MFT June Release Countdown Day 5

Oh happy day! Today is Day 5 of My Favorite Things June Release Countdown,
quite possibly my favorite release during my favorite time of the year--summer!

Starting things off is Toucan Do It--a set of toucans and friends who are
having way too much fun.

The birds were colored with Copic markers and highlights were added with a
white Gelly Roll pen. I masked off a rectangle on the left side of a top folding
white card. Distress inks were blended and I let the colors faded off near the top.

The birds were stacked on on top of each other and popped up on the card.
I stamped the sentiment and finished off the card with enamel dots.

Release and don't forget to leave a comment there for a chance to win a prize!

CAS(E) this Sketch #274

Here's this week's CAS(E) this Sketch #274--a little something from me.

I had so many ideas for this sketch, but in the end, settled on this.

I bought the Hero Arts Paper Layering Sunflower when it first debuted, colored it,
but never used it. When it fell out of my stash of diecuts, well, it was a sign. Because
it was colored so long ago, I forgot which medium I used. I'm guessing Zig markers
and a waterbrush, plus a brown Copic marker to dot the "seeds" in the center.

A green piece of card stock was trimmed to 2x3" and the corners were rounded,
then ink distressed. I adhered the panel onto a kraft card base, and the the
sunflower over it, per the sketch. The bottom corners were rounded off
and the stamped sentiment finished off the card.

Visit CAS(E) this Sketch to see how the rest of the team interpreted the
sketch and join us if you can. Link up your card(s) by Thursday, June 7th.

MFT Wednesday Sketch Challenge #387

Are you ready to meet this week's Wednesday Sketch Challenge?
Here's Sketch #387.

And here's my take on it.

Three rows of houses from Our Town Die-namics were cut from watercolor
card stock and trimmed to fit a white card base. One row of houses was
colored with Peerless watercolors and a water brush in rainbow order,
and set aside to dry.

I used a ton of dimensional adhesive and popped up the three rows of
houses, then stamped the sentiment beneath the last, colorful row.

MFT May Hits & HIghlights--Magical May

There’s something magical about May. The transition from spring into summer
and the explosion of color. It seems like the perfect time to bring some magic
into our crafting as well.

This month, the Creative Team is challenged to feature magical creatures or
simply integrate the colors mystical creatures conjure in our imagination.

For my project, I pulled out Birdie Brown's mermaid and gave her "unicorn
colored" hair with Copic markers. I saw this look on Pinterest and thought
it would be fun to give my mermaid rainbow colored hair.

Balloon Strings was clear embossed horizontally on a white card base.
A wave pattern was stenciled on watercolor card stock using the Drifts and
Hills stencil and a circle was cut from it. The mermaid was adhered to the
piece and the sentiment was stamped over it.

I adhered all the pieces to the card and rounded off the right bottom corner.
Clear sequins finished off the card.

the rest of the Creative Team took on the Magical May Challenge!

was spattered over it. When it was dried, I stamped the sentiment and
finished off the card with sequins. Done!

MFT Wed Sketch Challenge #386

It's time for a new Wednesday Sketch Challenge. Here's Sketch #386.

And here's my take on it, with inspiration from Torico's card. I doubled up on the
Magical Mandala diecuts like she did, offsetting the top one just a bit so they formed
more of a circular shape.

I ink distressed a panel with Distress Oxide inks and spattered water over the surface.
After adhering the double mandala, I added the sentiment that was platinum embossed
on a scrap of ink distressed card stock and popped up over the mandala.

MFT Painted Prints Card Kit Release Day

It's time to shop for My Favorite Things Painted Prints Card Kit!

Before you run off to snag yours, I'd like to share one more project with you
using products you may already own, to show the versatility of the kit.

I pulled out all the stops for release day. I stamped a slew of blooms and
cut them out with the matching Die-namics. The leaves were cut from Sour
Apple card stock and inked with Distress inks for dimension.

A Smooth White card base was topped with a stitched rectangle frame. The blooms
and leaves were popped up on the card with dimensional adhesive. Highlights were
added to the leaves with a Gelly Roll pen. The sentiment was stamped beneath
and finished off  sequins.

MFT Painted Prints Card Kit--Day 1

Are you ready to meet My Favorite Things June Card Kit? Painted Prints is a
gorgeous kit of layered flowers with sentiments in a beautiful, classic font.

Here's a peek at the kit. Visit today's Card Kit post at My Favorite Things for a
detailed description of the kit's contents.

Here's today's card. All products from the kit are marked in bold type.

The blooms are so easy to layer and I decided to create a background print
using three colors of MFT dye inks on white card stock. I stamped the leaves
with Sour Apple ink. Originally I was planning a one layer card, but added
the white embossed sentiment on a Coral Crush banner. The bottom right
corner was rounded off and finished with clear sequins.

Visit today's Card Kit post at My Favorite Things for more inspiration from the
Creative Team and leave a comment there for a chance to win a $25 prize!

CAS(E) this Sketch #272

Note: Please scroll down or click here for MFT's Birthday Project post.

***

Chrissy brings us this week's CAS(E) this Sketch #272.

And here's my take on it--some party bears!

Two bears were stamped in dark gray ink on white card stock. The balloon
bear was stamped in black ink, colored with Copic markers, and cut with the
matching Die-namics. The sentiment was stamped on the card and used to
ground the bear. Rounded corners finished off the card.

sketch and join us if you can. Link up your card(s) by Thursday, May 24th.

MFT May Birthday Project--Delicious Birthday Delights

Birthdays are a perfect occasion for sweet-toothed boys and girls of all ages.
Cakes and cupcakes lead the charge, of course, bedecked by a festive candle! Join our
designers this month in creating birthday looks featuring cakes, cupcakes, and candles.

I tried to design a cupcake but didn't have the right dies so I resorted to....
(use your imagination!) a simple birthday cake--chocolate with pink frosting.

Do you see it? I trimmed a piece of Chocolate Brown card stock at an angle
and topped it with a scalloped fringe. Candles were cut from card stock and
shaded to give them some dimension.

The candles were tucked under the "frosting" and adhered to the card.
The flames were cut from yellow card stock and shaded on the bottom for
a bit of interest. You can't see it, but there's a subtle sheen from a shimmer pen
on the flames. A white embossed sentiment and enamel dots finished the card.

$50 MFT gift voucher as the random winner of the challenge.
