MFT August Release Countdown--Day 4

Aloha! You'll find a tropical theme running through this month's release and
Day 4 of the countdown features Polynesian Paradise from Birdie Brown.

I started off by ink distressing a panel and die cut the stitched rectangle from
Blueprints 24 . The hula girl, toucan, and pineapple were stamped with Chocolate
Brown Hybrid Ink and colored with Copics. The flowers were stamped on Lemon Drop
card stock and I added a touch of pink with a Copic marker. All images were die cut
with their matching dies.

Do you spy a little grass hut? It's the Die-namics Tiki Hut designed by Laina Lamb.
It was so much fun to put together and it's the perfect home for the little hula miss.
I adhered all of the pieces to the card, and finished off with the sentiment.

MFT August Release Countdown--Day 5

It's that time of the month--My Favorite Things Release Countdown!
Today's card features floral goodness, a new set of STAX, and awesome sentiments.

The blooms are the new Scribble Roses set which have matching dies,
but I chose to use just the solid stamps and outlines. The solid stamps were inked
with dye inks and spritzed with water before stamping on watercolor paper,
then stamped with the rose outline when it was dry.

When the panel was completely dried, I stamped Encouraging Words with Black
Licorice Hybrid Ink, then die cut the piece with the stitched panel from Blueprints 25

I used the new Double Stitched Rectangle STAX Die-namics to die cut the
center portion of the design, then popped it up on fun foam after adhering the frame
to a card base. The card was finished off with sequins in coordinating colors.

Thanks for stopping by, and hope to see you tomorrow!

CAS(E) this Sketch 134

Are you ready for CAS(E) this Sketch 134? Here it is, compliments of Chrissy.

And here's my take on it.

You gotta love a penguin with a cocktail! The little guy and palm tree were colored
with Prismacolor pencils and Gamsol--something I haven't used in a while.
I diecut the circle from striped paper and trimmed it to fit the corner of the card.
The sentiment was stamped on a banner flag and all the pieces were adhered.

Visit CAS(E) this Sketch to see how the rest of the team interpreted the sketch
and join us if you can. Link up your card(s) by Thursday, August 6th.
Thanks for stopping by!

MFT Wednesday Sketch Challenge

I'm playing along with MFT's Wednesday Sketch Challenge 239.

Here's my literal take on it.

Totally literal. Right down to the Cross Stitched Circle STAX. I ink distressed
the larger circle with Tropical Teal and Fuse Green dye inks and adhered the adorable,
ice cream lovin' penguin who was colored with Copics.

The sun was also cut with the smallest Cross Stitched Circle from the Dots & Stripes
Sorbet Paper Pack. The sentiment was white embossed on a scrap of brown card stock
and everything was popped up on the kraft card base that was stamped
with the Myriad Dot Background.

Visit MFT Card Challenges for all the details on how you can enter your project
to win up to $20 to shop in the MFT Boutique. And while you're there, see how
the rest of the awesome design team interpreted the sketch. You'll be blown away.
