Modern Leaves Winner!

I've decided not to drag out the giveaway for the Modern Leaves stamp set

since the very first commenter--Trinh--gave the correct answer

and therefore, is the winner of the stamp set. Congrats, Trinh!

and I was drawn to the fresh colors and design.

Of course, I took a much simpler approach but I still felt that it was a CASE'd design.

Avery Elle's Modern Leaves + Giveaway

Today I'm sharing a card using Avery Elle's Modern Leaves, a unique set

designed by my uber talented teammate, JJ.

It was totally CASE'd from a card that I saw in a recent publication

and here's where the giveaway comes in.

The first person to tell me two things: Whose card I CASE'd and where the card

is featured will win a Modern Leaves Photopolymer Clear stamp set.

I stamped the flat side of the leaf stamp together with

the smallest leaf stamp in various colors of Hero Arts' shadow inks.

The sentiment is a complimentary stamp that Jamie graciously adds 

to your Avery Elle order.

CASology--Fireworks

This week's cue word at CASology is FIREWORKS.

I challenged myself since I don't own any firework stamps,

and here's what I came up with.

The larger burst is a chrysanthemum and the smaller is a flower image,

both from Hero Arts. The sentiment is also Hero Arts.

Does it kinda sorta look like fireworks? I hope so!

CAS(E) this Sketch! 35

 CAS(E) this Sketch 35 by Chrissy Larson is a fun one!

And here's my take on it.

I went totally literal--again!--and a little inky in the process.

I used the brush stroke stamp from Hero Arts and the Maya Angelou sentiment

is from Fresh Squeezed Stamps.

And see those splats? They were made with a Hero Arts ink dauber! 

I accidentally dropped the dauber and noticed the "splat" that was formed.
I tested different heights and got these results:

The higher you hold the dauber and "stamp" your surface, the bigger the splat.

I have more plans for those splats but first I need more ink dauber colors!

Avery Elle July Inspiration Blog Hop

First, here's my card featuring Papel Picado Banners.
Papel picado is a Mexican folk art of intricately cut paper which are
most often used as banners for a celebration.

I stamped each of the banner flags in coordinating Memento ink on
Avery Elle's heavy cardstock and cut them out with the Elle-ments banner dies.
The set comes with different sentiments but I went traditional. Olé!
