For my summertime card, I white embossed two bicycle images and ink distressed
with Peacock Feathers and Mowed Lawn and added a bit of water spritzing.
The sentiment was white embossed and ink distressed with Orange Marmalade.
For a pop of color, I added some punched flowers on the bike's basket.
Besides a project, we're sharing favorite summer recipes, and here's mine.
It's one that I've had for a while but only recently started making,
and it's a huge hit with my family. It's so refreshing and perfect for summer.
I hope you'll try it!
HAZELNUT ICED COFFEE
(Halved recipe courtesy of The Pioneer Woman,
adapted from Imbibe magazine)
8 ozs. ground Hazelnut coffee
One gallon of cold water
- In a large container, pour in the coffee and add water. Mix well and cover. Let steep for 8 hours or more.
- After 8 hours, pour the mixture through a fine sieve lined with a coffee filter, paper towels, or several layers of cheesecloth. Refrigerate until well chilled.
- When ready to serve, fill a glass with ice cubes. Fill about 1/2 the glass with the coffee concentrate. Fill the rest of the glass with milk (soy, 2%,1%, whole, or half and half) and add a tablespoon of simple syrup or sugar. Stir well and taste, adjusting to desired sweetness.
- Insert (optional) straw and enjoy!
Coffee concentrate will yield 12 to 15 glasses of iced coffee and will keep for about two weeks, covered, in refrigerator. In our house, it lasts about four days.

In addition to the Hero Arts giveaway, I'm having one here on my blog.

Frame Cuts snowflake dies to a random commenter on this post.
Last year I shared some cards on my blog using this set. It's perfect for making
shaped cards and getting a head start on your holiday card making.
The deadline for comments for my giveaway is Friday, July 26 at midnight HST.
I will announce the winner on Saturday, July 27 and I will ship internationally, too!
I'm the last stop in today's lineup. Day 3 continues tomorrow on the Hero Arts blog.
