MFT Wednesday Sketch Challenge 259

I'm playing with MFT's Wednesday Sketch Challenge 259 and it looks like this.

Yep, I went totally literal again. That's just how I roll.

I white embossed the Lace Background on Grout Gray card stock, then
used the curved corner element from Blueprints 20 to cut out the panel.
I ink distressed it lightly with Grout Gray ink and adhered it to a
Smooth White card base.

I wanted to add a pop of color so I inked up the label sentiments
in Razzle Berry ink, and fussy cut them out. I adhered them to the card
and finished off with some white pearls.

Sending Lots of Love

Have you seen Simon Says Stamp's Die-cember collection?

They came out with exclusive new wafer dies and I received an adorable
mailbox die set to play with called Send My Love.

 

The mailbox diecut is actually closed, but I opened it up by using a contrasting
card stock color for the inside of the mailbox. All the pieces, including the sentiment,
were cut from scraps of card stock. I grounded the mailbox with a patch of
grassy border, and the two part sentiment is from an older SSS set.

I adhered all of the pieces to a rectangle scalloped panel then mounted onto a
card base with dimensional adhesive. I love how this card turned out!
In hindsight--are those hearts of love escaping even before they were sent?
Hmmmm.........

Holiday Coffee Lovers Blog Hop

HAPPY NATIONAL COCOA DAY!

I'm linking up to the Holiday/Winter Coffee Lovers Blog Hop on this auspicious day,

by paying tribute to the comfort drink of choice for both young and old--HOT COCOA!

On a piece of Grout Gray card stock, I stamped the Sweater Stitch Background
in Grout Gray ink, and die cut the rectangle element from Blueprints 24.

The mug was die cut from Green Eyed Monster, the heart and cocoa from scraps,
and the whipped cream from Whip Cream card stock--how appropriate!

I added some dimension to the mug by ink distressing with the same ink color
and distressed the edges of the heart with white pigment ink. I used a Copic
marker (#E000) to emphasize the yumminess of the whipped cream. 
The sentiment was white embossed on a strip of Gravel Gray card stock
and adhered to the bottom of the panel.

Virginia's View #21--All About Glitter

If you're a follower of Virginia Lu's blog, and play along with Virginia's View
Challenges, you know that she's taking a little break at the end of the year.
A much deserved break.

I love Virginia, and I'm proud to say that I've known her for years, and I knew
that I was definitely going to join her December challenge--All About Glitter.

Since I'm not allowed to play with actual glitter (long story) I decided to use

some glittered card stock that I had on hand.

After die cutting one of MFT's stitched stars, I made it dimensional with
scoring and folding. Here are the steps.

1. Draw lines from the tip of each point to the "corner". Use a stylus to score the lines.
2. Mountain fold the points, valley fold in between.
3. Crease each fold well.

I gold embossed the sentiment on a piece of Grout Gray cardstock, then stamped
Balloon Strings Background over it with Versamark ink. I die cut the panel

with the rectangle element from Blueprints 24 and adhered it to a 

Grout Gray card base. 

I adhered the star to the panel by rolling up glue dots and placing them under

each star point and at the corners, then pressing down firmly. At the last minute, 

I decided to adhere the mini star sequins. Aren't they cute?
