CAS(E) this Sketch #243 is a super simple one from me.

And here's what I came up with, thanks to an already colored witch sitting
in my stash of die cuts.

I tried monochromatic coloring with Copics on Birdie Brown's witch. She was
adhered to striped paper with an orange strip for a pop of color. I stamped
the sentiment and finished off the card with enamel dots.

MFT Wednesday Sketch Challenge #354

Have you met this week's Wed Sketch Challenge? Here's Sketch #354.

And here's how I interpreted the sketch.

After preparing a top folded card, I cut a piece of patterned paper and ink distressed
around the edges before adhering it to the card base. A small rounded rectangle was
cut from watercolor card stock and ink distressed, then spattered with water.

Some leaves were white embossed, ink distressed, then cut with the matching
Die-namics. The fox was stamped, colored with Copics and (gasp!) I fussy cut
him before adhering him over the leaves. The card was finished off with a
white embossed sentiment on a speech bubble.

Essentials by Ellen October 2017 Release

The new Essentials by Ellen October 2017 Release went live two days ago and

it's chock full of fun and cuteness from Julie Ebersole and Brandi Kincaid.

I got to play with the Snailed It set, but unfortunately ran out of time (I'm 

currently away on a trip!) to share more than one project with you.

But it's a cute one!

I love the whimsical look of the images and stamping them in unexpected colors

made them look like they came out of a storybook.

Using the Misti, I stamped the images twice with sometimes two colors, then

added the grass with flicks from a Copic YG03 marker. I trimmed out the

panel and adhered it to a kraft card base, then finished off with the super 

cute and punny sentiment.

Stamping solid images with several colors gives the appearance of "no line"

coloring, doesn't it? Stress free no line coloring!

MFT October Release Replay Challenge

It's time for MFT's October Release Replay Challenge, when the Creative Team
shares more inspiration and fresh ideas with the recent release.

I chose to play with the Drifts & Hills Stencil and created an ocean
 waves background for a sweet narwhal.

Using two Distress inks, I stenciled four sides of the stencil over a watercolor 
card stock panel, then spattered water over it and adhered it to a Stone Gray
card base. The narwhal was stamped, colored with Copics, cut with the  
matching Die-namics, then adhered over the stenciled piece.

The sentiment was white embossed on Blueberry card stock, then cut with
a sentiment strip and popped over the narwhal. Schools of fish were stamped
on the water, and the card was finished off with Nuvo Morning Dew Drops.

CAS(E) this Sketch #242

Leigh brings us this week's CAS(E) this Sketch #242.

And here's my take on it. Big surprise--I didn't use a butterfly!

A Mondo Peony was white embossed and colored with Distress inks, then
fussy trimmed. A strip of striped patterned paper was adhered to the card, and
the flower was popped up over it. A sentiment and sequins finished off the card.

Here's this week's MFT Wednesday Sketch Challenge #353.

I pretty much stuck to the sketch with a Pure Innocence cutie.

The stitched rounded rectangle from Blueprints 31 was cut from In the Buff
card stock and lightly ink distressed around the edges, then adhered to a Primitive
Cream card base. Watercolor woodgrain card stock was cut with a circle die, then
ink distressed with Distress inks and trimmed per the sketch, then adhered
to the card.

The Pure Innocence girl was stamped, colored with Copics, and cut with the
matching Die-namics, then adhered to the woodgrain circle with dimensional
adhesive. The sentiment was white embossed on a fishtail sentiment strip, then
trimmed and popped up on the card. Enamel dots finished the card.

MFT October New Product Launch and Release

It's time! You may now purchase MFT's October Release here in the MFT Store!

Be sure to comment on all participating design team members' blogs for a chance
to win one of two $100 MFT gift vouchers. Before you go, I'd like to share one more
project with you, and possibly add to your shopping list.

These Lip Balm tags were so much fun to assemble, and you could crank out a bunch
of them for party favors or last minute stocking stuffers.

For each tag, I cut out two pieces of the same shape and die cut the lip balm window
from the top tag. You can cut these out of patterned or solid papers, but I chose to
ink distress in gradient shades, leaving the bottom white to be able to see the stamped
sentiment. And I kept it simple by not adding the frame around the opening.

I used strong tape adhesive to assemble each tag, adding the lip balm in the pouch before
sealing the two tags together. I finished off each tag with a bit of twine and a snowflake.

Aren't they fun? And they're a unisex project, because the guys in our life
need lip protection, too! 😉

MFT October Release Countdown--Day 1

It's the final day of My Favorite Things Oct Release Countdown!
All new products will go on sale tomorrow, October 3rd at 9PM EST in the MFT Store.

I love all of the huge word Die-namics that MFT has come out with and today I'm sharing
a card made with the new Huge LOVE Die-namics.

Two watercolor panels were ink distressed with Distress Oxide inks and spattered
with water. LOVE was die cut three times from the top panel and adhered to the
second panel with lighter colors. The panel was adhered to a Stone Gray card base.

The sentiment was white embossed on Cement Gray card stock and cut with a
sentiment strip, then adhered to the card. A Bitty Bear was popped up over the
sentiment, and the card was finished off with Sparkling Clear sequins.

MFT October Release Countdown--Day 2

It's two days until My Favorite Things October Release! All new products will
go on sale Tuesday, October 3rd at 9PM EST in the MFT Store!

Today I'm sharing two projects, the first using the gorgeous Handwritten Holiday
sentiment set.

The font on this sentiment set is just gorgeous, and you really don't need anything
 else to let the sentiments shine. I ink distressed a watercolor panel with several
colors of Distress inks then went over with the Drifts & Hills Stencil to give the
background some dimension.

I spattered water over the surface, then cut out the panel with the Mod Rectangle 
STAX when it was dried. The sentiment was silver embossed, together with a few
snowflakes. The panel was then adhered to a Stone Gray card base.

My second card features Nice List from Pure Innocence.

The largest Mod Rectangle STAX was covered with patterned paper and hinged
with another piece to form the card base. A smaller Mod Rectangle piece was
adhered to the card, then topped with a Merry Christmas Circle.

The Pure Innocence list maker was stamped and colored with Copics, except
for her dress which was paper pieced. She was grounded with an oval shadow 
and I added two bears from my stash. A sentiment was stamped inside.

Essentials by Ellen Hop for Hope

I'm sure you all know someone who has had breast cancer or is currently living
and dealing with the disease, whether it be a relative, friend, or neighbor. Personally, 
my Mom was a breast cancer survivor so I'm well aware of monthly self-checks, 
early detection, and yearly mammograms. 

I'm thrilled to be a part of this surprise Hop for Hope for Ellen Hutson!

I was proud to purchase this Courage stamp and die set, knowing that half of the
proceeds from the sale of the set would go towards the Breast Cancer Reasearch
Foundation. Here's my card for the hop, using my favorite sentiment in the set.



After die cutting a bunch of awareness ribbons from watercolor card stock, I ink

distressed them (in pink, of course!) and spattered them with water. Thanks to the
incredible Misti I was able to stamp the sentiment both on the ribbon and the card,
then line them up and adhere the ribbon to the card.

The crown was silver embossed and adhered to the ribbon, and the card was finished off
with some clear rhinestones.

With a stash of pink awareness ribbons, I created two more cards using the same
technique and the Misti.
