Welcome to Lily Pad Cards' First Birthday blog hop!

I hope you arrived here by way of Carol's blog. There are over 50 participating blogs with lots of inspiration and fabulous prizes, and you have a week to visit and leave your comments.

There are three prize packages with a total retail value of over $300! These prizes will be awarded by random draw. There are two ways to be eligible for the prize drawings:
  1.  "Like" us on Facebook.
  2.  If you do not have a Facebook account, simply leave a comment on the Lily Pad Cards blog hop. To better your chances even more, leave comments on participating blogs in the hop. For each comment you leave, you'll be entered again. One comment per blog, please.
Here's my birthday card for today's hop.

I used Hero Arts' new Lattice Background stamp and ink distressed it with Gathered Twigs distress ink. I used Spellbinders Large Circle and Scallop Circle dies and made a simple circle card. Some felt roses and leaves were added, and the sentiment is from an older Hero Arts stamp set.

Your next stop is Janet's wonderful blog. If you hit a bad link, you can always go back to Lily Pad Cards to view the master list of blogs. Please report any bad links to aris@inklinkz.com.

Thanks so much for hopping by! You have until 11:59pm EST on Sunday, April 8th to leave your comments and be eligible for the prizes. Happy Hopping!

Scented Message

It doesn't happen often, but I love it when a card comes together just as I imagined it, right down to the embellishments. After I bought Scented Message, a new stamp from Penny Black, I knew that I wanted to pair it with Tim Holtz' vintage cabinet die.

I've seen Hero Arts' Shari Carroll use it several times and I just loved the unique shape for a card. Move over, Reverse Wonky Rectangle.

After coloring the image with Copics, I cut out some of the flowers and mounted them on dimensional adhesive. I love how they pop off the card. And I had the perfect shade of ribbon scrap that was dyed with distress inks.

I'm planning to enter this card in Lily Pad's latest challenge with flowers. Go here to see all the details.

I hope you all have a great week. Thanks for visiting today!

Lily Pad's Frames, Dies & Dimension challenge

Have you entered any Lily Pad challenges? I missed the deadline for the color challenge and I wanted to enter the current one, sponsored by Globecraft Memories. I don't own any of those cool frames, so I created a simplified tent card instead.

I used "Chickies!2" by Mo's Digital Pencil and colored it with Copics. I followed a great tutorial on making a tent card here. The patterned paper is from Papertrey Ink and I added some punched hydrangea and Liquid Pearls for accent. The sentiment is by Hero Arts.

Hope you're all having a great week so far! Thanks, always, for stopping by...

Stamps: Mo's Digital Pencil Too, Hero Arts
Ink: Ranger distress inks
Cardstock: Papertrey Ink
Patterned paper: Papertrey Ink

Welcome, Lily Pad!

Hello, friends! I hope you hopped here from Vicky's fabulous blog, because I am the second stop in the inaugural Lily Pad Blog Hop! Starting today, seven blogs will be featured daily and will culminate on Friday, April 1st with the Grand Opening of Lily Pad Cards.

Lily Pad Cards is a brand new challenge blog featuring challenges, interviews, articles, videos and great prizes from some awesome sponsors. And although it doesn't officially launch until April 1, 2011, you'll see a sneak peek every day until then.

Please stop by the different blogs and be sure to comment each day, because there are three prize packages with a total retail value of $800, including a $100 gift certificate to a very popular online store! Go here for specific prize details and contest rules.

The hop's theme is "Welcome" because we're welcoming Lily Pad Cards, and welcoming all of you to come and join the fun! Here's my card.

I used Poppystamps' Bobby Bird, paired with some Brioche papers from Memory Box. To make the banner, I punched out circles from the same Brioche paper and cut them in half, then stamped HELLO, using Lawn Fawn's Harold's ABCs. (The twine was recycled from a Lawn Fawn stamp order. Thanks, Kelly Marie!)

Thanks so much for stopping by today! Your next stop on the hop is Amy's awesome blog. I can't wait to see what she has in store for us! If you hit a bad link, you can always go to Lily Pad Cards and click on the next link in the hop. Please report any bad links to webmaster@inklinkz.com.

Happy Hopping! See you at the Lily Pad Grand Opening on April 1st!
