Color Throwdown Challenge 428

I'm guesting this month over at the Color Throwdown Challenge!
I'm super excited--and a tad nervous--as I consider myself more of a "sketch gal".
But I'm giving this month's challenges my best shot and I hope you'll play along.

This week's color palette is RED, PINK, CHOCOLATE BROWN, and WHITE.

The colors spoke "Valentine", and I was totally inspired by the yummy cups
of hot chocolate in the photo. Here's my card.

Stop by the Color Throwdown blog for all the details and join the challenge!
And for more inspiration, be sure to visit the design team to see their projects.

Thanks for stopping by, and we hope to see you in the gallery!

MFT January Creative Construction with Blueprints--Tags to Fall in Love With

Tags provide the perfect little canvas for expressing your love in miniature form.
Use them as delightful little cards, package accents, or decor. This month, our team
was challenged to inspire you with our extensive collection of Blueprints.

I chose to work with Tag Builder Blueprints 5, which I'm happy to report is
back in stock in the MFT Store.

I created a trio of "Cupig" tags by adding a golden arrow to the adorable flying pig.
The tags were covered with patterned paper, and the Cupigs were adhered with
dimensional adhesive. Small banners were cut with card stock in matching colors
and the sentiments were white embossed on them.

Did you know that all of MFT's patterned papers match their line of card stock?
You can find a color reference guide here on the MFT blog. It's where I found out
Berrylicious, Lavender Fields, and Ripe Raspberry card stock matched the
Hearts and Stripes papers perfectly.

Visit today's post at My Favorite Things to see how participating team members
took on this month's Blueprints challenge.

No Place Like Home

Did you grab My Favorite Things latest card kit--No Place Like Home?
I'm sharing another card that came together quickly with minimal "home construction".

I die cut the house shapes from watercolor card stock and quickly went over them
with Zig markers and a water brush. After they dried, I spattered on black Distress
Paint and popped them up on a 4 x 6" card base to accommodate four houses.

I added a strip of patterned paper on the bottom and finished off with the sentiment
and a small black heart.

Save more than 20% by purchasing the kit during the release versus buying the items
separately. You can find the No Place Like Home Card Kit here in the MFT Store.
And remember to use #mftstamps whenever you share your projects on social media!

CAS(E) this Sketch #206

Our teammie Leigh brings us this week's CAS(E) this Sketch.
Meet Sketch #206.

Here's my take on it.

"Bear" with me as I thought I had the perfect image for the sketch. Until I
realized that ice skaters do not go zipping down a slope. Oops! But I finished
up the card, and found the perfect sentiment for a one of a kind skater.

Visit CAS(E) this Sketch to see how the rest of my teammates interpreted
the sketch and join us if you can. Link up your card(s) by Thursday,
February 2nd, and as a winner, you could be our next guest designer!
