MFT Wed Sketch Challenge #417

Hello, hello! I hope you all had a wonderful Christmas and that Santa was good to
you, too. And I hope you're ready for this week's Wednesday Sketch Challenge.
Here's Sketch #417.

Here's my take on the sketch, by turning it 90° to landscape format.

Four ink distressed teacups were popped up inside the Gift Box Cover Up that was
double stacked for dimension. A stamped sentiment finished off the card.

CAS(E) this Sketch #302

Are you ready for our last sketch of 2018?
CAS(E) this Sketch #302 is a two-weeker, which means you'll have TWO weeks
to enter the challenge and still have time to enjoy the holidays and after
Christmas shopping!

Here's the sketch from yours truly.

And here's my take on it.

Two champagne glasses were made from cream and gold glitter card stock
and adhered to a white card base. The sentiment was gold embossed on a
strip of vellum and wrapped around the card. Clear "bubbles" were adhered
on the card as a finishing touch.

Remember you have TWO WEEKS to join the challenge and the winner
will be invited to guest with us on a future sketch! Link up your card(s) by
Thursday, January 3rd and we hope to see you in the gallery!
Happy Holidays!

MFT December Birthday Challenge--Time to Shine

Celebrate your friends this holiday season with birthday cards that reflect their love
of sparkle and shine by amping up your projects with glitter, sequins, and metallic accents.

Here's how I amped up my project on a gender neutral card using shiny gold card stock,
 sequins, and gold embossing.

The roofs on the row of colorful houses were tapped with Versamark ink and gold
embossed then adhered to a white card base. The houses were grounded by a strip of
black and white striped paper.

The birthday sentiment was die cut from shiny gold card stock and adhered above the
houses. The card was finished off with small gold sequins.

Visit the Card Challenges blog for all the details on how you can be the random winner
of a $50 MFT gift voucher when you enter the Birthday Project challenge.
Hope to see you in the gallery!

MFT Good Time to Wine Card Kit and Stacey Yacula Tweet Friends Release Day

It's time to shop for MFT's Good Time to Wine Card Kit AND the newest Stacey Yacula
Release--Tweet Friends--in the MFT Store!

Before you run off, I'd like to share a couple more cards with you using the Card Kit
and the tweet new set.

I LOVE the sentiments in the Card Kit, and chose to pair one with a row of wine glasses
from Wine Service. I masked off each cup and inked in the wine, then adhered them
to a kraft card base. I white embossed the sentiment and finished off with a strip
of striped patterned paper.

For my "Stacey" card, I stamped the birds in brown hybrid ink and colored them with
Copic markers. I ink distressed a dome piece and stamped some leaves and the
musical notes. The inked piece and frame were adhered to a kraft card base
and topped off with the birds and white embossed sentiment.

So off you go to do your shopping! Thanks so much for stopping by during the
Countdown and don't forget to comment on ALL participating blogs for a chance
to win a $50 MFT gift voucher!

MFT Stacey Yacula Tweet Friends

Besides the release of the December Card Kit, we're introducing Stacey Yacula's
adorable set for December--Tweet Friends, and I created two cards because I couldn't
stop with all the cuteness!

For my first card, I created a starry sky and white embossed the large sentiment.

The chirpy bird was stamped and colored with Prismacolor pencils then cut
with the matching Die-namics and adhered to the card. Because I wanted to
make her the focus of the card, I simply added a shadow to ground her.

The chirpy bird was stamped and colored in browns for my second card. A scene
was created with toadstools and flowers on an ink distressed panel. The panel
was adhered to a card base that was white embossed with a woodgrain background.
A white embossed sentiment finished off the card.

Visit today's countdown post at My Favorite Things for more peeks at the
Card Kit and Stacey Yacula's release. Leave a comment there for a chance to
win a $25 prize, then get ready to shop for both releases tomorrow, Dec 18th at
10AM EST in the MFT Store!

MFT Good Time to Wine Card Kit

MFT's December Card Kit--Good Time to Wine-- is fun and festive and perfect for cards
for any celebration. Here's a peek at the kit. Visit My Favorite Things for a detailed
description of the kit's contents.

Here's a card I made using the Wine Glass Shaker Window and Wine Glass Pouches
from the kit.

Two wine shaker frames were cut from Grout Gray card stock. A single
stitch frame was adhered to a white card base. Two pouches were adhered
to the shaker frames, filled with sequins then adhered to the card.

The Mondo Cheers Die-namics--the mid-month "free with $60" die--was cut
three times from white card stock. The top diecut was inked in ombré pink
then adhered to the other two for a thicker sentiment, and finally affixed
to the card.

The Good Time to Wine Card Kit will go on sale Tuesday, Dec 18th at
10AM EST in the MFT Store.

Visit today's post at My Favorite Things for more inspiration and peeks
and don't forget to leave a comment there for a chance to win a $25 prize!

Fusion Card Challenge--Christmas Eve Ride

I'm joining the last Fusion Card Challenge of the year mainly because I "discovered"
the Neat and Tangled Cover Plate in my box of NBUS (Darnell's fun acronym for
Never Before Used Schtuff).
http://fusioncardchallenge.blogspot.com/2018/12/fusion-christmas-eve-ride.html
You can either use the sketch or the inspiration photo, and I decided to sort of
do a combination of the two.

After cutting out the entire cover plate of houses, I inked them in bright  colors
with Distress inks and decided to leave the trees white.

I arranged the houses per the sketch, and added the trees, too. The sentiment was
white embossed and I added some snow with a white pigment pen.

Thanks so much for stopping by!

Spellbinders Great, Big, Wonderful World Collection

My friends at Spellbinders sent me a die from their Great, Big, Wonderful World
Collection by Sharyn Sowell to play with. I gasped when I saw this die called
Peace Begins Here. It's huge! And beautiful. And did I mention HUGE?

Here's my larger than normal sized card I created with the die.

I began by die cutting the image from watercolor card stock and purposely did not use a
shim because I wanted the pieces to stay as intact as possible for watercoloring. I wet the
entire piece with clean water, then used my Gambi Tansi watercolors and dropped
color over the piece, letting it blend on its own and not being overly concerned about
the messy look.

After it dried, I placed the die back on the piece and used a shim to cut out the image.
I planned to adhere it to a kraft card base, but didn't want to fuss with dimensional
adhesive on the back. I die cut another piece from 65# card stock and adhered it
to the back, then popped up the piece on the kraft card base with a spray
adhesive. I really like the subtle dimension from the lightweight card stock.

Sharyn Sowell's new collection of dies have a wonderful, homespun feel to them
that remind me of the art of paper cutting--so intricately beautiful.
Visit Spellbinders to see more of Sharyn Sowell's amazing collection of dies!

MFT Wed Sketch Challenge #415

Here's this week's MFT Wed Sketch Challenge #415.

And here's my take on it.

Snowboarding dude was stamped and colored with Copics, then cut with the
matching Die-namics. A piece of watercolor cardstock was ink distressed and
spattered with water, and a circle was cut midway through.

The bear was adhered over the circle, then popped up on the card base.
A white embossed sentiment and snowflake sequins finished off the card.

random winner of a $50 MFT gift voucher when you enter the sketch challenge.
Hope to see you in the gallery!

MFT December 2018 Release and MFT & Friends

Are you ready? It's time to shop for My Favorite Things December Release!
All new goodies can be found here in the MFT Store!

It's also time for MFT & Friends when the Creative Team and guests bring you
more inspiration and fresh ideas using the new Release!

As soon as I saw the new Boutique Die-namics, I envisioned a gift card holder and I'm
pretty pleased with how it turned out.

I die cut most of the pieces in the set and ink distressed the awning. The plants were
colored with Copic markers and a brick pattern was stenciled on the side of the
building. The door and step were cut from kraft card stock.

I placed heavyweight vellum over the window and door and added a couple of pups from
Friends at First Sip. I die cut the stitched rounded panel from Blueprints 33 and white
embossed the sentiment on the top. I used a double row of dimensional adhesive to
pop up the boutique over it.

My slider mechanism is rather crude. I don't really have one. I simply added a pull tab
cut from kraft card stock and adhered it to the back of the gift card for easy removal.

Now let the shopping begin! And remember to visit all team members' blogs, and
our special guests, and comment for a chance to win one of two $100 MFT
gift vouchers by Thursday, December 13th.

Thanks so much for stopping by during the Countdown and happy shopping!
