CAS(E) this Sketch #370--Just Because

Chrissy's done it again! She brings us another awesome sketch for
this week's CAS(E) this Sketch. Meet Sketch #370.

And  here's my take on it.

I found a pack of ModaScrap patterned papers that was part of an older Simon
Says Stamp Card Kit.  I chose three different sheets and cut them according to
the sketch. I white embossed the sentiment and finished off the card with
three sequins.

Visit CAS(E) this Sketch to see how the rest of the team interpreted Chrissy's
sketch and join us if you can. Link up your card(s) by Thursday, May 7th and
as the weekly winner you'll be invited to join us on a future sketch!

Inspired By...a rainbow of color

Squeezing in my card for the current Inspired By Challenge #121 which is
all about RAINBOWS.

https://theseinspiredchallenges.blogspot.com/2020/04/inspired-bya-rainbow-of-color.html

I was inspired by the dome shaped openings and of course, the gorgeous colors.

I used an old Sizzix Framelit set of rounded tags and ink distressed each size
with two colors of Hero Arts Reactive ink. I splashed them with water and
white paint and gold embossed the sentiment, then let them dry.

This is my second attempt with the arrangement. The earlier layout looked
too much like a rainbow, which is not exactly what I wanted. So I offset each
piece a little to give the appearance of a reversed hallway.

I adhered the pieces to a white card base, then finished off the card with
gold stars and sequins. It's not easy to see but at the last moment I added
a strip of white card stock on the edge to ground the design.

Ok, off I go to link this up--finally! Thanks so much for stopping by!

Lawn Fawnatics Challenge #75--Spectacular Skies

I can thank "sheltering at home" and housekeeping for discovering stamps
and dies that I've accumulated for YEARS, prompting me to enter some
new-to-me challenges.

I have a few Lawn Fawn stamps that go way back so I went through my stash
to enter the current Lawn Fawnatics Challenge #75 using three different sets
on my project.

https://www.lawnfawnatics.com/challenges/lawn-fawnatics-challenge-75-spectacular-skies

I masked off a portion of a card front and ink distressed a sky with three
colors of Hero Arts Reactive Inks. The little critter from Really High Five was
popped up on the card and I substituted an umbrella from Hello Baby.

A couple of clouds and a two part sentiment were added and the card was
finished off with a rounded corner.

Ok, so it's not a spectacular sky but I had fun nonetheless.
Thanks for stopping by!

Edited to add: My card was featured on Lawn Fawn's Fawny Friday!

Thanks so much, Lawn Fawn!

CAS(E) this Sketch #369--S'up, Dog?

Ready for a retro CAS(E) this Sketch? Here's this week's Sketch #369.

This was my take on the sketch back in 2015.

And here's my 2020 take on the sketch.

A doxie, a skateboard, and a strip of washi tape. It doesn't get any easier
than that. I stamped the sentiment and the card was done.

Visit CAS(E) this Sketch to see how the rest of the team interpreted this
retro sketch and join us if you can. Link up your card(s) by Thursday,
April 30th. We hope to see you in the gallery!

Happy Everything

Paper Smooches Challenge theme for the second half of the month is
HAPPY THINGS.

https://papersmooches.blogspot.com/2020/04/april-15-28-happy-challenge.html

I'm usually too lazy to color and resort to ink distressing which is fast and
forgiving. But I decided to pull out Paper Smooches Posh Planters set after a
friend sent me a card using one of the images. (Thanks, June!)

Coloring was so therapeutic! I started off with Copic markers then added more
shading with Prismacolor pencils. I stamped an older Paper Smooches
sentiment, added the planter and finished off with a strip of striped
patterned paper and some sequins.

I've been trying to "stay happy" by watching animal videos on You Tube.
One of my newly discovered channels is Kotaro and Hana, a pair of otters--
yes, otters!--who live in Japan. Makes me want to own an otter and since
they're not allowed in the US, I'd have to move to Japan.
That would make me happy, too,

 Thanks for stopping by!

the rest of the team for providing a creative outlet and a chance to stay in touch.

Here is this week's CAS(E) this Sketch #368--a little something from me.

And here's my interpretation of the sketch.

I substituted three Memory Box leaves for the squares and added a simple
Essentials by Ellen sentiment. Three gold sequins finished off the card.

As always, don't overthink the sketch and feel free to substitute any
element you wish. Visit CAS(E) this Sketch to see how the rest of the team

Fusion Card Challenge--GNOMES

I'm playing along with the gals over at Fusion Card Challenge because....GNOMES!
It's serendipitous when you're packing up a bunch of gnomes from Christmas and a
challenge pops up on your feed. I think I may have squealed.

http://fusioncardchallenge.blogspot.com/2020/04/fusion-gnomes.html

I looked through my gnome stash and picked out three that were dressed in
more non-Christmasy colors and chose to work with the sketch.

I ran the card base through a woodgrain embossing folder, added a stitched
circular frame then topped it off with the gnomes. The card was finished off
with the awesome reverse sentiment strips by CZ Designs.

Thanks so much for stopping by! Hope you are staying crafty and well.

Edited to add: My card was chosen as the Zen Master at Fusion!

CAS(E) this Sketch #367

Nathalie  brings us this week's CAS(E) this Sketch #367.

Here's my take on it.

I used The Greetery's Cozy Cup Coaster Die to replace the separate strips
with a single piece. I added a branch and stamped the sentiment. Done!

Paper Smooches April #1 PASTEL Color Story

It's a PASTEL Color Story Challenge for the first half of April at Paper Smooches
and here's the color palette.

https://papersmooches.blogspot.com/2020/04/april-1-challenge-color-story-pastel.html

And here's my card for the challenge.

Notice the Hearts Stencil background? It's remnants from two cards that I couldn't
bear to throw away. The two pieces were joined and adhered to a gray panel then
adhered to a white card base.

I stamped the two part sentiment on each half and finished off the card with some
clear sequins.

CAS(E) this Sketch #366

Teammie Brian brings us this week's CAS(E) this Sketch #366.

I've been staring at a new pad of Memory Box papers and decided this was
a good time to use them.

Two patterned papers were trimmed per the sketch and adhered to a card
base. Another piece was flipped to the solid side and trimmed and adhered
to the card. A stamped sentiment and sequins finished off the card.
Thanks for a great, stress free sketch, Brian!
