Camouflage Die Cutting

I've always wanted to try--and maybe I did, once, unsuccessfully--the "camouflage" technique
shared by the uber talented Laurafadora over at Papertrey Ink for their
Make It Monday series. Have you seen her video? I wanted to give it another shot.

Here's my card.

I tried to do ombré inking, but the two red inks were pretty similar. And since I didn't have
any suitable word sentiment dies, I used Papertrey Ink's alphabet dies
for the camouflaged sentiment.

I had to chuckle after I took the photo. Doesn't my card remind you of Santa?
The white = his beard, red = his suit, black = his belt. A deconstructed Santa.

Make It Monday 161--Watercolor Splats

When I saw how Nichole Heady created her watercolor splats, I couldn't wait to get inky
with Papertrey Ink's Make It Monday Challenge. It was my first time ink distressing with
their premium dye inks and I love how the water drops have a bokeh effect.

I applied three of their inks: Raspberry Fizz, Orange Zest, and Harvest Gold
using the new mini ink blending tools. (Love them!)

I followed Nichole's tutorial and added drops of water in varying sizes,
white embossed the Wet Paint sentiment, then added a few butterflies that were
punched out from a second inked piece.

I'm also entering this in Moxie Fab World's Hip on Handwriting Challenge
because the paint brush sentiment is trendy and fun. And I wish that I wrote it.

CAS(E) this Sketch 25--Take Two

Just sharing another card that I made for the latest sketch at CAS(E) this Sketch.

I flipped the sketch 90 degrees and finally inked up the cute coffee-to-go cups
from Papertrey Ink. The sentiment is also from the same set.

Are you playing along with us? Please do!
You have until Tuesday to link up your card here.
Thanks so much for visiting!

Hello sunshine

Happy mail from Neat and Tangled and Papertrey Ink
prompted me to enter this card into Moxie Fab World's Ombre Challenge.

I inked up Watercolor Wonder in several colors of Hero Arts mid tone inks
in ombre fashion--a technique we learned in Clean & Simple Card Making 2.

The sentiment is from Ali Edwards for Technique Tuesday.
And I'm pretty proud of myself for not hoarding the sequins
and actually using them on this card.

Thanks for stoppin' by!
