Curtain Call Challenge--Birdhouse

I'm playing in the latest Curtain Call Challenge--Birdhouse. Love the inspiration pic!

And it's a good excuse to use Poppystamps' Brevilla Houses. I love this die!
I was tempted to cut the houses apart and scatter them, but decided to leave it as is.

I colored the tops of the houses with Distress inks--sometimes two colors--
and blended them with water towards the bottom. After the piece was dry
I spattered on white ink to tone down the colors a bit.

I popped up the houses on light gray card stock and added a scrap of
striped gray paper to mimic the wallpaper in the photo. The card was
finished off with the Paper Smooches sentiment.

CAS(E) this Sketch 173

N@ Ali brings us this week's sketch for CAS(E) this Sketch.

Here's Sketch #173.

And here's my take on it.

Two cacti were gold embossed and colored with Zig markers and
a waterbrush, then cut with the coordinating dies. Watercolor card stock
was inked with Distress inks and cut with the rectangle element from
Blueprints 24. The panel was adhered to a top folding kraft card.

The sentiment was white embossed on a strip of brown card stock
and trimmed into a banner. The two cacti were adhered to the panel
per the sketch, and the sentiment was adhered over them.

And it's rare that I do this, but I stamped the INSIDE of my card ála former
MFT teammate Amy, who always finishes off the inside of her card this way.
Now I have a card ready to give my hubby when I get prickly...

Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge--FUN WITH FELT

Are you ready for a new Wednesday Challenge at Simon Says Stamp?

This week, the theme is FUN WITH FELT and Simon Says Stamp products

are being showcased. You don't have to use Simon's products to join the challenge,

but feel free to if you have them.

For my project, I used Simon Says Stamp's Swirl Flowers and Leaves.
The dies cut felt like butter!

I rolled up three of the small flowers and added small pearls to the center.

A watercolor panel was inked with two Distress inks and spritzed with water

then adhered to a light gray card base. I adhered a strip of striped paper on the 

bottom, added the flowers and leaves, then finished off with the sentiment.
