Tag You're It Challenge #83--Polka Dots

Welcome to this week's Tag You're It Challenge #83.
This week's theme is a fun one--POLKA DOTS!  I LOVE polka dots--they're add a fun
and playful touch--and I think most folks do, too. Here's the inspiration photo.

And here's my tag for the challenge.

Black and white dotted paper was adhered to a tag shape, topped off with the
puddle jumper, sun, and sentiment. Black and white twine completed the tag.

CAS(E) this Sketch #313

CAS(E) this Sketch #313 is a retro one from our leader, Chrissy/

Here's what I came up with in 2016.

And here's my simplified 2019 take.

I cut a piece of alcohol ink background diagonally and adhered it to a

card base. A little snowboarding dude was adhered to the slope and the

sentiment was cut apart, then stamped on the card.

In hindsight, I should have added the colorful panel to the top portion
of the card and let the negative space be the "snow". Instead he looks like
a little surfer on some gnarly waves.

MFT Wed Sketch Challenge #428

Are  you ready for this week's MFT Wednesday Sketch Challenge?

Here's Sketch #428.

Here's my take on it.

A Super Dog was stamped, colored with Copics and cut with the matching

Die-namics. The explosive sounds were white embossed and cut with the

matching Die-namics. 

Three rounded squares were die cut and adhered to a Grout Gray card base.

I popped up all of the pieces and white embossed a sentiment on a strip

of red card stock then adhered it to the card following the sketch.

MFT March Release and MFT & Friends

It's time to shop for your favorites from MFT's March Release!

Today I'm sharing a project combining three new products from the Release--
Painted Petals Stamp and Die-namics, A2 Rectangle Frames, and  
Anything-but-Basic-Encouragement Stamp set.

I wanted a waterolor look for the blooms and spritzed water over the stamp after
inking it with Distress inks. I used the center portion of the bloom as leaves
and inked, spritzed, and stamped them in the same way.

 The sentiment was stamped on the card and the images popped up over it.
I added the frame and finished off the card with sequins.

MFT March Release Countdown Day 1

It's the final day of My Favorite Things March Release Countdown! Have you got
your shopping lists ready or still adding to your growing wish list?

Today I've created a shadow box card following a You Tube tutorial by teammate
Stephanie, that was shared by teammate Torico. A shadow box card is so much fun to
make and to receive, and you can make them as simple or elaborate as you like.

I used the new Mini Staggered Raindrops Stencil for the back of the shadow box.
The images and sentiment are from BB Rain or Shine (which is back in stock!).
They were stamped, colored with Copics, cut with the matching Die-namics then
adhered inside the shadow box before it was assembled.

What I love most about this particular shadow box is that when it's folded flat,
it fits perfectly inside of an A2 sized envelope. Gotta love that, right?

MFT March Release Countdown Day 2

It's two more days until MFT's March Release! Are you ready to meet
this month's cute critter? It's Cottontail Cutie, who hopped here just in time
for Easter or any bunnylicious occasion. I went with Easter.

After die cutting the bunny, I ink distressed the pieces lightly then assembled
it and added highlights on the nose and eyes. A piece of patterned paper was
adhered to a kraft card base and the bunny was popped up over it.

I smooshed some Distress inks on a craft mat, then diecut eggs and adhered
them around the bunny. The card was finished off with the stamped sentiment.

Another new Die-namics in the March Release is Rainy Circle. Similar to the
Starry Circle Die-namics, this die adds interest to your rainy day projects.

I die cut the circle from Blue Breeze card stock and ink distressed it in ombré
fashion. A panel was cut with a stitched rectangle and the circle was cut in the
center then adhered to a white card base.

 I popped out random raindrops before piecing it into the opening on the card.
The little puddle jumper was stamped, colored and cut with the matching 
Die-namics then adhered over the circle and I added the banner sentiment.
As a final touch, I added some clear glaze to the raindrop openings.

MFT March Release Countdown Day 3

We're halfway to My Favorite Things March Release!
All new products will go on sale Tuesday, March 12th at 10am EST.

This month Stacey Yacula brings us Easter Bunnies, a set of the cutest little bunnies
 preparing for Easter festivities.

The bunnies and egg tree were stamped in gray hybrid ink and colored with Copic
markers, then cut with the matching Die-namics. A dome piece was ink distressed
with Distress Oxide inks, then spattered with water.

The dome shaped piece was adhered to a Primitive Cream card base and the
 images were adhered to the card. The stamped sentiment finished off the card.

How adorable are those bunnies?

MFT March Release Countdown Day 4

It's Day 4 of My Favorite Things March Release Countdown!

This month Birdie Brown introduces Best in Show which appears to be
a nod to the Westminster Kennel Club Dog Shows. I remember watching it
on television and my family would always root for their favorite breed.

For my card I totally fell in love with the smallest pup--I'm not sure of the breed--
and made a friendship card with him.

I stamped him repeatedly in Grout Gray ink on kraft card stock for a tone on
tone background. Next, I stamped him in brown hybrid ink, and colored him
with Copics then cut him with the matching dies.

I popped him up on the corner of the card and stamped the sentiment beneath
him. A rounded off corner finished off the card.

MFT March Release Countdown Day 5

Welcome to My Favorite Things March Release Countdown!
                                                             

 Let's "swing" into Day 5 with the newest Pure Innocence image, Start Each Day
With a Whee. There's a new Interactive Swing Die-namics also being released
this month, but I decided to go simple for my projects.

I stamped the little swinger on a panel and colored her with Copic markers.
Clouds were stenciled in and the panel was adhered to a white card base. The
tree canopy was cut and ink distressed and spattered with green ink.
White highlights were added with a white pigment and the canopy was
adhered to the card. I cut apart the sentiment and stamped it on the card.

And here's a second card with a tree swing--Sweet Friends.

The little girl and bunny were stamped, colored with Copics, and cut with
the matching Die-namics. I used the stitched cloud edges for the tree's canopy
and ink distressed it and spattered water over it. A panel was ink distressed
and I drew in some grass with a Copic marker. All of the pieces were adhered to
the card and finished off with the stamped sentiment.
