Before you go, I'd like to share one more project using Ewe and Me Forever--
with the cutest sheep that can be used for any occasion.

Two sheep were stamped and colored with Copics, then cut with the matching
Die-namics. A stitched dome was cut from watercolor card stock and ink distressed
then spritzed with water. I adhered the piece to a white card base, then added the
fence on top.

The two sheep were popped up over the fence and pink hearts were added. I finished
off the card with the sentiment and a strip of patterned paper.

MFT January Release Countdown--Day 1

It's the last day of My Favorite Things January Release Countdown!

Have you got your wish lists ready? Get ready to purchase the new release
tomorrow, January 9th at 9PM EST in the MFT Store!

Today I'm sharing a project using a new stencil, an awesome sentiment,
and this month's "free with $60" die.

After ink distressing watercolor card stock with Distress inks, I wet the
Full of Heart stencil and placed it on the inked surface and left it on for
about a minute. The result is a reverse stenciled image made with water.

The sentiment was white embossed and the panel was cut with the wonky
stitched rectangle die. The stitched heart was cut into the sentiment. Three
more hearts were cut and layered and topped with the colored heart.

The panel was adhered to a pink card base and the stacked hearts were
placed in the negative space, matching up the sentiment. The card was
finished off with some clear sequins.

Visit today's Countdown post at My Favorite Things for more peeks at the
new release and don't forget to leave a comment there for a chance to win a
$75 prize. Hope to see you tomorrow for Release Day!

MFT January New Release Countdown--Day 2

It's two more days until My Favorite Things January Release!
All new products go on sale Tuesday, January 9th at 9PM EST in the MFT Store.

Today I'm sharing two cards made with the Full of Heart Die-namics. I began by
die cutting the cover up on an ink distressed panel, and kept the hearts intact
because I wanted to pop them all up on the card. Using the negative piece to
line them up was the best way to ensure that I'd get perfect rows.

I flipped the panel over and adhered half pieces of foam squares on each heart,
then turned it over and pushed the hearts onto a Cement Gray card base.

The sentiment was white embossed on a fishtail banner and adhered to the card.

For the second card, I simply adhered the negative space panel onto a black card
base, then added the white embossed sentiment. Two cards, done!

January Release, and more inspiration from the Creative Team. And don't
forget to leave a comment there for a chance to win a $75 prize!

MFT January Release Countdown--Day 3

We're now halfway to My Favorite Things January Release! All new products
will go on sale Tuesday, January 9th at 9PM EST in the MFT Store.

Today I'm sharing this month's Pure Innocence called Blowing Kisses together
with a new background stamp and word Die-namics, all on one card.

First, the background is Marble Background, and I did tone on tone stamping with
Versamark ink on Latté card stock. The little Pure Innocence girl was stamped and
colored with Copics, then cut with the matching Die-namics.

Watercolor card stock was inked with Candied Apple Distress ink and spattered
with water, then cut with the LOVE YOU word die. I saved the negative portion
of the sentiment and adhered only the letters to the card. The little girl was
popped up next to the sentiment and the card was finished off with some twine.

release and don't forget to leave a comment there for a chance to win a $75 prize.

MFT January Release Countdown--Day 4

Welcome back to My Favorite Things January Release Countdown!

Day 4 introduces Birdie Brown's Viking--a handsome Norseman stamp set with
punny sentiments and matching Die-namics, sold separately.

I stamped him with the new Extreme Black Hybrid ink since I was going
to color him with Copic markers. The background was ink distressed with
Distress inks and spritzed with water. Icebergs were cut from kraft card stock
and I white embossed the peaks to resemble snow.

After cutting the panel with the tag corner rectangle die, I adhered it to a Latté
card base and assembled all the pieces on it, popping up the Viking with foam
tape and finishing off with the sentiment. Isn't he a handsome dude?

new release and leave a comment there for a chance to win a $75 prize.

Tag You're It--A Recollection of Tags

Tracey McNeely has officially closed the Tag You're It Challenge so she
asked former DT members to take a walk down memory lane and share our
favorite tag. Here's mine.

This was back in June of 2014 and Jackie Rockwell, the creator of the challenge
invited me to be on the design team. Being a lover of tags, I accepted and began
my tag making journey.

I liked this tag because it was cute and colorful and the little umbrella probably
had a little something to do with my choice (Wink!) I even managed to put the tag
onto a card.

Here's a collage of just some of my tags I created while I was on the design team
until June 2015.

Thanks, Tracey, for taking over the challenge from Jackie and running it so well.
Tag You're It will be missed but not forgotten, and hopefully return one day soon

MFT January Release Countdown--Day 5

Welcome to My Favorite Things January Release Countdown!

This month's release is full of hearts and cuteness to help you create
Valentine projects for all your loved ones.

Today I'm sharing a card with Raving Raccoons--an adorable set of critters
and super sweet sentiments.

The raccoons were stamped with the new Extreme Black Hybrid ink and
colored with Copic markers, then cut with the matching Die-namics. Highlights
and details were added with a white Gelly roll pen.

Whimsical Woodgrain was stamped on a Latté card base with Versamark ink.
The largest stitched heart was cut from watercolor card stock and ink distressed
with several red Distress inks.

The heart was adhered to the card base and the raccoons were added with
dimensional adhesive. The card was finished off with the white embossed
sentiment that was cut with a fishtail banner die.

CAS(E) this Sketch #253

Happy New Year and welcome back to CAS(E) this Sketch!

We are so excited to have Brian King on board as a new team member! Brian has
faithfully entered CTS challenges whenever he could, and would always blow us away
with his creative takes on the sketch. Please visit his blog and give him a warm welcome.

Now on to the first sketch of the year. Sketch #253 is a retro one from N@Ali.
Remember this little number?

Here's my take on it back in January 2015.

https://casethissketch.blogspot.com/2015/01/case-this-sketch-107.html

And here's my revised 2018 version.

After preparing a top folding card base, I covered the top portion with a piece
of striped paper. Three flowers and leaves were adhered per the sketch and I
finished off the card with the stamped sentiment.

Visit CAS(E) this Sketch to see how the rest of the team interpreted the sketch
and join us if you can. Link up your card(s) by Thursday, January 11th and as
the winner, you'll be invited to join us on a future sketch--and we hope you'll accept!

Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge January Designer Spotlight

(Note: For my MFT Wed Sketch Challenge post, please click here or scroll down.
Thank you!)

wed-designerspotlight-header
 Happy New Year!
I'm super excited to be invited back in Simon Says Stamp's Wednesday Challenge
Designer Spotlight for January. It's such a great way to start the New Year!

This week the challenge theme is SOMETHING NEW and we are using Hero Arts
products on our projects. You don't have to use Hero Arts on your projects, but if you
have some, then feel free to use them in the challenge.

For my project, I did the inlay die cutting technique with the gorgeous
Hero Arts koi. After stamping the sentiment on a Bristol card base, I die cut
the koi through the panel. I used a combination of Zig markers and gold
watercolors to color the koi.

Three more koi were cut from white card stock and adhered together with the
colored koi on the top. The panel was adhered to a black card base and the koi
was popped into the negative space. Gold spatters and dots from a black
Gelly roll pen finished off the card.

MFT Wednesday Sketch Challenge #366

It's a new year and My Favorite Things has a slew of Wednesday sketches for you!
Here's Sketch #366.

And here's my simplified take on it.

Flowers and leaves were inked and cut with the matching dies. Three mod squares
were cut from Stone Gray card stock and the flowers and leaves were adhered to them.
The squares were then popped up on a Cement Gray card base and the card was
finished off with the white embossed sentiment on a fishtail banner.

Visit the Card Challenges blog for all the details on how you could be the random
winner of a $50 MFT gift voucher and come and join the challenge!
