This week's CAS(E) this Sketch is a retro one from former teammate Sam.
This was my take on it back in 2016.
And here's my updated version.
I substituted Altenew's Mega Alphabet U--covered with their floral washi tape--
for the rectangular element on the sketch. White paint was spattered on a kraft
card base then topped with the U.
A bloom was fussy cut from the same washi tape and popped up over the U.
A white embossed sentiment and rounded right corner finished off the card.
And at the last minute, I scored a few lines on the top of the card for balance.
Visit CAS(E) this Sketch to see how the rest of the team interpreted this
retro sketch and join us if you can. Link up your card(s) by Thursday,
January 23rd and as the weekly winner you'll be invited to join us
on a future sketch--and we hope you will!
I love your take on this sketch! so "U"Nique (had to say it) I've never seen such wide washi tape ~ very versatile, and I pretty colors too.
ReplyDeleteThey are beautiful cards. Thanks for the inspirations for this challenge, Donna ❤️
ReplyDeleteJust love both cards, Donna! Thanks for the inspiration - Cindy reminded me to come to CAS(E) so I'll try to play more often!
ReplyDeleteThis is so clever!! I like your first card but LOVE the second!! That is a cool way to use the U!
ReplyDeleteThe panda card is so cute, and the “U” with the fussy-cut washi tape flower is so beautiful and elegant.
ReplyDeleteThe matching ink distressed green sentiment strip is a really nice touch.
I bought the Mega die and the floral washi tape after seeing your wonderful cards, but I haven’t had the chance to use them!
