MFT April Release Countdown--Day 3

It's a festive Day 3 of My Favorite Things April Release Countdown!

For those who celebrate Cinco de Mayo or any happy occasion, we have a
Fiesta Die-namics in a gorgeous font that makes quite a statement on its own.

I admit to feeling like Laurafadora as I was trimming 1/2" strips of colored
card stock in rainbow colors. I adhered a sheet of double stick adhesive to a
black panel and began laying down the strips in rainbow order.

"Fiesta" was cut from silver glitter card stock and adhered to the card. I trimmed
the sentiment from Llama Love and stamped it on the card. The panel was trimmed
and adhered to a black card base and finished off with clear confetti.

MFT April Release Countdown--Day 4

It's Day 4 of My Favorite Things April Release Countdown!

This month's Birdie Brown is weather related, with rain and umbrellas!
She has two stamp sets--Rain or Shine and Puddle Jumper--and I combined
images from both sets on today's project.

I stamped the images from both sets, colored them with Copic markers, then cut
them with the matching Die-namics and set them aside. I die cut a panel of
watercolor card stock with the stitched rectangle die and lay the raindrops
stencil over it. I pressed over the stencil with a Versamark inkpad, then clear
embossed the raindrops.

The sky and ground were ink distressed and the two images were popped up
over it. I stamped the sentiment beneath them and adhered the panel to a
Stone Gray card base. I love that I was able to combine two images (with
umbrellas!) onto one card.

MFT April Release Countdown--Day 5

Welcome to My Favorite Things April Release Countdown!

There's so much cuteness this month, starting with some Too Cute Turtles.
I made a shaped card--one of my favorite cards to make--to go with the
"roundness" of the turtle.

The turtle and bird were stamped and colored with Copic markers then
cut with the matching Die-namics. Three circles were cut from Latté card stock
and I cut one of them with a smaller circle die to form a frame.

I popped up both critters with foam tape and white embossed the sentiment
beneath them. The final touch was adding the enamel dots and googly eyes.
Check out the 3mm one on the bird. It gives them so much personality!

And here's how I created the hinge on the back so the card opens up
and stands nicely for photographic purposes.

new release and don't forget to leave a comment there for a chance to win a

CAS(E) this Sketch #265

Here's this week's CAS(E) this Sketch #265, brought to you by N@ Ali.

And here's my super simplified take on the sketch.

I've had this Reverse Confetti Just Brew It set for ages and finally found a chance
to ink it up. Using the Misti I inked up the coffee mug in three colors of pigment ink,
stamped it, then cut it out with the coordinating die,

I spattered brown ink over the card base and topped it off with a strip of patterned
paper and the coffee mug. A sprinkling of enamel dots finished off the card.

Visit CAS(E) this Sketch to see how the rest of the team interpreted the sketch
and join us if you can. Link up your card(s) by Thursday, April 5th and as the
winner, you'll be invited to guest with us on a future sketch!

MFT Wednesday Sketch Challenge #378

Here's this week's MFT Wed Sketch Challenge. Meet Sketch #378.

And here's my take on the sketch.

I substituted the square with a hexagon shape and adhered it to a striped panel.
Four flowers and a leaf were popped up on the hexagon, and a white embossed
sentiment finished off the card.

winner of a $50 MFT gift voucher. We hope you'll play along with us!

MFT March Hits & Highlights--Pastel Patterned Paper Play

For this month's Hits & Highlights the Creative Team is challenged to use
MFT's collection of pastel patterned papers on our projects.

I usually associate pastels with babies--you too?

I adhered the patterned paper to white card stock, then cut out the scallop
element from Blueprints 1. The little ellie was stamped in gray ink, then
colored with Copic markers and shaded with colored pencils.

I stamped the sentiment, then adhered the elephant who was grounded
with an oval shadow. Another scalloped piece was cut from white card stock
and adhered to the front with a hinge on top so the card can stand on its own.
The finishing touch was a bow borrowed from some bunnies.

took on the Pastel Patterned Paper challenge!

CAS(E) this Sketch #264

Chrissy brings us this week's CAS(E) this Sketch #264.

Here's my take on it. I went the easy route with my stash of neglected washi tape.

I tore off three different designs and adhered them to a white card base, then
went with a fun sentiment from My Favorite Things. Done! Probably the
fastest card I've ever made, ever. It took me longer to stamp the washi tape
which has a pretty slick surface--Archival ink for the win!

Visit CAS(E) this Sketch to see how the rest of my creative teammates
interpreted the sketch and join us if you can. Link up your card(s) by Thursday
March 29th and as the weekly winner, you'll be invited to guest with us on
a future sketch! Hope to see you in the gallery!

MFT Wednesday Sketch Challenge #377

It's time for a new MFT Wed Sketch Challenge. Here's Sketch #377.

And here's my take on it.

I reached for my stash of Painted Flowers--my favorite set of MFT flowers--and adhered
three blooms and leaves on a Stone Gray card base. The "friend" was die cut from Cement
Gray card stock and adhered to the card. The second part of the sentiment was stamped
with Cement Gray ink and the card was finished off with a rounded right corner.

Visit the Card Challenges blog for all the details on how you could be the random
winner of a $50 MFT voucher. We hope you'll play along!

MFT Bundle of Balloons Card Kit Release Day

It's time! You may now purchase My Favorite Things Bundle of Balloons Card Kit
in the MFT Store. Then sit back, cross your fingers and hope that your kit contains
a hot pink balloon with an MFT gift voucher inside!

For today's project, I used the balloons to personalize a Bon Voyage card for my
nephew's 4-year old son who'll be going to Japan next month. We're so excited for
him, and he's excited that he'll get to see Mickey Mouse in Tokyo's Disneyland!

I stamped and colored images from Town Bear and created a tall card to accommodate
the scene. The balloons were cut from primary colors of card stock in the kit as well
as from white card stock to inlay the letters.

The scene was arranged on the card with dimensional adhesive and what took the
longest was tying the strings to each balloon and adhering them to the bear's paw.
I almost gave up and considered drawing in the strings, but I'm glad that I persevered
with the string--the outcome was well worth the effort!

We know you'll enjoy this versatile Card Kit and look forward to seeing your projects.
Be sure to visit all of the Creative Team members and leave a comment by
Thursday, Mar 22nd for a chance to win a $50 MFT gift voucher!
Thanks for stopping by during the countdown. Happy shopping and good luck!

I had some pre-made alcohol ink backgrounds and chose one to use. I trimmed it with
the wonky stitch rectangle die and adhered it to a Latté card base. The balloons were
die cut from gold card stock and adhered to the panel. The sentiment was gold embossed
below the balloons and I drew in balloon strings with a gold marker.

MFT March Card Kit--BUNDLE OF BALLOONS

Are you ready to meet My Favorite Things March Card Kit?

Here's a look at the fun, colorful kit. Visit today's post at My Favorite Things for a
detailed description of the kit's contents.

And to add more excitement to the release, there's a chance for you to WIN one of five
gift vouchers when you purchase a Bundle of Balloons Card Kit!

How awesome is that? I'm picturing customers tearing into their card kit boxes to see
if they're one of the lucky winners! 😉

Here's my card using most of the contents in the kit.

I chose five colors of card stock from the kit and overlapped the balloons so they
would all be "one layer". The balloons were also cut from Silver Glitter card stock
so I could inlay the letters. This month's "free with $60" mid-month die is the
Block Happy Birthday which happens to be the same size as the balloon letters.

The word "BIRTHDAY" was cut from the same colors as the balloons. A Stone Gray
panel was cut with a stitched panel and stamped with Balloon Strings in Versamark ink.
The panel was adhered to a Stone Gray card base and I popped up the balloons and
adhered the sentiment beneath them. I finished off the card with the stamped
sentiment and some silver glittery stars.

Visit today's post at My Favorite Things for more inspiration from the team and
information on the giveaway with the purchase of a kit. Thanks for stopping by today
and I'll be back tomorrow with another card kit project!
