CAS(E) this Sketch #383

CAS(E) this Sketch #383 is brought to you by yours truly.
And it looks like this.

And here's my interpretation, although I think it lost its CAS status.

I was intrigued with teammie Michele's stenciled pool water that she
learned from MFT's Laura Dovalo. I wanted to try it but like Michele, didn't
own the stencil, so I found a discontinued one from MFT called COW PRINT.

I wasn't super happy with the result (does it look more like jellyfish?) but
having three cute chickies poolside really help. I added the Mama
Elephant sentiment and called it done.

Paper Smooches -- COLOR POP

Paper Smooches challenge for the second half of July is COLOR POP, using
just black and white with a pop of color on your project.

https://papersmooches.blogspot.com/2020/07/july-15-28-color-pop-challenge.html

I may have missed the mark on this but here's what I came up with.

I knew that I wanted to use the orca because it's already a black and white
mammal, so I decided the "pop of color" would be the ocean. I tore some
low tack tape so I'd get the ragged edges and ink blended and spattered a
small patch of blue.

I popped up the orca, added the splashes above him, and stamped the
two part sentiment. I'm still not too sure about this. I'll go through my
Paper Smooches stash and may try again....Thanks for stopping by!

CAS(E) this Sketch #382

Ready for a new CAS(E) this Sketch? This little number comes from Nathalie.
Meet Sketch #382.

Here's my take on it.

Clean and simple this week, and that makes my heart happy. I assembled
the cupcake and added some Stickles to the candle flame. The sentiment
was stamped onto a green scrap that was inked on the bottom. I adhered
everything to a kraft card base and rounded off one corner.

Yes, the candle is sticking up a little higher than the top of the card, but
I've trimmed off a quarter of an inch from the bottom and side so it will fit
in an A2 size envelope. Honest. I checked.

CAS(E) this Sketch #381

Teammie Brian brings us this week's CAS(E) this Sketch #381, a sketch
with TONS of interpretations. We'd love to see yours! First, meet the sketch.

Here's what I came up with.

Yep, I used the Altenew washi tape AGAIN, but this time adhered it to
light pink card stock for a different look. I also discovered my stash of
embossing folders that were long neglected.

I adhered the washi panel and white embossed the sentiment on pink card
stock then added some shading on the bottom for an ombré look. Sequins
finished off the card.

Paper Smooches RAINBOWS Challenge -- Take Two

https://papersmooches.blogspot.com/2020/07/july-1-14-rainbows-challenge.html

I'm sharing a second card for Paper Smooches Rainbow theme challenge thanks
to the speedy delivery from Scrapbook.com of a stencil set that I thought was a
build-your-own rainbow. So I did.

I inked up three parts of the stencil to form a rainbow shape in three colors of
Hero Arts Reactive inks, then added small designs found on the stencil in a
secondary color. I stamped the sentiment, then adhered the panel to a card base
covered with diagonal striped paper.

I was going to add a few clear sequins but it's such a busy card, the bling would
have disappeared, so I left it as is. Do you see a rainbow? Please say yes....

Thanks so much for stopping by today!

CAS(E) this Sketch #380

Chrissy brainstorms the coolest sketches and this week's is no exception.

I semi panicked when I first saw the sketch, then remembered an Altenew stencil
that would work perfectly. I was inspired by Altenew team member Erum's card
using rainbow inks.

I used Hero Arts' Reactive inks and stenciled in three colors in portrait format.
The sentiment was curved before stamping to mimic the design.

Paper Smooches Challenge--RAINBOWS

I'm joining Paper Smooches Challenge for the first half of July
with a RAINBOW theme.

https://papersmooches.blogspot.com/2020/07/july-1-14-rainbows-challenge.html

I could not believe that I don't own Paper Smooches Rainbow Die and yet own
one from almost every other company. So plan B was to use the theme as
inspiration for my card.

Paper Smooches Hearts Stencil was inked in rainbow order with Hero Arts'
Reactive inks. I over spattered the card with black ink then finished off with
an Inverted Greeting.

I'm not too sure if this will qualify for the challenge, but lots of color always
makes things better. Thanks for stopping by!

CAS(E) this Sketch #379

It's retro time at CAS(E) this Sketch! This week's Sketch #379 was Sketch #62
back in 2014. Remember this little number?

Here's my take on it back then.

And here's the 2020 version with a little help from my favorite washi tape.

I adhered a strip of washi tape, then cut two thin strips of glittered card stock
and adhered them on either side to give the tape some definition. I stamped the
sentiment and called it done.

Come and play along with this retro sketch! Link up your card(s) by Thursday,
July 9th and we hope to see you in the gallery!
