Here's CAS(E) this Sketch 106 brought to you by Chrissy.

And here's my simplified take on it.

 

I turned the sketch 90 degrees and stamped Winnie & Walter's chevron stamp.

I used distress inks and spritzed the stamp with water before each stamping. 

The sentiment is by Paper Smooches.

I'm also adding this to Virginia's View Challenge 11--Clean Slate

since there's quite a bit of white space on my card. Sorta.

One of the requirements is "one layer", but I made a booboo and had to trim the piece

and mount it on a black card base. I might be disqualified...

Playful Animals Notecards

Welcome back to a new year with CAS(E) this Sketch!

The first sketch of the year is brought to you by our teammie Michelle.

And here's my take on it.

I masked off a small portion of the card and ink distressed in ombré fashion.
I spattered some water on the inked portion and ink on the corners.
The panda and sentiment are by Mama Elephant.

FUSION Card Challenge One Year Anniversary Celebration

Have you heard the news? FUSION Card Challenge is celebrating their One Year Anniversary!

Sweet and talented Kimberly Wiener invited me to be her guest and I was thrilled to accept.

If you're not familiar with FUSION, use either the photo or the sketch, 

or both, to create your card. Here's the challenge graphic:

Feeling super inspired by the photo, I created TWO cards for the challenge.

Here's my first.

I used one stamp set--WPlus9's Twenty Fifteen and created a New Year's card.
The sentiment was white embossed on watercolor paper and I dabbed several colors
of distress inks over it for the resist effect.

The small and medium sized triangle images were stamped in gold ink once,
and gold embossed a second time to resemble banners.
I finished off the card with gold spatters of ink and a few sequins.
 

For my second card, I was inspired by the chalkboard in the background.

I used the same WPlus9 stamp and created a chalkboard flag.

The banners were created with a Reverse Confetti die, cut from

watercolored paper and metallic cardstock.

Thanks for Everything

Oh, my goodness! Between the three week stretch for CAS(E) this Sketch 
and cranking out a few Hero Arts cards for CHA, I've neglected my poor blog!
I want to thank some sweet friends who sent Christmas cards, and I haven't forgotten you
but you'll be getting a New Year's card (or maybe a Valentine!) in return.

I finally signed up at Craftsy, thanks to Laura Bassen, and my newest addiction:
INK SMOOSHING.

How fun and colorful is this?

I used a (retired) hexagon background stamp from Taylored Expressions and a ton of

distress inks because they work best with smooshing. The hybrid sentiment

is from Mama Elephant and Winnie & Walter.

I stamped, masked, and gold embossed the large jewel from Avery Elle onto

watercolor cardstock and colored them with Distress inks.

The cool sentiment is from WPlus9 and I added some bling with gold sequins.
