MFT April Release Countdown--Day 2

It's two more days until My Favorite Things April Release! Have you got your
wish/want lists ready? All new product will go on sale Tuesday, April 4th at 9PM EST.

I may be a little biased, but I think MFT has trendiest and coolest background stamps.
That being said, meet this month's stamp--Diagonal Design.

The labyrinth pattern reminds me of a maze, so I chose the two part sentiment and
worked on the background. I ink distressed a piece of watercolor card stock with
several colors of Distress inks, sprayed the entire surface of the stamp with water,
then pressed down on the inked piece. Yes, I stamped with WATER instead of ink!

I love how water "bleaches" Distress inks and gives it an entirely different look than
embossing does. The sentiment was gold embossed on a strip of vellum, and die cut
from shiny gold card stock. The card was finished off with sequins.

Visit today's countdown post at My Favorite Things to see more peeks and leave
a comment there for a chance to win a $75 prize!

  3. Gorgeous colors. I have to try your technique with "water stamping." I had to read your technique description a few times before it sunk in but I finally "got it." :) It really turned out nice.
