Merry & Bright

Today I'm sharing a card using an image from Stacey Yacula for Purple Onion Designs.
Stacey's images are so adorable, I couldn't resist picking up a few critters and sentiments.

Meet Walter, a skating penguin who seems to be taking a little break--or he fell on his bum.
I colored him with Copics and used non traditional colors on the card.

I'm linking up my card to The Challenge #19. I chose to work with just the sketch
and what a great sketch it is! Think I'll be using it to crank out a few more cards.

And a heads up that Purple Onion Designs is having their annual holiday sale.
All stamps are 25% off between November 28th thru December 10th, plus
there are several pages of Black Friday-Cyber Monday specials that will also receive
the 25% discount! It's a great time to stock up on some stamps you've been wishing for.

Thanks for stopping by, and happy shopping!

Free Snowman

Today I'm sharing a project at Newton's Nook--something other than a card.
I had to kick it up a notch because their design team is so awesome, a card just wouldn't do.

So here it is--an ornament!

I first cut a 2.5" styrofoam ball in half and adhered some "fake" snow on the cut surface.
I cut and colored the sign from Winter Tails and attached a toothpick to insert  it
in the snowbank. I punched out the "eyes" from black card stock, added the carrot nose,
and placed a few dead twigs for the snowman's arms.

I placed the snowy piece into a 2.75" acrylic ball and snapped it closed.
I finished off the ornament with some twine for hanging and a festive red bow.

I'd like to thank Jen for having me as a guest this month.
You can find all the stamps that I used in the Newton's Nook Designs store.

 Thanks for visiting today!

Inky Paws Challenge #16--CHRISTMAS

(Note: For Tracey's 25 Days of Christmas Tags, please scroll down or click here. Thank you!)

It's Newton's Nook Inky Paws Challenge #16 and the challenge is CHRISTMAS!

Here's my card.

I used the little bear from Winter Tails who's rolling a snowball and
altered the snowball into a Christmas-y orb. The little bluebird was colored
and fussy cut and attached to the top of the bear.
The sentiment is from Beautiful Blizzard.

Visit Newton's Nook for all the details and to see more Christmas inspiration
from the rest of the design team and join the challenge if you can.
You must use at least one Newton's Nook stamps or you can use
one of their free digital stamps here.

25 Days of Christmas Tags

I'm super excited to be a part of Tracey's 25 Days of Christmas Tags!
Today the Tag You're It design team is joining Day 19 with tons of holiday tag inspiration!

Here's my tag, using the cool dude from Paper Smooches--again!--
because he's just too darn cute!

I stamped the gray striped background and added the stitched snowy hills.
The snowman was colored with Copics and the punny sentiment is from the same set.
I added a few snowflakes and specks of snow with a white pigment pen.

Leave a comment on my blog by Thursday, November 27th at 11:59pm EST
to be eligible for awesome prizes from these super sponsors you know and love.

You can also start here at Day 1 for even more chances to win.

CAS(E) this Sketch 101

CAS(E) this Sketch 101 is brought to you by N@ Ali.
A heads up that this challenge is a two weeker, so that you can spend Thanksgiving
with your loved ones and still have plenty of time to enter your card(s).

Here's my take on it.

I used a Spellbinders circle die to cut a circle from acetate and used it as a stencil.
I ink distressed inside the circle with Peacock Feathers, spattered some water, and let it dry
before stamping the little snowdude. He was colored with Copics and I added a few
dots of snow with a white pigment pen. The sentiment comes with the set.

After I took a picture of the card I thought that it kinda sorta reminds me
of a snow globe, no? A happy coincidence and totally unplanned.

I'm also going to link this up to Paper Smooches Sparks Challenge--Anything Goes.
I'm totally smitten with that little snowdude .

Visit CAS(E) this Sketch to see how the rest of the design team
interpreted the sketch and join us if you can.
You have until Thursday, December 4th to link up your card(s).

Thanks for stopping by!

CAS(E) this Sketch 100--A Milestone Celebration!

Can you believe it's Sketch 100 over at CAS(E) this Sketch? Wowza!
Here's the fantabulous sketch by our fearless leader, Chrissy.

I went totally rogue again and flipped the sketch. Here's my card.

I inked up the large chevron from Winnie & Walter with distress inks
and sprayed it each time with water before stamping on watercolor paper.
I added a sprinkling of sequins and the sentiment is an oldie from Simon Says Stamp.

Some past designers are joining us for the 100th Sketch! Visit CAS(E) this Sketch
to see everyone's take and a heads up that there's somethin' special
for the winner of this sketch.

Come join us on this super special challenge and link up your card(s)
by Thursday, November 20th. Hope to see you in the gallery!
