CAS(E) this Sketch #336

Teammie Brian brings us this week's CAS(E) this Sketch #336.

I turned the sketch 90° counterclockwise and came up with this.

Once again, a scrap of an alcohol inked piece saved the day. I cut the bottom
with a wavy Die-namics and adhered it to a card. I popped up the dolphin and very
carefully white embossed the sentiment. Yupo paper will warp badly if heated too
high with a heat gun so I took about 20 swipes back and forth, making sure it
wouldn't curl. And it didn't!  Rounded corners and sequins finished off the card.

Visit CAS(E) this Sketch to see how the rest of the team interpreted Brian's
sketch and join us if you can. Link up your card(s) by Thursday, August 29th
and as the weekly winner you'll be invited to join us on a future sketch!

CAS(E) this Sketch #333

CAS(E) this Sketch #333 is a retro one from former teammie Leigh.

Here's my take on it back in 2015, and whaddya know, I used "the cow."

And here's my updated 2019 version.

Two fishtail banners were cut from patterned paper and two Bitty Bears were stamped,
colored and cut with the matching Die-namics. They were adhered to a Primitive
Cream card base per the sketch and finished off with the white embossed sentiment.

weekly winner you'll be invited to join us on a future sketch!

MFT July 2019 Release and MFT & Friends

It's time! My Favorite Things July Release is waiting for you in the MFT Store!
All spankin' new goodies can be found right here.

It's also time for MFT & Friends when the Creative Team and guests share more ideas
and inspiration with the July Release.

I made a slider card, pairing the new  Swimming Pool Die-namics and the cutie from
Drink Up the Sunshine and it turned out exactly as I had planned.

There are many video tutorials out there, but this one from MFT teammate Stephanie
was the one that I used. I inked the brick pattern with white pigment ink for the pool deck
and popped in the pool that was ink distressed and spattered with water.

I stamped the sentiment, then added the little bird and finished assembling the slider
following the video. I'll admit to pausing the video and rewinding it numerous times but
it was so worth it--I love how this card turned out!

And during the month of July, MFT will donate 10% of retail sales of Drink Up the Sunshine
stamp and Die-namics to Children Incorporated. How generous is that?

Here's a bonus card that I made and I wish that you could see her wobble.

I followed a tutorial by Jennifer McGuire on having a floating element on your
card. It was easy to construct on an alcohol ink background that I made to
resemble the ocean. Isn't she the cutest with her sassy shades?

All right, off you go! And today's the day to visit all team members' blogs and leave
a comment by Thursday, July 11th for a chance to win one of two $100 MFT gift
vouchers. Thanks so much for stopping by during the Countdown, and happy shopping!

MFT September Release Countdown Day 4

Birdie Brown brings us Fall Friends on Day 4 of My Favorite Things September
Release Countdown. What's not to love about a little girl sitting on a giant pumpkin?

The little girl and extra pumpkins were stamped and colored with Copics, then cut
with the matching Die-namics. The leaves in the set were stamped on a kraft card
base with Versamark ink for a tone on tone look, then topped with a stitched frame.

All the images were popped up on the card and the stamped sentiment finished
off the card.

Visit today's countdown post at My Favorite Things for more inspiration from
participating team members. Don't forget to leave a comment there to win a prize.
Thanks for stopping by today!

Here's my take on it with some Birdie Brown Bitty Bears.
Because they're so darn cute!

Patterned paper was adhered to a white card base, then covered with a scallop edge
piece. Three bears were stamped, colored with Copics and cut with the matching dies.
I adhered them to the card, and added the white embossed sentiment strip.
The card was finished off with three small hearts.

A Birdie Brown Revisit--Witch Way is the Candy?

Birdie Brown brings back a Halloween favorite--Witch Way is the Candy?
The images have been tweaked and the set has brand new sentiments
in Birdie Brown's trademark font.

I missed getting this set before it was retired, so I'm happy to see a revival--
just in time for Halloween! Today I'm sharing two cards with this set.

The little witch was stamped and colored with Copics, then cut with the matching
Die-namics. White dots were added to her dress with a Gelly Roll pen. Smaller
images in the set were stamped with Grout Gray ink on a white card base.

I adhered the sentiment strip and the witch was popped up over it with
dimensional adhesive. Glittery gold enamel dots finished off the card.

My second card uses the smaller images in the set. The three images were stamped
and colored with Copic markers, then cut with the matching Die-namics. A top
folding, Smooth White card base was covered with patterned paper and set aside.

The Stitched Peek-a-Boo Windows and Edge were cut from white card stock
and the inside portion of the windows were ink distressed. All pieces were adhered
to the card and the critters were popped up inside each window. The card was
finished off with the white embossed sentiment and a few sequins.

Both the X's and O's Card Kit and Witch Way is the Candy? will go on sale tomorrow,
August 22nd at 9PM EST in the MFT Store!

All you need is LOVE

Hello there! I decided to take the plunge and enter Ribbon Carousel's latest challenge to incorporate paper piecing on your card.

The sponsor for the challenge is Birdie Brown. I happened to have a collection of her cute digis, and a TON of patterned paper so the decision to enter was an easy one.

Here's my card using two of Torico's adorable images found in her Etsy store. Truth be told, I originally colored both images with Copics, but I wasn't completely happy with the way the umbrella turned out. Paper piecing it made me happy, and fit the requirement for the challenge!

I added a bit of twine and drew in some faux stitching lines. Although you can't see it, there's a bit of Glossy Accents on the raindrop and the little smiley face, too.

I hope you're all having a great week. Thanks so much for stopping by!
