Celebrating Cath Edvalson & Technique Tuesday

Welcome to a very special blog hop, with a collaboration between Technique Tuesday
and Cath Edvalson, featuring her awesome new line of stamps and dies.
I am super thrilled to be a part of this celebration...let's get hoppin'!

I hope you arrived here from Jaclyn Miller's fab blog, or start at the beginning
at Technique Tuesday, because you won't want to miss the inspiration--
and there are prizes for commenting! I'll explain about the prizes
a little further down but first, let me share my project with you.

If you didn't know this little fact about Cath--she's an extraordinary paper cutter.
We're not talkin' paper dolls, but serious, mind blowing paper cutting. Check this out.

Pretty amazing, huh? That design was the inspiration for Heartfelt Thanks,
a set that features a stamp of Cath's gorgeous hand cut heart. Here's my card.

I white embossed the heart on watercolor card stock and ink distressed with
several inks to make the design pop, then flicked some water over the surface.

The sentiment was stamped in Versafine Onyx Black and clear embossed,
then the panel was cut with the rectangle element from MFT's Blueprints 24
and adhered to a white card base. The finishing touch was a sprinkling of sequins.

So let's talk PRIZES! Technique Tuesday is giving away three prize packs.
The first prize is all 5 of Cath's stamps and dies, and Technique Tuesday is also
giving away two $25 gift certificates. Three winners will be chosen at random
from comments left on any of the following blogs. But the more blogs you visit,
and the more comments you leave, the better your chances of winning, right?

                Donna Mikasa (You are here!)

The next blog to visit is Birgit. I can't wait to see her project! Remember if you get lost,
or if there's a broken link, head back to Technique Tuesday for the master list of blogs.

You have until September 16th at midnight PST to comment, and the winners
will be announced on Friday, September 18th over at Technique Tuesday.
Thanks so much for hopping along with us. Enjoy the rest of the hop!

CAS(E) this Sketch 77--Take Two and Three

I'm popping in to share a couple more cards using CAS(E) this Sketch 77.

Yes, I went literal again. And used watercolored dots again.

On the first card, I added some Delicata Gold dots for a bit of shimmer.
The sentiment is a discontinued one from Technique Tuesday.

On the second card, I added some gold sequins.
The dymo label sentiment is from Neat and Tangled.

I think this sketch lends itself to cards for all occasions.
And I really must try it with other shapes.

You still have until May 29th to link up your card(s) for Sketch 77 here,
and as a winner, you may be asked to be a guest designer.
Thanks so much for stopping by!

Watercolor Homework Day 5 and 6

Homework for Day 5 of Online Card Classes Watercolor Class is coloring an embossed image.
I finally got to use some Distress markers and I love how they react to water
and make coloring a breeze.

The sentiment was die cut from gold foil card stock and attached to a vellum band.
A few gold sequins finished off the card.

Day 6 was coloring stamped images and I made a Mother's Day card with the chicks
from Technique Tuesday. I colored each of the chicks with a swish of color and
wasn't concerned about staying within the lines. Although you can't see it well in the photo,
I added some shine to each of the birds with a Wink of Stella pen.

Remember you can sign up here for the class and have lifetime access
to all the lessons. I can't believe I'm saying this, but I'm so looking forward to homework!
Thanks so much for stopping by!

CAS(E) this Sketch 66

Here's CAS(E) this Sketch 66 brought to you by Julie.

And here's what happens when Amy Tangerine meets Technique Tuesday.

The patterned papers are from the new Plus One collection. For contrast,
I die cut the sentiment from bright pink cardstock.

I also swiped the Delicata Gold ink pad on the top of the sentiment for some pizazz
and a few matching sequins finished off the card. And there you have it.
A card with absolutely no stamping. Are you spoiled by dies? I am!

Visit CAS(E) this Sketch to see how my teammates interpreted the sketch
and join us if you can. Just be sure to link up your card(s) by
Thursday, March 6th. Thanks for stopping by!

P.S. Visit CASual Fridays to see if YOU are the winner from yesterday's
post of your choice of stamps or dies from CASual Fridays!
And join us tomorrow for Challenge 129, too.
