MFT January Hits & Highlights

Falling in love definitely causes a rattle in your heart, so it’s only appropriate that
your love-themed cards feature a shaker heart to honor that feeling. This month,
we're challenged to create shaker cards featuring hearts — big hearts, mini hearts,
balloon hearts, and multi-hearts--there are so many options available in the shop!

I chose the new bear from Stacey Yacula and added a heart shaped shaker pouch and
balloon to a simple scene.

I added a bit of texture to the bear with Prismacolor pencils and a tiny jute bow. It's
difficult to see the balloon sentiment, but the recipient will be able to when they shake
the card in person.

Visit today's Hits & Highlights post to see how participating Creative Team members
took on the shaker hearts challenge. Thanks for stopping by today!

MFT Card Kit & Stacey Yacula Joyful Heart Bears Release Day

It's time! My Favorite Things January Card Kit--Heart Art, and Stacey Yacula's Joyful
Heart Bears are now available for purchase in the MFT Store!

I can't get enough of Stacey's bears--they are so adorable! I colored the bear with Copic
markers and cut him out with the matching Die-namics.

The Stitched Dome Frame was cut twice from watercolor card stock. I ink distressed
the inside piece with two colors of Distress inks and spattered water over it. Two frames
were adhered on a card base and the inked piece was placed into the opening.

I popped up the bear and stamped the sentiment beside him. The card was finished off
with three butterflies from the set.

Visit today's post at My Favorite Things for more ideas and inspiration using the new
Card Kit and Stacey's new release. And comment on all participating Team members'
blogs for a chance to win a $50 prize! Happy Shopping!

Stacey Yacula's Joyful Heart Bears

The mid-month release from Stacey Yacula is Joyful Heart Bears and even though
there's a Valentine theme, I think the bears can be used for any happy occasion.

For my project I chose the adorable heart hugging bear. I stamped him, colored
him with Copic markers, then cut him out with the matching Die-namics.

A tag corner rectangle was lightly inked as a background for the bear.
A piece of patterned paper was adhered to a white card base, then topped with
the panel. I stamped the sentiment, then popped up the bear.

Visit today's Card Kit post for more inspiration from the Creative Team and
get ready to purchase both the Card Kit and Stacey's new release tomorrow,
January 22nd at 10 AM EST in the MFT Store!

MFT Good Time to Wine Card Kit and Stacey Yacula Tweet Friends Release Day

It's time to shop for MFT's Good Time to Wine Card Kit AND the newest Stacey Yacula
Release--Tweet Friends--in the MFT Store!

Before you run off, I'd like to share a couple more cards with you using the Card Kit
and the tweet new set.

I LOVE the sentiments in the Card Kit, and chose to pair one with a row of wine glasses
from Wine Service. I masked off each cup and inked in the wine, then adhered them
to a kraft card base. I white embossed the sentiment and finished off with a strip
of striped patterned paper.

For my "Stacey" card, I stamped the birds in brown hybrid ink and colored them with
Copic markers. I ink distressed a dome piece and stamped some leaves and the
musical notes. The inked piece and frame were adhered to a kraft card base
and topped off with the birds and white embossed sentiment.

So off you go to do your shopping! Thanks so much for stopping by during the
Countdown and don't forget to comment on ALL participating blogs for a chance
to win a $50 MFT gift voucher!

MFT Stacey Yacula Tweet Friends

Besides the release of the December Card Kit, we're introducing Stacey Yacula's
adorable set for December--Tweet Friends, and I created two cards because I couldn't
stop with all the cuteness!

For my first card, I created a starry sky and white embossed the large sentiment.

The chirpy bird was stamped and colored with Prismacolor pencils then cut
with the matching Die-namics and adhered to the card. Because I wanted to
make her the focus of the card, I simply added a shadow to ground her.

The chirpy bird was stamped and colored in browns for my second card. A scene
was created with toadstools and flowers on an ink distressed panel. The panel
was adhered to a card base that was white embossed with a woodgrain background.
A white embossed sentiment finished off the card.

Visit today's countdown post at My Favorite Things for more peeks at the
Card Kit and Stacey Yacula's release. Leave a comment there for a chance to
win a $25 prize, then get ready to shop for both releases tomorrow, Dec 18th at
10AM EST in the MFT Store!

25 Days of Christmas Tags 2018

I'm glad that I found some time to play with Tracey's 25 Days of Christmas Tags 2018.
I've just returned from a week's stay in Tokyo and I was thinking about making tags
while I was there. Here they are.

I was drawn to Gemma's tags on Day 12--the shape, her ink distressing, and how she
simply added a cute critter on each of her tags.

These tags came together quickly because I had both images cut and colored in my
stash of die cuts. Both tag shapes were cut from an old Sizzix set of rounded tags
and ink distressed.

For the penguin tag, I added some snowballs by die cutting white felt and adding
a bit of glittery Stickles on them, and on the snowy bank. The images were popped
up on their respective tags and stamped with a sentiment. Both tags were finished
off with a loop of gray and white twine, and "snow" from Nuvo Crystal Drops.

If you love making tags, visit Tracey's blog for all the details and daily tag inspiration.

Sweet Holiday Penguins Shadow Box

Did you grab Stacey Yacula's Sweet Holiday Penguins set? I'm still over-the-moon excited
that she'll be designing for MFT and I couldn't stop coloring her inaugural set of penguins.

While surfing through MFTv on YouTube, I saw Steph's video on making a shadow box
card from a Release Class project by Torico. Now I'm not a "paper engineer" type of card
maker, but I had to give it a shot. Torico shared a great pictorial in the Release Class pdf,
but I'm such a visual learner that I decided to follow Steph.

I LOVE how this turned out! I used a piece of the new Candy Land paper for the snowy
background. The penguins were clear embossed and colored with Zig markers and a
water brush, then cut with the matching Die-namics.

I followed Steph's video--pausing at each step--and constructed the shadow box. I modified
it to add just one step instead of two, and Snow Drifts in the back. The sentiment was stamped
on the background before the box was closed, and finished off with Sparkling Clear snowflakes.

The best part about this shadow box card? It can be folded flat and sent through the mail. It
fits into an A2 sized envelope but you may need to add extra postage because of the thickness.
But it's so worth it--any recipient would love to receive a shadow box card. Especially one
with cute penguins on it!

MFT Festive Flamingos Card Kit Release

It's time! You may now purchase the Festive Flamingos Card Kit  in the MFT Store!
I have one more project to share with you using this fun and festive kit.

Two flamingos were stamped, colored with Copics, then cut with the matching
Die-namics. I added details to the scarf with a white Gelly Roll pen, and enhanced
their eyes with a black pen. The background was ink distressed with green Distress
inks on watercolor card stock.

The panel was trimmed and adhered to a white card base. I adhered the flamingos
and grounded them with a strip of striped patterned paper. I stmaped the sentiment
and a few twinkle stars around them. I finished off the card by coloring in the spaces
between their legs and antlers with Copic markers.

And don't forget to add Stacey Yacula's Sweet Holiday Penguins to your cart.
These cute critters need a good home!

MFT Stacey Yacula Sweet Holiday Penguins

Fans of artist Stacey Yacula will be thrilled to see her images designed exclusively
for My Favorite Things! This month we're kicking off the release of Sweet Holiday
Penguins--an adorable set of fun loving penguins that come with matching Die-namics
sold separately.

If you've never heard of Stacey Yacula, I'm sure you'll be won over by her artwork.

I created a wintry scene using Snow Drifts Die-namics on Grout Gray card stock.
The three penguins were embossed and colored with Zig markers and a water
brush. I cut them out with the matching Die-namics, then placed them on or
around the snowy banks. The sentiment and stars were stamped with gray ink,
and I added dots with a warm gray Copic marker.

Snowflake Grove

Just in time for the holidays, Stacey Yacula presents Snowflake Grove, a new
collection of adorable images you've come to know and love.

I created a couple of tags with a cute little guy named Snow and the new
Holiday Marquee Sentiments. The sentiments were white embossed on
watercolor card stock and colored over with Zig markers and a waterbrush.

Snow was stamped with permanent ink and the images were die cut with a tag die.
Ribbon was threaded through the tag and a few clear sequins finished them off.

Snowflake Grove goes on sale today exclusively at Purple Onion Designs,
and for a limited time, the ENTIRE collection of 30 unmounted images
is on sale for $100.00. You can find all new stamps here.

and guest designers. There's so much to see and love!
