MFT December 2019 Hits & Highlights--Putttin' on the Glitz

For this month's Hits and Highlights, we're ringing in the New Year--and a brand
new decade--with glamorous looks that feature lots of shimmer and shine!

The numbers were cut from glitter card stock in rainbow colors, and stars were cut from
silver glitter card stock. I colored the ala mode girl in neutral tones and added some
sparkle to the champagne with a Wink of Stella pen.

The girl and numbers were adhered to a black panel, together with the stars and the
silver embossed sentiment. I adhered the panel to a dark gray card base and finished off
the card with dots from a silver pen.

This is my last project as a member of the MFT Creative Team. It was a fun, 4-year
ride and I was honored to be a part of it. Huge thanks to Kim, Jody, and Stephanie
for the opportunity to create and share with MFT products!

CASology Week #358--BRANCH

I'm joining the last CASology challenge of the year and here's the cue word:

And here's my take on the word.

I've wanted to own the Paper Smooches Dove Die for a long time and waited
for the right time to use it on a project. I die cut the dove three times from
white card stock and was happy that one layer stayed intact.

Two outline layers were adhered together, then onto the "solid" piece.
I colored the olive branch and eye with Copic markers, adhered the dove,
stamped the sentiment and rounded off one corner for a bit of interest.

I'd like to take this time to wish you all a Merry Christmas and a
safe holiday filled with peace, love and joy.

Edited to add: My card was chosen as the weekly winner! Thanks so much, Jacquie

out of your busy schedule to join us and you could be the winner of a

I did minimal coloring on a Bitty Bear and cut him out with the matching
Die-namics. A spatter design was stamped on a card base and topped with the
bear on dimensional adhesive. A stamped sentiment and strip of patterned
paper were added and finished off with some small clear sequins.

Visit the MFT blog for all the details and deadline on this month's birthday
challenge and we hope to see your clean and simple cards in the gallery!

CAS(E) this Sketch #352

Do you spy Altenew's Painted Fantasy washi tape? Guilty! I just couldn't resist.
I adhered a piece to white card stock, then trimmed two strips per the sketch.
I added a skinny strip of pink card stock then finished off with the sentiment.

January 2nd, 2020 and as the winner you'll be invited to guest with us

MFT Wed Sketch Challenge #468

Here's this week's MFT Wed Sketch Challenge #468.

And here's my take on the sketch. I just couldn't resist using some Bitty Bears!

The Christmas text background was stamped on Grout Gray card stock and
topped with four bears, per the sketch. The stamped sentiment and a sprinkling
of enamel dots finished off the card.

a $50 MFT gift voucher when you enter the challenge!

Adventure is Calling--MFT December Vault Release Day 2

It's Day 2 of sharing projects from MFT's December Vault Release!

If you missed it during its original release, you can now add Birdie Brown's
Adventure is Calling to your stamp collection.

I loved Birdie Brown's "big girl" images because they were easy to color (for me!) and
you could always add more details and build up a scene.

I made two cards using the image--one in portrait and the other in landscape view.
On both cards I stamped the skyline over a panel of ink distressed sky. In hindsight
I should have masked the buildings on the second card, before spattering--it looks
like snow during summer......😲

We hope you liked this month's Vault Release and found something new or
something you missed the first time around. Happy shopping!

Serenity Now--MFT December Vault Release

Are  you ready? MFT is opening up the December Vault! All products are available
for purchase now in the MFT Store! Today and tomorrow we'll be sharing new-to-you
goodies, or something that you had your eye on but missed the first time around.
Now's your chance to grab it!

My card features Pure Innocence Serenity--a cute little yoga gal.

I did a bit of altering on her outfit--baring a little midriff for an updated look.
She was fussy cut and wisps of bangs were drawn in.

Two colors of Distress inks were inked on a white card base, then spattered
with gold watercolor ink. I made her a yoga mat from green card stock, and
popped her on top of it. The card was finished off with the stamped sentiment.

Visit today's post at My Favorite Things to see more of the Vault Release and
start filling up your cart!

CAS(E) this Sketch #351

This week's CAS(E) this Sketch is a retro one and I remember it well.

We collaborated with Runway Inspired Challenge and used not only the sketch by
Joni, but a photo of a runway model for inspiration. Go here to see the original post.

Here was my take on the sketch in 2014.

And here's my festive take in 2019.

A stitched curved edge was cut from a white panel and adhered over a card
base covered with red and white gingham. The reindeer and snowman were
stamped, colored with Copic markers then cut with the matching dies. They were
popped up on the card and finished off with the white embossed sentiment.

Visit CAS(E) this Sketch to see how the rest of the team interpreted the sketch
and join us if you can. Link up your card(s) by Thursday, Dec 19th and as the
weekly winner you'll be invited to join us on a future sketch!

MFT Wed Sketch Challenge #467

And here's my super literal take on it.

Four stitched circles were cut from white card stock and inked in rainbow
colors. Pandas were stamped on each color and adhered to a kraft panel.
The panel was adhered to a white card base and two skinny strips of
striped patterned paper were adhered to the card. A stamped sentiment
finished off the card.

Visit the challenge post at MFT for all the details and deadlines on  how you
can be the random winner of a $50 MFT gift voucher when you join us!
We hope to see you in the gallery!

and leave a comment for your chance to win one of two $100 MFT gift vouchers!

Today is also MFT & Friends when the Creative Team--and friends!--share more
ideas and inspiration with the December 2019 Release.

I made a shaped card, using the new A2 Stitched Circle STAX Die-namics for the
base of the card, cut from white and Grout Gray card stock. Green ink was applied
to the white circle and spattered with watered down ink.

The Rose Garden image was stamped and colored with a combination of Copics
and Zig markers, then cut with the matching Die-namics. I popped it up on the
card base and added a few more leaves next to the rose to fill an empty spot.

I stamped the sentiment and cut it apart in segments then adhered it to
the card. Clear sequins finished off the card. And yes, the card can open
thanks to a hinged back piece. It will fit nicely in a 6"x6" envelope, or you
can present it in person, atop a gift.

All right, off you go to shop! Remember to visit and comment on all team members'
blogs by Thursday, December 12th. Winners will be announced on Friday, December
13th on the MFT blog. Happy shopping!

Final Countdown Day! One More Day Until the New Release!

It's the final countdown day of MFT's December Release!

Today my project features a new background stamp--Crosshatch Polka Dot--and it's
a fun one to add to your background stamp collection.

I white embossed the image, then ink distressed and spattered the panel with white paint.
After the paint was dried, it was cut with the wonky stitched die. This month's "free
with $60" die is the smile Die-namics which was cut three times, layered, and
adhered to the panel.

The sentiment was white embossed on heavy vellum, trimmed, then adhered to the panel
with spray adhesive. The panel was then adhered to a white card base.

Visit today's Countdown post at the MFT blog for more peeks and inspiration and leave
a comment there for a chance to win a $75 prize! Thanks for stopping by today, hope
you'll stop by tomorrow for the New Product Launch!

Are You Ready? 2 More Days Until MFT's December Release!

Yes, it's just a couple more days until MFT's December Release!
All new products will go on sale Tuesday, December 10th at 10AM EST.

Today I'm paying homage to Bei Bei, the adorable panda that was recently
returned to China (by private jet!) after being raised in the US.

Panda Pals is an adorable set of pandas, with matching Die-namics sold
separately.  Their favorite food--bamboo--was constructed with the Birch
Trees Die-namics and some leaves from a stitched flowers set.

The grass was drawn in with several Copic markers, then topped with the
bamboo and pandas. I finished off the card with the sentiment that was cut
apart to fit. How sweet are those two pandas?

Visit today's Countdown post for more inspiration from the Creative Team
and don't forget to leave a comment there for a chance to win a $75 prize!
Thanks for stopping by today!
