Today is Day 3 of MFT's July Release Countdown and it's all about Pure Innocence.
This month there are two new images that have matching dies--gotta love that!
My first card uses Clowning Around--a cute little clown that was colored with Copics
and cut with the matching die. The background is the new Split Diagonal Background
that was inked with Orange Fizz dye ink and spritzed with water before stamping
on watercolor paper.
The piece was cut with the Zig Zag Stitched Rectangle STAX and adhered to a smaller
4 Bar sized card base. The sentiment was white embossed on a strip of Orange Fizz
card stock and both the clown and sentiment were adhered to the card.
The second card uses Be Mime--a cute little mime that was also colored with Copics
and die cut with its matching die. The background also uses the Split Diagonal Background
and I used the same technique to ink it up.
The sentiment was white embossed on a strip of Cherry Crisp card stock
and the banner was simply stapled to the card.
Allow me to tell you a funny story on how I colored the mime's face. After I Googled
"mime" I was wondering how do I whiten her face? Do I use a white pigment pen?
White paint pen? I tried both with disastrous results.
Then the ol' light bulb went off. Don't color her face. Use the white card stock
as the base and just color in her ears and neck. Duhhhh!
You may laugh now.....
