The latest Online Card Class is Pattern Play. Jennifer McGuire, Kristina Werner
and friends are sharing tips and techniques for getting the most
out of patterned paper for card making.
I am a closet paperholic. Here is proof.
I counted the number of paper pads that I currently own.
134. And that was a rough count.
And there are a few straggler pads that missed the count.
Here is my card after Day 1's lesson. You may laugh.
I struggled to find the perfect papers to work with.
I think it's because I have too much paper.
Hopefully Days 2 through 8 will get easier.
You can still sign up for classes here and have lifetime access
to the lessons and materials.
Thanks so much for stopping by! Hope to see you in class!

ReplyDeleteThanks for making me smile!!!
I'll show this picture to my DH who thinks I have too many...
Your card is WONDERFUL! Def. worth the effort!!!
your card is fabulous!!! ♥
ReplyDelete134! That's AWESOME. You are amazing.
ReplyDeleteAnd I love your card, especially the little strip of hearts along the bottom.
Cute way to use up lots of paper bits.
xxxx
I am taking the class too! I love your take on the sketch - not surprising really because I am a big fan of your cards and was already a follower! :)Traci
ReplyDeleteI'm laughing, but not at your card, Donna - that photo of your paper pads makes me feel better about the amount I have! :) Love the pretty mix of patterns and soft colors on your card!
ReplyDeleteIn comparison to the 3 pads I own, that's one big stash you have Donna! I do like the patterns and colours you chose, they work really well together.
ReplyDeleteWow Donna, that's one big stack of paper!! Your card is beautiful! Great design and I love your mix of pps! The "hello" is so pretty and I love the way it pulls in the colours from the other papers you've used!
ReplyDeleteSuch a beautiful card!! :)
ReplyDeleteYou have more paper than I do :) And you are taking the class! I should do that too.
ReplyDeleteYou made me feel so much better!! I keep collecting 6x6 pads (which, by the way, does not keep me from collecting 12x12 or 8x8) and not using them regularly! Happy to not be alone... :-)
ReplyDeleteLove the card, by the way-- fantastic adaptation! Looking forward to seeing more of yours!
You made me smile Donna! That's a lot of paper! But you put them to good use, all the pattern paper you chose look fabulous together on the card!
ReplyDeleteI always love your designs! Their simple, yet elegant! You are my go-to LO designer! Thanks for all the inspiration!
ReplyDeleteI think your card is fabulous. By adding the yellow and red strips on the bottom, you really picked up the pattern paper flowers and added such a wonderful visual boundary. Great design elements along with your fun pattern paper choices!
ReplyDeleteGosh you do have lots of paper Donna, I am sure you will use lots after taking this card class. I love your card today so pretty!
ReplyDeletewhat a stack o' fun! cute card!
ReplyDeleteGorgeous card Donna, and thanks for easing my guilt at my lowly 30 pads of PP! Jo x
ReplyDeleteI probably have that many too!!!! But I Just Can't Stop! Love them all :) I really like your card. Even with all the pattern, it still manages to look CAS. Nice job :)
ReplyDeleteWow Donna!!! This card looks amazing and your collection of PP looks great too...lol
ReplyDeleteI don't think I could ever laugh at a card you made unless it was SUPPOSED to be funny! This card is wonderful...and I admire your lovely paper collection...what a collection it is!
ReplyDeletewow! i thought i was bad, but you, my friend is a bad girl when it comes to patterned paper!! =) gorgeous take on day 1, will post mine soon! beautiful card, Donna!
ReplyDeleteWow that is a lot of paper! I wonder how high it is if you stack it all in one stack! I love your card, great mix of papers, can't wait to see what else you make!
ReplyDeleteWow! What an amazing collection! I thought I have too many haha! I'm in the class too because I can't use all my papers! I totally love your combo of papers, great card!!
ReplyDeleteDonna why would you think we'd laugh! This card is superb. I love what you have created. Don't worry about the paper "hoarding" I have similar problems with 12 x 12" pieces I have one Christmas piece from 5 years ago!
ReplyDeleteWow! That is a lot of paper. You made me feel better. I thought I was collecting (hoarding!) paper pads. lol! I love beautiful papers:)
ReplyDeleteYour card is awesome. I love it1
Awesome card, Donna!
ReplyDeleteI admit, I have TONS of paper pads too!
OK, you've totally beat me on pattern paper packs! Love that you shared that picture! And I TOTALLY agree that when I'm overwhelmed with choices it takes me sooo much longer to create. Give me a ton of parameters and I'm good. I really love what you ended up with though!
ReplyDeleteCan you hear me laughing? I so totally get where you're coming from (though I can't keep up with 134). Love this card. I love Amber's idea to die cut letters from the bold pattern.
ReplyDeleteWell, you've taken the first step and admitted you have a problem! What I find ironic is that you rarely used patterned paper on the cards you make!! I think I may have twenty 6x6 pads and I donated all my 12x12 pads to the elementary school last year! Oh, I do have 10 drawers full of 12x12 paper .. how does this happen?? But I love your card Donna! you can do anything!!
ReplyDeleteHolly Molly that's a lot of Paper....
ReplyDeleteI hate to Admit my stack is rather large too and I have not been using it!!
Sadly the two pads you gave me have gotten lots of use with Class and I hope to get better at using PP! :)
LOVE your card too....xoxoxo
wow! that's a lot of paper. I've started a collection of 6x6's - my new addiction. I might have around 10.
