Poppy

Hello there! Today I'd like to introduce you to Poppy, one of the new images from Stacey Yacula's The Sweetest Day release.

I ink distressed some white cardstock with Victorian Velvet, Shabby Shutters, and Peeled Paint distress inks. I spritzed some water from a spray bottle and let it dry. Poppy and her banner were colored with Copics, trimmed and attached, and the sentiment was stamped. A happy day, indeed!

Poppy and her friends are now on sale at the Purple Onion Designs store. And visit Stacey's blog for an look at some projects she created with her stamps. I especially love her handstamped wrapping paper and tag. Too cute!

I'm hoping this is just the beginning of a sweet collaboration between Stacey and Purple Onion Designs, and that we'll see more of Stacey's designs in the near future.

oh happy day!

Today is the day! Stacey Yacula's The Sweetest Day! stamps are now being sold here in the Purple Onion Designs store! To celebrate, I'm sharing a card with the toadstool and Tucker the snail.

I wanted to give my Copics a break and try some watercoloring, so I grabbed a bunch of Memento Dew Drop pads and used an acrylic block as my palette. I used my waterpens and with a few swishes, the images were colored.

I stamped the sentiment using a Stamp-a-Ma-Jig for perfect placement. The stamped piece was trimmed and mounted on a larger card base, and tied with some sheer brown ribbon. Doesn't Tucker look happy on that toadstool?

Here's another simple card that I created with Rosie. The background was ink distressed with distress inks and I splattered some water for a bit of interest.

Rosie was colored with Copics, then trimmed and mounted on the background. I stamped the sentiment and used dimensional adhesive to attach it to the card. Isn't she sweet?

Peep!

Hello, friends! Judging by the comments and traffic on Michele's blog, there are so many of you who have become fans of Stacey Yacula's adorable designs. Make sure that you visit Stacey's blog to see all of her amazing art--from dolls, to sculpture, and her wonderful drawings, too. She's such a gifted artist.

Today I'm sharing a preview of Peep, a most adorable little bird. Peep will be sold separately, or as part of a set along with the leafy branch and a thank you banner.

For my mini card, I colored all the images with Copics and ink distressed the edges. I rounded off one corner and stamped the sentiment. Some pearls and sheer ribbon finished off the card.

A Rosie giveaway

Hello, hello! I hope yesterday's peeks brought you back to see the latest designs by Stacey Yacula. Her new release, The Sweetest Day, will go on sale Tuesday, April 17th in the Purple Onion Designs store.

Today I'm sharing Rosie, an adorable lop eared bunny. The Polaroid background was made by spraying two shades of Glimmer Mist and sketching in some grass with Copics. Rosie was also colored with Copics, then trimmed and mounted on the card.

Two cute critters who missed being in the shot are Tucker the snail and Flutter the butterfly. Keep an eye out for them in the next few days when they'll make their formal debut. The sentiment is part of a set in the perfect font to match Stacey's stamps.
