CAS(E) this Sketch #334

Our team leader Chrissy brings us this week's CAS(E) this Sketch #334.

My CTS teammie Michele enabled me to get the Mega U die after seeing all
of her amazing cards using it. I'm so glad that I finally got a chance to use it on
my loose interpretation of today's sketch.

Altenew's Painted Fantasy washi tape was adhered to white card stock then die cut
with the Mega U Alphabet Die. I embossed a rectangle on a Grout Gray card base
then adhered the U in the middle. The second part of the sentiment was white
embossed and inked with green Distress ink, then trimmed and adhered to the U.

Visit CAS(E) this Sketch to see how the rest of the team interpreted Chrissy's
sketch and join us if you can. Link up your card(s) by Thursday, August 15th.
Hope to see you in the gallery!

CAS(E) this Sketch #331

Teammie Brian brings us this week's CAS(E) this Sketch #331.

And here's my take on it.

Can you tell that i'm obsessed with Altenew's Painted Fantasy washi tape?
I added a strip of it on the bottom and two ink distressed strips on the side,
then finished off with the sentiment and shadow and sparkling pink sequins.

Visit CAS(E) this Sketch for more inspiration from the rest of the team and

weekly winner, you'll be invited to join us on a future sketch!

2019 Spring/Summer Coffee Lovers Blog Hop

http://coffeelovingcardmakers.com/2019/05/2019-spring-summer-coffee-lovers-blog-hop-2/

It's my favorite season of the year--a Coffee Lovers Blog Hop! Shanna Slater
designed the most perfect logo with a Spring/Summer theme. I LOVE the little
cactus in the polka dot teacup--it's just too cute!

I made a quick shaped card using the Sizzix Mug die and Altenew's wide washi tape.
The beauty of washi tape is that it sticks to card stock. I adhered a piece to white
card stock before die cutting the mug and handle.

The "coffee" inside the cup was cut and colored in with Copic markers then adhered
to the top of the mug. The sentiment was stamped on an oval piece and I added a small
pink heart. The piece was adhered to the mug.

Thanks so much for stopping by and enjoy the hop! Caffeinated hugs to Amy and
her brew crew for a job well done on another successful hop!

CAS(E) this Sketch #316

Teammie Brian brings us this week's CAS(E) this Sketch #316.

Here's what I came up with.

The focal piece is Altenew's wide washi tape adhered to card stock and cut
with a circle die. Striped paper was adhered diagonally per the sketch, topped
off with the circular design and a sentiment. Great sketch, Brian! (And thanks
for the nudge to use my hoarded washi tape.)

Tag You're It Challenge #81

Tag lovers unite! I'm sure you've heard the news--Tag You're It Challenge is back!
I was thrilled when Tracey invited me back on the team with a new bi-monthly
format and new challenge themes, too.

Challenge #80 started on February 1st and today we bring you Challenge #81.
Here's the inspiration for this week--a color challenge.

The challenge is to incorporate Pantone Color for 2019--Living Coral on your tag.
Here's my tag for the challenge.

I used my favorite Altenew bloom and ink distressed and smooshed Abandoned
Coral over all three pieces. Watercolor Stripes was stenciled over a Neat and Tangled
tag and stamped with the hybrid sentiment.

After flicking some black paint over the tag, I assembled the flower then adhered it,
together with the leaves, to the tag. A hand dyed nylon ribbon threaded through the hole
finished off the tag.

Visit Tag You're it Challenge for more inspiration from the members in Group B
and join us if you can! The deadline for submitting your tag(s) is Wednesday,
February 27th. We hope to see you in the gallery!

CAS(E) this Sketch #306

Teammie Brian brings us this week's CAS(E) this Sketch #306.

And here's my take on it by turning the sketch 45°.

The large sentiment was white embossed on watercolor card stock. Three sections were
masked and ink distressed with Distress inks. The panel was spattered with water and
adhered to a white card base. Sequins finished off the card.

Visit CAS(E) this Sketch to see how the rest of the team interpreted Brian's sketch
and join us if you can. Link up your card(s) by Thursday, January 31st.
We hope to see you in the gallery!

Challenge Me a Christmas Card

Blogging friend Michelle Lupton invited me to join her Challenge Me a Christmas
Card and I accepted the challenge. I chose "floral" as the theme for the both of us
and here's what I came up with.

I considered using a poinsettia but opted for a single red rose. Altenew's
Fantasy Floral 3D Dies were cut from watercolor card stock and smooshed with
Distress inks. The leaves were colored with Zig markers and a water brush.

A watercolor panel was trimmed and spattered with black paint, then adhered
to a card base covered with striped patterned paper. The bloom and leaves were
adhered to the panel and finished off with the stamped sentiment.

Big thanks to Michelle for the challenge invitation. Be sure to visit her blog
to see her floral take on the challenge. I haven't seen her card yet, but I know it
will be awesome! Thanks so much for stopping by today.

CAS(E) this Sketch #298

Here's CAS(E) this Sketch #298, compliments of yours truly.

And it's a two-weeker, which means you have two weeks to join the challenge and
still have time to enjoy the (US) Thanksgiving holiday--AND Black Friday shopping!

And here's my take on it.

An Altenew bloom that was already assembled found a home on my card.
I added some details to the leaves with a YG03 Copic marker. Two strips of
dark gray card stock were adhered to a white card base. The flowers and
leaves were adhered to the card and finished off with the sentiment strip.

Visit CAS(E) this Sketch to see how the rest of my teammies interpreted the
sketch and join us if you can. Link up your card(s) by Thursday, Nov 29th
and we hope to see you in the gallery!

Altenew Build-a-Flower Blog Hop + Giveaway

Today I'm using Build-a-Flower Sakura (Cherry Blossom) which was released
last month. I chose this set because the dies appear to be "stand alone" although
they coordinate perfectly with the Sakura stamp set.

I ink distressed the left bottom corner of a piece of watercolor card stock with
Shaded Lilac Distress ink and spritzed on some water for texture and interest.
Three sakura were cut from light pink card stock and ink distressed around the petals.
The stamen were cut from white card stock and inked in the center with yellow ink.

The leaves were cut from light green card stock and the details were stamped on
top, then ink distressed lightly for dimension. I wanted to add a branch for the flowers
to sit on and the Forever and a Day dies fit the bill.

Brown card stock was cut with the dies and highlighted with white pigment ink.
I trimmed the branch into smaller pieces and tucked them under the blooms.
The card was finished off with the stamped sentiment and sequins.

My sponsored company is Altenew whose fresh and trendy stamps, dies, and
stencils are so much fun to play with. Here's my project.

Originally, I wanted to use Altenew's full moon from To the Moon, but proportionally,
it was way too large for the scene. So I cut a circle from Post it paper and after adhering
it to the card, I ink distressed the card in several colors of Distress inks and dabbed on
water with a fine tipped waterbrush. I peeled off the Post it paper from the moon and
inked lightly with gray ink for some lunar texture.

The deer was inked with two colors of Distress Oxide inks and the face and
hooves were inked with black ink. A snowbank was cut by hand and adhered to
the background. It's not easy to see in the photo, but I added Stickles along the
edge of the snowy hill.

The deer was adhered to the card with dimensional adhesive and I drew in shadows
with a Copic marker. The sentiment was silver embossed beneath the moon and the
panel was adhered to a light gray card base.

Altenew 2nd Anniversary Blog Hop

I'm excited and honored to be a part of the Altenew 2nd Anniversary Blog Hop!
There are prizes galore from some fabulous sponsors, and special offers
to help commemorate and celebrate Altenew's milestone.

You should have arrived here from Svitlana's fabulous blog. If not, start
at the Altenew blog and be sure to leave comments along the way.

My card uses the Wild Hibiscus stamp set. I gold embossed the images
on watercolor card stock, then I used Altenew's dye inks to color them.

I used a forgiving technique to paint the images by brushing water inside
the embossed images, then dropping in color and letting it spread on its own.
After letting it air dry, I cut the panel and adhered it to a top folding card.

The sentiment was white embossed on a strip of black card stock and popped up
with dimensional adhesive. I finished off the card with some shiny gold sequins.
I'm the last blog for today's group of designers. The celebration continues
tomorrow at the Altenew blog. Happy hopping and happy shopping!

Note: All winners have been chosen. Visit Altenew here to see if you're a winner!

ALTENEW February 2015 Blog Hop

Welcome to Altenew's first 2015 Release Blog Hop!

You should have arrived here from the amazing Kristina Werner's blog. If not,
start here at the beginning and be sure to leave comments along the way to win prizes!

Not yet a year old, this company was launched in April 2014, and has quickly gained
recognition among paper crafters. All stamps are available for purchase in the Altenew store
and for pre-order at Simon Says Stamp.

I was thrilled with the invitation to join the hop with such a stellar line up! Before I tell you
about the awesome prizes, let me share my cards with you.

The first uses To the Moon, a unique set with lunar images and an assortment
of coordinating sentiments.

After white embossing the moon and sentiment, I ink distressed over it with
three different Distress inks. I spattered the surface with water and white ink
and finished off the card with some glittery stars.
The next two cards use a flower from Floral Motifs, colored in two different ways.

For this card, I gold embossed the flower and colored it in with Copics.
I added some watercolored squiggles on the side and finished off with a sentiment
from Birthday Greetings. Isn't that a gorgeous font?

My last card is an homage to Tasnim and her "no line" watercoloring that she shares
here on You Tube. Please don't stare too closely as I'm still a novice when it comes
to the technique and out of the dozen that I tried, this one looked the best.
The sentiment is also from Birthday Greetings.

Now about those prizes...
To celebrate this release, Altenew is giving away five stamp sets of choice to
three lucky winners! The winners will be chosen from comments left on the Altenew blog.

And there's more! I will choose a winner from comments left on this post
and the prize will be two stamp sets of your choice! How awesome is that?

You have until Friday, February 20th, at 11:59pm EST to leave your comments.
You may enter up to two comments:
1. Comment on the project or the stamps.
2. "Like" Altenew on Facebook and let us know.

The winner will be announced on Saturday, February 21st at 9:00am EST.
Now hop over to Amy's fab blog to see her projects and don't forget to leave comments!
Happy Hopping and Good Luck!
