Freshly Made Sketches #699

Verena is hosting the current Freshly Made Sketches $699 with this fun sketch.

Since any shape can be substituted for the circular element, I went with a wood slice.

A birch wood slice was assembled and a few blooms were added on the side.
A panel was embossed then trimmed and adhered to a card base. The wood
slice was adhered to the card and finished off with a script sentiment.

I hope that I haven't strayed too far from Verena's sketch. Thanks so much
for stopping by!

Freshly Made Sketches #689

Cécile brings us Freshly Made Sketches #689 and I was excited to make a square
card, although it's not a requirement. It's just been a while since I've made one.

I substituted a wood slice from The Greetery for the square element and added
some splatters and a few Waffle Flower Dry Flowers that were colored with Zigs
and a water brush.

The 5" by 5" card base was embossed before the wood slice was adhered. For the
sentiment I found an oldie from Right at Home to finish off the card.

Thanks, always, for stopping by!

Color Throwdown Challenge #831

Tammy brings us Color Throwdown Challenge #831 with a summery color palette
of sage green, yellow, and coral.

I pulled out an older Greetery stencil set and the hardest part was finding an ink color
in my ink inventory that was closest to sage.

Concord & 9th's eucalyptus was a close match and the image was die cut after
stenciling. I ran a panel through a lace doily embossing folder and adhered it to a
card base. The bouquet was adhered and partially popped up for some dimension.

After stamping the sentiment I felt that the card needed something so I assembled
a loopy bow and adhered it near the stems.

I'm not 100% pleased with my sage green and now I know I'll need to invest in
that color. Thanks for stopping by!

Freshly Made Sketches #678

Hello, hello!
I'm back and still feeling a bit jet lagged but happy to be making a card for
Freshly Made Sketches #678 courtesy of Cécile. It's an artsy one, isn't it?

I wanted a grid pattern under the dragonfly and resorted to inking some color over
an embossed grid surface.

I spattered some green ink then adhered the dragonfly. A Honeybee Stamps
sentiment and green gold sequins finished off the card.

Traveling is fun but it's always nice to come home, even if it meant tackling three
batches of laundry--just for two people!

Thanks so much for stopping by!

Freshly Made Sketches #676

Here's Freshly Made Sketches #676 courtesy of Kim.

A lot of possibilities for those circular elements but I ended up going citrus and
happened to have several Greetery Citrus Slices already premade. Yay!

I embossed some texture before adding the frame and fruits. I tucked in a few leaves
and finished off with the simple sentiment

I'm pleased as punch when I can use premade goodies on my card, especially when
it's down to the wire to enter AND I remembered where I put them. (Wink!)
Thanks so much for stopping by!

Edited to add: My card was given the Princess honor by Judy! Thanks so much!

Color Hues Challenge #91 -- Red and Green

I'm joining the latest Color Hues Challenge to use hues of RED and GREEN.

I tried NOT to think of Christmas using other card ideas, but in the end I caved
and went all in for the holiday.

I reached for The Greetery's BotaniCuts Mistletoe and shaded the branch and
berries using the same colored ink as the card stock. I assembled the branch
and found an embossed panel that was the perfect piece for the background.

I adhered the mistletoe branch and added the loopy bow cut from gold glitter card
stock. I tried a white glitter bow (underwhelming) and a red bow (overwhelming)
and in the end the gold won. A simple sentiment from Altenew finished off the card.

I have about a week left to enter another card and I really want to try a non
Christmas theme. We shall see. Thanks so much for stopping by!

Color Hues #82 --Turquoise & Green

I haven't played in a Color Hues Challenge in quite a while and when I found some
Greetery dragonflies that were already cut and colored, I decided to enter a card.

Here's Tracey's color palette for Challenge #82

And here's my card.

I colored them quite a while ago and I think I used Zig makers and a waterbrush.
I adhered him to an embossed panel and added the white embossed Honeybee Stamps
sentiment. Some Pretty Pink Posh jewels finished off the card.

Earlier I added some vellum leaves but took them off and decided simple is best.
Besides, I don't think dragonflies ever land on greenery--they're much too busy flitting.
Off to link this up with a few days to spare. Thanks so much for stopping by!

Edited to add: My card was chosen as the winner! Thank you Color Hues!

The Flower Challenge #89 -- Make a Square Card

This month's challenge theme at The Flower Challenge is to make a SQUARE card.

 Here's my little square number.

I  just received my Greetery order of BotaniCuts Lilacs. I thought they'd be a pain to assemble
but I watched Betsy create hers about a dozen times and I was sold on the set.

Betsy used daubers to color her lilacs but I took the lazy route and smooshed whatever
purple inks I had and picked up the colors on watercolor card stock, then cut them out.
The leaves were ink blended on white die cuts and I used the residual ink to color the
tops of the clusters.

I added a frame to a 4.25" card base and sponged in a blue background. I spattered water
and blue ink then added the blooms and leaves when the panel was dry. The sentiment
is from Honeybee Stamps Be Still stamp and die set. Sequins finished off the card.

All in all it was fast and easy to assemble the lilacs and I'd like to try and make some
white ones that Betsy shared. But that's for another day.

Thanks so much for stopping by!

The Flower Challenge #88 -- Add a Heart

I'm so happy to see The Flower Challenge back from a well deserved hiatus.
This month's challenge theme is to Add a Heart and it gave me a chance to use
some (two year old) Greetery products that were still in their packaging. Oh my!

Here's my card and I'm hoping that the heart isn't too overwhelming.

The heart wood slice was assembled and spattered then topped with Forget-Me-Nots that
were colored with Zig markers. I had no idea what color forget-me-nots were until I looked
it up, so I apologize for these bright pink ones.

I added the love word and popped up the heart on Altenew's Masonry Wall. At the last
minute I decided to add the sub sentiment to balance out the design.

I might redeem myself and color these blooms again in their "proper" color.
Thanks so much for stopping by!

Featured Stamper for Color Throwdown #758

I was so surprised when I found out that my entry was chosen as the random winner for
Color Throwdown Challenge #756 and that meant an invitation to be the Featured Stamper
for CTD #758. And I graciously accepted.

The colors are pink, green, magenta, and white.

Here's how I was inspired.

I chose The Greetery's Spring Meadow set paired with some new Concord & 9th inks.
Dragonfruit and Carnation were the best choices for my project although CTD
allows for some leeway with the color palette.

I was trying to create an OLC but stenciling the image on an angle was a bit too
challenging so I decided to stencil, then cut out the bouquet. I adhered it to a panel,
stamped the sentiment, and finished off with some clear sequins

You have until Monday, September 4, 2023 at 6PM EST to link up your projects.
Thanks to the CTD team for the invitation to join you for this week's challenge
and we hope to see you n the gallery!

Color Throwdown #753

I'm entering a card to Color Throwdown #753 just under the wire, as always.
Here's the challenge colors: pink, aqua, yellow and lime.

The colors made me think about flowers and I pulled out The Greetery's
Spring Meadow Stencil which fit the bill.

I used inks from The Stamp Market and Altenew. I'm not really sure of the names
because I was just grabbing colors and stenciling as I went along.

I stamped the sentiment and used a set of matting dies to cut out the panel.
I adhered it to a light gray card base and finished off with some clear enamel dots.

I'd better link this before I miss another deadline.
Thanks for stopping by!

Inspired by LEMONS

It's been a week since I've returned from an overseas trip and I think I'm still
a bit jet lagged. I've been wanting to enter card challenges but I'm two steps behind.

When I saw the current Inspired by Challenge with the theme of lemons, I
couldn't resist.

Here's my card. I was inspired by the lemon slice and the color of the truck.

I happened to have some of The Greetery's lemon slices already made so this card
came together rather quickly.

Off to link up this card--I hope I made it! Thanks for stopping by!

Inspired by Challenge 198C -- Winter Love

Cutting it close with my entry to Inspired by Challenge 198C -- Winter Love.
I was inspired by the graphic and Laurel's sketch.

Here's my card. A pretty literal take on the simple sketch.

The background was debossed with Altenew's Dotted Swirls plate to mimic the
rising steam. I chose an non-caffeinated sentiment from Gina K Designs and adhered
the panel to some plaid patterned paper from The Stamp Market. I happened to have
a pack of heart confetti on my desk and chose three white ones to finish off the card.

Ok, off to link up this card so I won't be late again! Thanks for stopping by!

Thrilled to have my card given the Honorable Mention honor!
Thank you to the IB team!

Inspired By Challenge #147 -- Fall is Sweet

I'm joining the latest Inspired By Challenge -- Fall is Sweet. I was inspired by
the coffee theme and used the sketch for my card.

I used the Greetery's Cozy Cup set and let them hang over the edge while still
following the sketch. I added a couple of spoons, stamped the curved sentiment,
and finished off with a rounded corner.

While this set is still out, I'll stamp a few more cups and spoons for the upcoming
Fall/Winter 2020 Coffee Lovers Blog Hop that starts on November 6th to the 13th.
I'm SO looking forward to all the caffeine goodness that's sharerd!
Thanks for stopping by!

CAS(E) this Sketch #386

Nathalie brings us this week's CAS(E) this Sketch #386.

I went the festive route, using The Greetery's Pinwheel Party Stencil.

After stenciling them in rainbow order, I spattered on some gold paint
and added the sentiment. Rounded corners finished off the card.

Head on over to CAS(E) this Sketch to see how the rest of the team interpreted
Nathalie's sketch and join us if you can. Link up your card(s) by Thursday,
August 27th, and we hope to see you in the gallery!

Sitting here, thinking of you

http://coffeelovingcardmakers.com/2020/05/2020-spring-summer-coffee-lovers-blog-hop/

My second and final card for the Spring | Summer Coffee Lovers Hop.
My goodness the week just flew by! I thought for sure I'd make several cards
using some of the sponsors' products, too. Did.not.happen.

In the end, I made another card using The Greetery's Cozy Cup set with almost
the same layout, a different color mug and coaster, and an extra sprig thrown in.

I debossed the background with Altenew's Dotted Swirls Debossing Cover Die and
made a kraft cozy coaster. I added a little teal to the sprig and adhered everything
to the card base. The sentiment finished off the card.

And truthfully, I have never had a latté before. I mean, I've had a Starbucks latté.
Just not the fancy schmancy kind with the artsy foam.

Thanks so much for stopping by! Cheers to Amy and her team for another
well organized hop!

Spring | Summer Coffee Lovers Hop

The wait is over! It's time for the Spring | Summer Coffee Lovers Hop!
The hop is definitely a bright spot in our crafty lives, whether you're a coffee,
tea, or cocoa drinker--or all three!

http://coffeelovingcardmakers.com/2020/05/2020-spring-summer-coffee-lovers-blog-hop/

I couldn't wait to go through my coffee and tea themed stamps and join the hop.
I've had The Greetery's Cozy Cup set for a while and finally got a chance to ink it up.
My inspiration came from Laurie Willison's card and I told her how much I loved it
and that I would CASE her. And I did!

The set is fun to ink up because of the different layers. I especially love the
detail on the cup's handle--the shading is so cool! The sentiment was stamped on
the coaster, then the cup, spoon, and spring were arranged on top.

Thanks to Amy and her hardworking brew crew, to Laurie for the inspiration,
and to you for stopping by!

CAS(E) this Sketch #367

Nathalie  brings us this week's CAS(E) this Sketch #367.

Here's my take on it.

I used The Greetery's Cozy Cup Coaster Die to replace the separate strips
with a single piece. I added a branch and stamped the sentiment. Done!

Visit CAS(E) this Sketch to see how the rest of the team interpreted the sketch
and join us if you can. Link up your card(s) by Thursday, April 16th and as  the
weekly winner you'll be invited to join us on a future sketch!
Stay safe and thanks for stopping by!
