CAS(E) this Sketch #329

Chrissy brings us this week's CAS(E) this Sketch #329.

And here's how I was inspired.

Paper Smooches' cute little Vespa just arrived and found a place on my card.
I layered it over striped patterned paper and finished off with the sentiment.

CAS(E) this Sketch #328

It's time for a visit to the vault with a retro sketch for CAS(E) this Sketch #328.

Here's my take on the sketch way back in 2013.

And here's the simplified 2019 take.

A cute little cloud huggin' sun, a strip of patterned paper, and a stamped
sentiment plus a sprinkling of sequins. Done!

Paper Smooches Cuppa Sunshine

Have you seen Paper Smooches' June 2019 Release? It's just bursting with
sunshine goodness! I may have squealed when I saw the Cuppa Sunshine dies
and the samples from the design team convinced me that I "needed" it.
Here's my first card using the new dies. Isn't that mug the cutest?

I ink distressed the solid cup piece with the new Hero Arts Reactive Inks.
They blend so smoothly over white card stock. The overlay was cut from white
card stock and adhered over the solid piece.

Smiley faces were stamped on the sun and cloud. The mug was grounded with a strip
of green patterned paper and finished off with the sentiment and rising steam.

I wish that I had a mug like this--it would definitely make every day great! 😉
Thanks for stopping by today!

CAS(E) this Sketch #323

CAS(E) this Sketch #323 is a retro one from former teammie Leigh.

Here's my take from September 2015.

And here's my 2019 version.

Houses were cut from the cover plate and ink distressed, fading to the bottom,
adhered to a card base, then finished off with the stamped sentiment.

CAS(E) this Sketch #321

Teammie Brian brings us this week's CAS(E) this Sketch #321.

And here's what I came up with.

Watercolor card stock was ink distressed with two colors of Distress inks and spattered
with water. A strip was torn and adhered to a white card base. Zig markers were
painted on Bristol card stock and blended with water, then cut with the fish die.
They were adhered on the "water" and the card was finished off with the sentiment.

CAS(E) this Sketch #320

Former teammie Nathalie brings us this week's CAS(E) this Sketch #320.

And here's my take on it.

An oval die was debossed on the front of a top folding gray card base. Four
leafy branches were ink distressed, then added onto the four corners of the card.
The stamped sentiment finished off the card.

March CAS Christmas Challenge--Deer

It's my first time playing along with CAS Christmas Challenge, prompted by
my blogging friend, Hideko. I love CAS designs and when I was going through my
stash of die cuts, I found an old Maggie Holmes stag to use for the challenge.
Yes, it's a pink stag.

If I remember correctly, I gold embossed a Hero Arts stamp, then added a
quick watercolor wash over it. I die cut an extra stag and adhered it to the
colored one for some dimension.

The stag's head was adhered to a white card base and finished off with
the gold embossed sentiment and thin white frame. I thought about adding
some small gold sequins but I wanted to keep it as CAS as possible, and I think
there's enough bling on the card as it is.
The best part about entering a Christmas challenge? You get a jump start
on this year's Christmas cards. Thanks for stopping by today!

Edited to add: Honored to be chosen as Outstanding Design!

CAS(E) this Sketch #287

Here's CAS(E) this Sketch #287, compliments of teammie Brian.

And here's my slanted take on it.

A piece of striped patterned paper, a take out coffee cup and a stamped
sentiment. Done! I had the cup in my stash of die cuts so assembly was
easy peasy. The design went a little diagonal because of the placement of
the cup, but you can still see the sketch. Sorta.

Paper Smooches Christmas in July 2018

It's been so hot here in the islands and we literally wilt without the trade winds.
I saw Paper Smooches' latest challenge and decided to join the fun
and try to cool off, too.

Christmas in July? Sounds good to me!

I ink distressed a background in warm tones and adhered it to a kraft card base.
The snow couple was stamped, colored with Copics and cut with the matching dies,
then popped up on the card. Snowflakes and the sentiment were white embossed
on the card and some snow dots were added with a gel pen on the background.

I'm beginning to feel a bit cooler now. Thanks for stopping by!

Edited to add: I'm happy to share that I was one of the winners of the challenge!

Aloha and Spring CLH Giveaway Winner

When I saw all the pineapple goodness at Paper Smooches, getting the new
stamps and dies was a no brainer. Pineapple 1, Pineapple 2, Pineapple Crush.
Even their names are cute!

Born and raised in Hawaii, I.LOVE.PINEAPPLES.
Didn't love it so much as a a teen. Working in a pineapple cannery was my
first summer job. Thankfully, I didn't suffer with "pine rash" but I couldn't eat it
for a while. Now, I'm a huge fan. I can demolish a whole pineapple in two days.

I adhered the Criss Cross diecut at an angle, added the pineapple and a few
flowers. I adhered the white embossed sentiment, pulled up some of the crown
for interest, and finished off with a few enamel dots.

Regarding the giveaway winner.....
Apologies for not posting this sooner, but I had several glitches with some of
the comments that were left for the Coffee Lovers Hop giveaway. Either I had
no way of contacting the winner, or they did not answer my question as to
what was their favorite beverage choice.

Then I thought, what the heck, I'll just go with Random.org and since I had
two sets, I chose two winners. And they are:

Celeste Goff and AJ Bodine

Congratulations, ladies! I have contacted you and await your response.
Thanks to everyone who hopped along and entered the giveaway!

Spring 2017 Coffee Lovers Blog Hop

It's that time of year--the Spring 2017 Coffee Lovers Blog Hop!
I'm super excited because I'm having a giveaway! First, here's my card.

I die cut Paper Smooches take out coffee cup from watercolor card stock and
before ink distressing, taped the back side of the cup to keep the pieces intact.
The heart was die cut from the coffee sleeve portion of the cup, ink distressed,
then popped back in the space.

I paired the image with some striped patterned paper and the curved
sentiment from Simon Says Stamp. A few sprinkled coffee beans finished
off the card. Don't you just love that sentiment? It's so true.

* * *

And now for the giveaway! Do you like the Cozy Coffee die set that I used
on my card? It's super cute and I love the coffee beans in the set.

All you have to do is leave a comment on this post, telling me if you are a
coffee, tea, or cocoa lover--or all three! I'll add a few extra goodies to sweeten
the giveaway. One comment per person, please, and international friends
are welcome to enter.

The deadline to comment is Friday, March 31st at 11:59PM HST.
I'll announce the random winner a few days after the hop ends.

Big thanks to Amy and her helpers for coordinating another successful hop,
and thanks for stopping by!

Paper Smooches Sparks Challenge--Anything Goes

I'm joining Paper Smooches Challenge this week--just under the wire--
since the theme is Anything Goes. That, and I wanted to play with the adorable
flip flop dies that I've had for a while. Here's my card.

See the texture on the flip flops? I had a scrap piece of watercolor paper that I stenciled
with MFT's Concentric Circle Grid and decided to use that for the flip flops.
I'm so glad that I kept it--I love the texture!

The sentiment is from Summer Lovin' and all the extra flowers are from the flip flop die set.

Here's a bit of trivia for you. In Hawaii, we refer to flip flops as "rubber slippers"
and every person I know owns at least a couple of pairs. Me? I own 5 pairs,
and I even have one with a wedge heel...for added height!

Thanks for stopping by today!
