ALTENEW February 2015 Blog Hop

Welcome to Altenew's first 2015 Release Blog Hop!

You should have arrived here from the amazing Kristina Werner's blog. If not,
start here at the beginning and be sure to leave comments along the way to win prizes!

Not yet a year old, this company was launched in April 2014, and has quickly gained
recognition among paper crafters. All stamps are available for purchase in the Altenew store
and for pre-order at Simon Says Stamp.

I was thrilled with the invitation to join the hop with such a stellar line up! Before I tell you
about the awesome prizes, let me share my cards with you.

The first uses To the Moon, a unique set with lunar images and an assortment
of coordinating sentiments.

After white embossing the moon and sentiment, I ink distressed over it with
three different Distress inks. I spattered the surface with water and white ink
and finished off the card with some glittery stars.
The next two cards use a flower from Floral Motifs, colored in two different ways.

For this card, I gold embossed the flower and colored it in with Copics.
I added some watercolored squiggles on the side and finished off with a sentiment
from Birthday Greetings. Isn't that a gorgeous font?

My last card is an homage to Tasnim and her "no line" watercoloring that she shares
here on You Tube. Please don't stare too closely as I'm still a novice when it comes
to the technique and out of the dozen that I tried, this one looked the best.
The sentiment is also from Birthday Greetings.

Now about those prizes...
To celebrate this release, Altenew is giving away five stamp sets of choice to
three lucky winners! The winners will be chosen from comments left on the Altenew blog.

And there's more! I will choose a winner from comments left on this post
and the prize will be two stamp sets of your choice! How awesome is that?

You have until Friday, February 20th, at 11:59pm EST to leave your comments.
You may enter up to two comments:
1. Comment on the project or the stamps.
2. "Like" Altenew on Facebook and let us know.

The winner will be announced on Saturday, February 21st at 9:00am EST.
Now hop over to Amy's fab blog to see her projects and don't forget to leave comments!
Happy Hopping and Good Luck!

Mini Pet Notecards

Today I'm up on the Hero Arts blog sharing some playful pet notecards
that feature matching toys and accessories. Here's a look at one of the cards.

The dog bone and other accessories come with matching dies--a big plus
for the scissors challenged (like me!). And I turned a background stamp 90 degrees
for a totally different look.

Visit the Hero Arts blog to see more pets and accessories and find out
what background stamp I used. Hint: It's nautical.

Thanks for stopping by today!

Tag You're It Challenge 15

This week's inspiration photo for Tag You're It #15 is a card that I designed but never shared.
It features the "no line" watercoloring technique that Tasnim shared a while back.

And here's my tag.

I was inspired by the colors of the origami fish, and inked up the jewels and sentiment
from WPlus9. All the jewels were colored with Copics and I added a sprinkling of sequins
and finished off the tag with a bit of washi tape.

Visit Tag You're It to see how my teammates were inspired, and join us if you can.
You have until Wednesday, February 25th to enter your tag(s) and the winner
will have the opportunity to guest design on a future challenge!

Hope to see you in the gallery!

CAS(E) this Sketch 110

Here's CAS(E) this Sketch 110, brought to you by our teammie Leigh.

And here's my take on it.

I was tempted to flip the sketch but stayed true to it this time.
After inking a piece of watercolor paper with Distress inks, I die cut Hero Arts
gorgeous chrysanthemum and attached and trimmed it to nestle the corner.
The hybrid sentiment is by Papertrey Ink and Studio Calico.

Visit CAS(E) this Sketch to see how the rest of my teammates interpreted the sketch
and join us if you can. Link up your project(s) by Thursday, February 19th.

Thanks so much for stopping by!

CAS(E) this Sketch 109

Are you ready for CAS(E) this Sketch 109? Here it is, brought to you by Sam.

And here's my take on it.

I'm smitten with the Mama Elephant chickies. After coloring them with Copics,
I die cut and attached them to the card along with some dotty paper
from Papertrey Ink. The sentiment is from WPlus9.

Please stop by CAS(E) this Sketch to see how my teammates interpreted the sketch
and join us if you can. Link up your card(s) by Thursday, February 12th.

Thanks for stopping by!

Thankful

Today on the Hero Arts blog I'm sharing a card using the stencil + water technique.
Here's a glimpse of the card.

Visit Hero Arts for the full card reveal and instructions
on how the card was made.

All products from the Hero Arts 2015 Spring Catalog have been shipped

CAS(E) this Sketch 108

Here's CAS(E) this Sketch 108 from former teammate Gayatri.

And here's my take on it.

I inked up Sweet Havana again and followed the sketch with a striped background
from My Favorite Things. I love how the colors pop against the black stripes.

Please stop by CAS(E) this Sketch to see how my teammates interpreted the sketch
and join us if you can. Link up your card(s) by Thursday, February 5th.

Simon Says Stamp Flickr Challenge 11--LOVE

It took me to reach Challenge 11 to finally enter Simon Says Stamp's Flickr Challenge.
The theme is LOVE and it was the perfect time for me to use new Simon goodies.

The Sketch Heart was die cut from a piece of watercolored scrap and
I puzzle pieced a contrasting color for the inner part of the heart.

I doubled up the die cut sentiment from metallic gold cardstock and the dots
and sentiment are from the coordinating stamp set.

And that's a wrap. Thanks for stopping by today!
