Ellen Hutson July Color Trend Challenge

Have you heard? Ellen Hutson's popular Pin Sights Challenge will now be known
as the Color Trend Challenge, an inspiration challenge based on the current
color trend of the month.

I'm thrilled to be joining Ellen Hutson's family and friends with this month's
Pantone Palette Quietude. Check out the colors in this photo.

Here's my card partly inspired by last month's trip to northern Japan.
To get a jump start on the color palette, I started on a kraft card base. I decided
to "hang" the bamboo like a canopy rather than have it grow from the ground.
The little girl and her umbrella were stamped and colored with Prismacolor pencils.

Falling flowers were stamped and the sentiment was added to the card.
Highlights were added as a finishing touch with a white Gelly Roll pen.

  1. This is so lovely, Donna! How cleaver you are to use the bamboo stamp upside down and to make it look like a canopy! Love the beautiful ombre ink-distressing, the pretty pencil coloring and the gentle stamping of the falling flower. No wonder the little girl looks so happy! Hideko xx
P.s. Two other umbrellas are hidden somewhere, right? ;-P
