Peppermint Polly

I was so excited when Peppermint Polly arrived in my mailbox last week. I've wanted her for so long and saw so many cute cards made with her--I couldn't wait to ink her up!

I paper pieced her dress with some papers from Basic Grey's Kissing Booth collection, and colored the flower and her scarf with Copics. To ground her, I drew in some grass with Copics and cut the image out with Reverse Wonky Rectangles.

The sentiment is a sticker from SRM Stickers and yes, I trimmed away the oval that was around the sentiment. I drew white dots on her dress and added some dots on her flower (alá my friend Kathy Racoosin) with a Signo pigment pen.

Polly is so adorable and just seeing her face makes me smile. I know I'll be using her on cards for different occasions, so you will probably be seeing her again.

I hope you're all off to a great week. Thanks so much for stopping by today!

Got eggs?

How about some cracked eggs? There's a sale on Stephanie Ackerman's whimsical Cracked Egg series at Purple Onion Designs. Check them out here.

Stamps used: Cracked Egg--Bouquet, Homegrown Sentiments

I made a quick card with Cracked Egg--Bouquet. I stamped the image on watercolor paper with Archival ink and colored it with Memento ink pads and a colorless blender.

Different colors were tapped on an acrylic block and picked up with the blender. I love this coloring technique! It makes me feel like I'm watercoloring, without the water or the watery mess.

I added some Rock Candy Distress Stickles to the flowers. When it dries, it looks like sprinkled sugar--such a neat effect!

The sentiment is from the Homegrown Sentiments set. I rounded off one corner of the card, and added some faux stitching with a brown Sharpie extra fine pen.

Check out the other Cracked Eggs which are perfect for Easter, and are now on sale at great savings when you purchase them in a set of three.

Thanks so much for stopping by, and have a wonderful weekend!

Wryn--Spring Bling

Here's another new Wryn in the Tiddly Inks family: Wryn--Spring Bling. Isn't she sweet? The image totally reminds me of Spring. I colored her with Copics and added some grass for a bit of dimension.

I used both the Martha Stewart hydrangea border punch and the 3-in-1 hydrangea punch with papers from Making Memories. I usually don't decorate the inside of my cards, but this time, I used the perfect sentiment from Tiddly Inks, and added a sprinkling of flowers and pearls.

You can find all the new Wryn images on sale now in the Tiddly Inks store. And stop by the Tiddly Inks blog to see more sweet ideas from the design team.

Thanks, always, for stopping by!

Howdy!

There's a new kid in town over at Tiddly Inks--Wryn Howdy Cowgirl. She's the cutest gal with her adorable hobby horse, and snazzy cowgirl boots!

I colored her with Copics and gave her a little pop of red on her vest. I used Reverse Wonky Rectangles to cut everything out, including the frame, which was stamped with Hero Arts' Raindrop Background.

I finished the card off with a sentiment from SRM Stickers.

Now mosey on over to Tiddly Inks to see another new Wryn, and be inspired by the amazing work by the Tiddly Inks gals. Wryn Howdy Cowgirl is now on sale in the Tiddly Inks store, and you'll want to lasso her right up and start colorin' her--she's that cute!

Thanks so much for stoppin' by...

love lives here

Playing with some Purple Onion Design stamps and sharing another Valentine card. I love Stephanie Ackerman's Home Sweet Home set. There are a lot stamps in the set with so many possible combinations.

I paper pieced the house, heart, and sun with papers from My Mind's Eye. The card base is Spellbinders Labels One. The sentiment and flowers are also from the set, and I added some faux stitching lines with a white pigment pen.

And here's a shot of the Valentine cards that I sent to Winter Sims for her recent card drive. I rummaged through my card stash and found some extra cards that fit the Valentine theme. I hope it cheers up a lot of children in hospitals this Valentine's Day.

Thanks for stopping by today, and have a crafty week!
