It's my last week in the Designer Spotlight over at Simon Says Stamp
Wednesday Challenge.

This week the challenge theme is the ever popular ANYTHING GOES. The sponsor
is Art Impressions and by now you know that you don't have to use Art Impressions
products, but if you have them, then feel free to use them!

For my project, I decided to work with products from previous weeks' sponsors:
Hero Arts, Concord & 9th, and Clearly Besotted.

I began by coloring the koi with Copic markers, after seeing this koi (by dobie256)
in the Flickr gallery. Watercolor card stock was ink distressed and I stamped the tree
ring with water, then spattered water over the inking.

The koi was adhered to the card and I pulled up the head, fins, and tail to give it
some dimension. I finished off the card with the sentiment and some sequins.

MFT Wed Sketch Challenge #370

Are you ready for this week's MFT Wednesday Sketch Challenge?
Here's Sketch #370.

And here's my take on it. Naturally, I went with a Valentine themed card.

The background was dry embossed with the heart Die-namics cover plate,
trimmed, and adhered to a card base. The sentiment was white embossed
on a heart and ink distressed and spritzed with water.

The heart was popped up on the card and I added the white embossed
sentiment on the heart. Clear sequins finished off the card.

Visit the Card Challenges blog for all the details on how you could be the
random winner of a $50 MFT gift voucher and we hope to see you in the gallery!

CAS(E) this Sketch #256

Chrissy brings us this week's CAS(E) this Sketch #256.

I know, right? I'll admit to being stumped until I saw my stash of Painted Flowers
and came up with this.

I cascaded Painted Flowers and leaves on a Primitive Cream card base and
finished off the card with the white embossed sentiment. Done! So thankful
for my stash of flowers and leaves.

Visit CAS(E) this Sketch to see how the rest of my teammies interpreted this
awesome sketch and join us if you can. Link up your project(s) by Thursday,
February 1st and as the winner, you could be joining us on a future sketch!

Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge--LAYER IT UP

wed-newchallenge-header

It's time for a new Wednesday Challenge at Simon Says Stamp! This week the
challenge theme is to LAYER IT UP, and the featured company is Concord & 9th.

You don't have to use Concord & 9th products to enter the challenge, but if you
already own them, then feel free to use them on your projects.

For this week's project, I layered Concord & 9th stamps and dies, beginning with
the tree ring that was white embossed on a gray card base. The "thanks" was cut
three times and layered to form a thick sentiment, and ink distressed in pink ombré.

The leaf was cut once each from white card stock and vellum and adhered
to the card. I trimmed the second part of the sentiment and white embossed
it on dark gray card stock, then adhered it below the "thanks". One corner of
the card was rounded off and finished with sequins.

MFT Yay for You Card Kit Release Day

It's time! You may now purchase the Yay for You Card Kit in the MFT Store!
Before you head off to the store, I have one more project to share with you.

I needed a last minute birthday card that came together quickly thanks to the kit and
diecuts that I had in my stash. I colored the Our Town Die-namics with Zig markers
and a waterbrush then adhered them to a top folding white card base.

The Yay was cut two times from white card stock and layered to form a thicker
sentiment. I adhered it to the card at an angle and stamped the second part of
the sentiment. A strip of striped paper and sequins finished off the card.

Visit all the participating team members' blogs for more inspiration and leave
comments on their blogs by the end of the day on Thursday, January 25th and
you could be the random winner of a $50 MFT gift voucher! Good luck and
happy shopping!

MFT January Card Kit Countdown--Day 2

Are you ready for more YAY for You Card Kit inspiration? Today I'm sharing a
colorful shaker card that any little kid (or big kid!) would love to receive.

I started off by ink distressing a rainbow pattern on a piece of watercolor
card stock, and die cut the YAY sentiment. I stamped the two part sentiment
and the little monsters with Black Licorice ink.

I doubled up the shaker portion so the sequins would have lots of movement
and backed the letters with the silver sparkle paper from the kit. I mounted
the piece on a Stone Gray card base and added details with a white pigment pen
and colored in the eyeballs with a black gel pen.

Notice the eyebrows on the first monster? Truthfully, I smudged one of the
eyeballs before it was dried and not wanting to start over, I gave him some
eyebrows. A good save, if I do say so myself 😉

Visit today's countdown post at My Favorite Things for more inspiration from
the design team and leave a comment there for a chance to win a $25 prize. This
fun kit will go on sale tomorrow, January 23rd at 9PM EST in the MFT Store!

MFT January Card Kit Countdown--Day 1

This month, My Favorite Things is ready to celebrate YOU and our January
Card Kit--Yay for You--has everything you need to celebrate any happy occasion.

Here's a peek at the kit's contents. Visit today's post at My Favorite Things
for a detailed list of the kit's contents.

Here's my card for today's countdown and with the exception of the sequins,
uses everything in the kit.

Using four of the card stock colors in the kit, I die cut the confetti until I had
a good amount to place on my card. I placed them haphazardly on the card
front and adhered them down, leaving room for the sentiment.

After stamping the sentiment in black ink, I die cut the YAY right over it,
then cut it three more times from white card stock. I adhered the letters
together to form thick letters and added the letters with the stamped
sentiment on top.

I puzzle pieced the letters back in their respective spaces after adhering a panel
behind it. The card was finished off with clear sequins. I love how fun and festive
the card looks with the sprinkling of confetti over it.

Visit today's Card Kit post at My Favorite Things for more inspiration using
the kit, which goes on sale Tuesday, January 23rd at 9PM EST in the MFT Store.
Also, leave a comment there for a chance to win a $25 prize!

CAS(E) this Sketch #255

(Note: For the My Favorite Things Birthday Project post, click here or scroll down. Thanks!)

* * *

CAS(E) this Sketch #255 is a little number from me. And it looks like this.

And here's my take on it.

The hot air balloon and pup were stamped, colored with Copic markers and cut
with the matching die-namics. A portion of a stitched cloud was cut and adhered
to a blue card base. The hot air balloon was popped up over the clouds and the
card was finished off with the sentiment and sequins.

Visit CAS(E) this Sketch to see how the rest of the team interpreted the sketch
and join us if you can. Link up your card(s) by Thursday, January 25th and
we hope to see you in the gallery!

MFT January Birthday Project Challenge

It's a new year and My Favorite Things has come up with a new monthly challenge!

The Birthday Project challenge will be posted on the third Thursday of the month and
feature ideas for getting creative with your birthday card making. Enter the monthly
challenge for a chance to win a $50 MFT gift voucher!

This month, we're focusing on the word "celebrate". Incorporate the stamped or
die cut word into your birthday card design and leave no question as to the mood
of your greeting.

For my project, I white embossed the word "celebrate" diagonally on watercolor
card stock and ink distressed with gradient warm colors. The panel was trimmed
and adhered to a white card base.

I chose a Bitty Bear to let the background stand out. He was stamped and colored
with Copic markers, then cut with the matching Die-namics. The sentiment was
white embossed on a strip of brown card stock and adhered to the card together
with the bear. Sequins finished off the card.

Visit the Birthday Project post over at the Card Challenges blog for all the
details and deadlines and join the inaugural challenge!
Hope to see you in the gallery!

Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge--ADD A SENTIMENT

Welcome back to a new Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge! This week,
the challenge is to ADD A SENTIMENT and the featured company is Clearly Besotted.

You don't have to use Clearly Besotted products to enter the challenge, but if
you have them, we'd love to see them on your projects!

I chose Clearly Besotted's Tickle My Fancy stamp set and white embossed
different feathers on watercolor card stock. I ink distressed over the feathers in
green and blue distress inks then spattered water and white paint.

The panel was trimmed and adhered to a gray card base. I added a strip of
black and white diagonal striped paper and white embossed the sentiment on
a piece of black card stock. I rounded off the corners of the sentiment strip
and popped it up on the card. Clear sequins finished off the card.
