I found some time to make a card for Online Card Classes newest class--
Simply Watercolor Christmas.
Here's my card for Day 1 which involved masking. I struggled more with the blue
painter's tape than with the actual watercoloring.
And I should have stuck to just one tree because that floating tree in the middle
just looks so odd. I thought about touching up the tree with a darker color but left it
as it is. For entertainment.
The one thing I'm happy about is the saved sentiment that fell out of the stamp pouch.
It was stamped, embossed, and die cut out of the strangest color. But it fit perfectly on
the card because black or brown would have been too much of a contrast.
This particular class couldn't have come at a better time. If you've never taken a class,
give this one a try. You'll have lifetime access to class lessons and videos and you can move
at your own pace.
I'm hoping to keep up with the daily lessons. Wish me luck!
Beautiful!!!
ReplyDeleteThis is wonderful with all the trees lined up. I also struggled with the blue tape but if you do what both girls said - use a heat gun to heat the tape and use a bone folder to push them down, that seemed to help me and they did not tear for me. Great card! See you in class. I can't wait to see what is on Day 2.
ReplyDeleteI love this take on the Day 1 trees! I need to try this on a slimline card. I have the purple tape, which is not sticking to my paper at the end. But some paint can get under the tape if I am not careful.
ReplyDeleteI love that you've created a forest of trees! It's wonderful how the shades vary and how they overlap each other! I'm hoping to get some painting done today!
ReplyDeleteI just love it. The multiple trees is a lovely idea. I just love the colors too! You did a bang up job on this assignment! See you in class
ReplyDeleteHow creative! I love your group of trees!
ReplyDeleteLove the repeat of the trees!
ReplyDeleteYour “entertainment” comment made me smile! I do like your line of trees - clean and simple and happy!
ReplyDeletePretty line of trees, Donna! I've had issues with the blue painter's tape too (especially with watercolor paper).
ReplyDeleteEnjoy the rest of the classes!
