Are you ready for a retro sketch at CAS(E) this Sketch?
Here's Sketch #384 which was Sketch #45 back in 2013.
Meet my straightforward take on the sketch, 7 years ago.
And here's my 2020 version featuring a fun pair of mermaid tails.
I gold embossed a mermaid tail twice, then used daubers to color them in.
Before adhering them to a card base, I dry embossed the background with
an old stencil that resembled splashes of water. I adhered the tails per
the sketch, stamped the sentiment, and added some clear drops.
Visit CAS(E) this Sketch to see how the rest of the team interpreted the
sketch, and join us if you can. Link up your card(s) by Thursday, August 13th
and as the weekly winner, you'll be invited to join us on a future sketch!

I love both of you takes on this sketch!! The second one with the embossing and mermaid tails is so clever!!!
ReplyDeleteDelightful cards, Donna. Especially like how you CASed the first card. tfs-stay well.
ReplyDeleteI love this cute card with the mermaid tails.
ReplyDeleteBoth cards are so pretty, but the 2020 version is so interesting, Donna! Using the mermaid tails for the sketch is such a unique and clever idea! Sponging is so beautifully done, and the "splash" dry-embossing and the clear drops create a wonderful ocean effect.
