Happy New Year

If you follow me on Instagram, you might have caught a glimpse of my Top 9
pics for 2015, which is based on the number of "likes". It's no surprise that
cards and crafts rounded out the top pics that my followers liked.

These pics tell me that I've rediscovered my Prismacolor pencils, and that
I've grown quite fond of watercoloring now that my Copics are drying out.

I'd like to take this time to thank you all for visiting my blog this year
and for your kind comments. Crafty friends are the best!

Wishing you a Happy, Crafty, Inky New Year!

Snowflake Grove

Just in time for the holidays, Stacey Yacula presents Snowflake Grove, a new
collection of adorable images you've come to know and love.

I created a couple of tags with a cute little guy named Snow and the new
Holiday Marquee Sentiments. The sentiments were white embossed on
watercolor card stock and colored over with Zig markers and a waterbrush.

Snow was stamped with permanent ink and the images were die cut with a tag die.
Ribbon was threaded through the tag and a few clear sequins finished them off.

Snowflake Grove goes on sale today exclusively at Purple Onion Designs,
and for a limited time, the ENTIRE collection of 30 unmounted images
is on sale for $100.00. You can find all new stamps here.

Visit Purple Onion Designs for more inspiration from the design team
and guest designers. There's so much to see and love!

Purple Onion Designs Holiday Sale

You have a few more days to take advantage of PURPLE ONION DESIGNS Holiday Sale!
All stamps in stock are 25% off through Wednesday, December 10th.

I've made some fun tags using Walter, a skating penguin by Stacey Yacula.

He was colored with Copics, fussy cut and attached to a tag die cut from kraft layering paper.
I embossed all of the tags with a snow embossing folder, then used a sanding block
to take away the color, giving him a snowy background.
All sentiments are by Purple Onion Designs, too.

The sale ends on Wednesday, December 10th, so head over to the store
and grab your favorites!

Merry & Bright

Today I'm sharing a card using an image from Stacey Yacula for Purple Onion Designs.
Stacey's images are so adorable, I couldn't resist picking up a few critters and sentiments.

Meet Walter, a skating penguin who seems to be taking a little break--or he fell on his bum.
I colored him with Copics and used non traditional colors on the card.

I'm linking up my card to The Challenge #19. I chose to work with just the sketch
and what a great sketch it is! Think I'll be using it to crank out a few more cards.

And a heads up that Purple Onion Designs is having their annual holiday sale.
All stamps are 25% off between November 28th thru December 10th, plus
there are several pages of Black Friday-Cyber Monday specials that will also receive
the 25% discount! It's a great time to stock up on some stamps you've been wishing for.

Thanks for stopping by, and happy shopping!

Purple Onion Designs' Holiday Design Team Call

Phew! That was a mouthful! I thought I'd help Michele spread the word
about a holiday (short term) design team call for Purple Onion Designs.
She's looking for both cardmakers and scrapbookers and the call is open
until Sunday, October 20th.

Go here for all the details and application form, and you can let Michele know
if you are interested in a long term spot as well.

Sadly, I am stepping down from the team. It's been a great two and a half years
and Michele has been the best "boss" anyone could hope to design for.

I loved that I got to share stamps from some very talented artists--
Stephanie Ackerman, Stacey Yacula, Carolyn Draws, and Michele Connolly herself.
Yep, it's been a great ride!

I encourage you to apply for Purple Onion Designs.
You won't be disappointed if you join the team!

Thank you, Michele, for the honor and experience of being an Onion.

I'd like to share a couple of cards using the new Traveler stamp set from Carolyn Draws.

My second card is dedicated to families who are still traveling on vacation
and the imminent four-word phrase they will dread to hear...

There are also three pages of SALE stamps which will be further discounted

take a look at her video here as she colors Freckles with awesome results!

Lastly, here's a card that I made with the Envies stamp set.
I paper pieced the envelope using scraps of patterned paper
and popped up some of them on dimensional adhesive for a bit of interest.
I added the sentiment from the Happy Mail set and the heart is from Avery Elle.

My 5 minute card

When my Purple Onion Designs stamps arrived, I started trimming them apart.
The set is called Happy Mail and some of the images look like washi tape.

I randomly stamped some images on a scrap piece of card stock,
including the little replacement chick (thank you, Kelly!)
and when I finished, I was pleasantly surprised with the outcome.

I colored the chick with some Copics, colored in the heart, trimmed the piece
and mounted it to a notecard. Done!

I was especially pleased with how the colors overlapped
purely by accident. And I didn't even use a stamp positioner!
Isn't that a happy chick? I know I was.

Please stop by tomorrow for Avery Elle's May Release blog hop.
Jamie has been showing sneak peeks of the new stamps and dies over at Avery Elle.
It's an awesome release you won't want to miss!

Thanks for stopping by!
