MFT March Release Countdown--Day 4

It's Day 4 of My Favorite Things March Release Countdown and this month,
Birdie Brown introduces Strike Up the Band.

Both of my daughters were "band geeks" in high school and I'm proud to say that
they represented Hawaii and marched in the Rose Bowl and Macy's Thanksgiving
Parades. So today I'm sharing two cards to remember those happy occasions.

For both cards, I inked Distress and dye inks on watercolor card stock, then spattered
water over the surface. After they were dry, I cut them with Wonky Stitched Rectangles.

All the band members were stamped and die cut with the matching dies. I was
planning to leave them uncolored, but decided to add just a hint of color with Copics.
Enamel dots and sequins finished off both cards.

Stop by today's countdown post at My Favorite Things for more peeks of the new
release, and leave a comment there for your chance to win a $75 gift voucher!

MFT March Release Countdown--Day 5

Welcome to Day 5 of My Favorite Things March Release Countdown.
Get ready for some awesome new stamps, stencils, papers, and so much more!

This month Lisa Johnson Designs presents a gorgeous Spring Wreath--
just in time to greet the new season.

I inked up the wreath twice with Distress inks, and stamped a double wreath
after spritzing the images lightly with water. After letting it dry, I used the
new scalloped rectangle element from Blueprints 27 and die cut the image
slightly off center for a bit of interest.

Flowers and leaves were inked with Distress inks and spritzed with water
before stamping, then die cut with the matching dies when they were dried.
I assembled them on the bottom of the wreath and curled up the edges
to give them some dimension.

I stamped the sentiment and adhered the panel to a Stone Gray card base.
I finished off the card with a few Pretty Pink Posh Clear Droplets, which are now
being sold in the MFT Store.

Be sure to visit today's countdown post at the MFT blog, to see more projects
from the rest of the design team and leave a comment there for your chance
to win a $75 Gift Voucher to shop for new goodies!

CAS(E) this Sketch 161

Here's CAS(E) this Sketch 161 brought to you by N@ Ali.

And here's my take on it.

I flipped the sketch to accommodate the bear and his stack of presents.
The image was colored with Copics and colored pencils, then die cut with
the matching dies. Plaid paper was cut with the rectangle element from
Blueprints 24 and adhered to a top folding card. I adhered the bear, stamped
the sentiment, and added a few enamel dots.

Be sure to visit CAS(E) this Sketch to see how my teammates interpreted
the sketch and join us if you can. Link up your card(s) by Thursday, March 3rd
and as a winner, you'll be invited to be a guest designer on a future sketch!

Tag You're It Challenge #41

I'm playing along with Tag You're It Challenge #41 with inspiration
from Kara and her adorable tag.

Here's my take on her tag. I was inspired by the two critters
and happened to have this mama polar bear and her cub in my scrap pile.

After die cutting the tag from watercolor card stock, I ink distressed with
several colors of Distress inks and spattered some water over the tag.
I adhered the two bears and stamped the sentiment. I happened to have
a 12" length of coordinating ribbon that was a perfect match with the tag.

I'm off to link up my tag and peruse the gallery. Thanks for stopping by!
