MFT October Release Countdown Day 4

It's four days till the My Favorite Things October Release and today I'm sharing
a little Birdie Brown and a "hot" new Die-namics set.

At every release, Birdie Brown introduces the cutest critters, and this month
it's Santa's Elves, a clear stamp set with matching Die-namics sold separately.

The elf and tree were stamped, colored with Copics and die cut with the matching
Die-namics. I masked off a rectangle on white card stock and ink distressed with
several colors of dye inks. The elf and tree were popped up on the card
and the sentiment was added in the corner.

Next up is the new Die-namics Fireplace, and I have to admit I was a little
intimidated because not many homes in Hawaii have a fireplace nor a chimney.
(Because Santa arrives via surfboard.)

Thanks to Google, I manged to find some images and constructed a fireplace
that I'm pretty happy with, but I'm not too sure about that grill.

The card base is a new Prestige card stock color called Green Eyed Monster.
How fun is that name? I inked the edges of the card base in the same color ink
with the English Brick Wall stencil, and cut a smaller panel with Blueprints 24.

The fireplace set was die cut from watercolor card stock. I stenciled
the brick pattern on the face of the mantel and everything else was colored
with Copics. The new Hand Lettered Holiday sentiment was embossed in gold
and the panel was adhered to the card base.

A helpful hint when coloring small die cuts is to leave the pieces intact,
color them, then pop them out. It's so much easier and you won't have
to deal with colored fingertips.

Don't forget to stop by the MFT blog for links to other designers participating
in today's countdown, and leave your comment there for a chance to win
a $75 gift card to the MFT Boutique.
