It's Word Week over at JUGS Challenge #783 and the cue word is WATER.
Since it's summer, the water that I chose was the ocean. I'm sure I won't be alone
on that idea. Here's my card with a DIY beach scene.
I have stamps and stencils of an ocean shoreline, but in the end I decided to create
one of my own. I inked watercolor card stock in various shades of blue and spritzed
a good amount of water to mimic splashing waves.
The "sand" was created on kraft card stock, torn for an uneven look. I applied
Versamark ink to the edge and heat embossed with white embossing powder.
making sure to show as much ocean water as possible. The panel was then adhered
to a postage frame.
challenge blog for all the details and deadline. We'd love to see you in the gallery!
Donna, you've created a most inviting beach scene; one I'd love to step into to enjoy the cool breeze coming off the ocean and listen to the lapping of the waves as I settle under an umbrella to read a good book. Such a fabulous way to showcase this week's water theme.

Your beach looks so peaceful. I love it!
ReplyDeleteDonna, I don't have any experience with an ocean but would love to dip my toes into yours! Not a jellyfish, or shark in sight!!
ReplyDeleteFabulous way to add that sandy shoreline, my friend! let's jump in and leave all our worries [and flip flops] behind!

Donna... I couldn't love a water card more! Thanks so much for sharing how you created... the ocean edge is perfect. I live on the intercoastal in Florida and water is 25 feet from the lanai (very hurricane prone) but I alway always a great water technique. I like sending "beach" cards! Thanks for being with us this month... you have always been one of my most inspirational cardmakers.
ReplyDeleteI would be happy to sit under that pretty little umbrella and enjoy those splashing waves! What a darling scene you've created, Donna! Love this!
