Inspired By Challenge #302

It's been a while since I've joined an Inspired By challenge and when I saw the
graphic for IB302, I was in.

I LOVE leaves and anything fall, so I searched for Altenew's funky leaves and
put together this card in record time.

Three leaves were cut and colored in autumnal colors and I stamped the
sentiment before running the panel through an embossing folder. I adhered
the leaves to a "clothesline" and called it done.

Off to link this up. Thanks for stopping by!

Hello FALL -- 2023 Fall/Winter Coffee Lovers Blog Hop

Thank goodness for Daylight Savings as I have extra time to enter the
2023 Fall/Winter Coffee Lovers Blog Hop with a few hours to spare.

I went with a fall theme and I mixed and matched products from four companies.

The cups are Mama Elephant's Boba Shaker Dies, cut from different colors of card stock.
I ran the band through a corrugator before adhering it to the cups. The background is
the new Basket Weave Card Front from Concord & 9th.

The leaves are from Papertrey Ink, die cut from white card stock and colored
with dye inks. I attached three leaves and a twine bow to a cup, then adhered
all three to the card. A gold embossed sentiment finished off the card.

Thanks for stopping by--I'm off to link this up!

The Paper Players #568 -- Gnomes or Fairies

I'm entering this card under the wire (again!) with inspiration from Amy and
her cute gnome couple card. I also discovered a new challenge blog--The Paper Players.

I remember having a small stash of gnomes from several years ago when gnomes
made their crafty comeback. I put my card together with supplies from FIVE different
companies! See how well they play together?

A card base was  covered with plaid paper from Photoplay, then topped with a
panel that was debossed with MFT's Snow Swirls Cover Up Die-namics. Two of
Whimsy Stamps Snowy Trees were inked and adhered to the panel and the gnome
was popped up between them. I didn't plan well and stamped the Mama Elephant
sentiment over and thankfully, it's somewhat legible.

Thanks so much for visiting and wishing all those who celebrate a
HAPPY THANKSGIVING!

Edited to add: I missed the deadline. I didn't take into account the time difference
and DLS, too. Insert sad face here...Lesson learned--don't enter challenges so late!

CAS(E) this Sketch #383

CAS(E) this Sketch #383 is brought to you by yours truly.
And it looks like this.

And here's my interpretation, although I think it lost its CAS status.

I was intrigued with teammie Michele's stenciled pool water that she
learned from MFT's Laura Dovalo. I wanted to try it but like Michele, didn't
own the stencil, so I found a discontinued one from MFT called COW PRINT.

I wasn't super happy with the result (does it look more like jellyfish?) but
having three cute chickies poolside really help. I added the Mama
Elephant sentiment and called it done.

Visit CAS(E) this Sketch to see how the rest of the team interpreted
the sketch and join us if you can. Link up your card(s) by Thursday,
August 6th and as the weekly winner you'll be invited to join us on a
future sketch!

Challenge Me a Christmas Card

Blogging friend Michelle Lupton invited me to join her Challenge Me a Christmas
Card and I accepted the challenge. I chose "floral" as the theme for the both of us
and here's what I came up with.

I considered using a poinsettia but opted for a single red rose. Altenew's
Fantasy Floral 3D Dies were cut from watercolor card stock and smooshed with
Distress inks. The leaves were colored with Zig markers and a water brush.

A watercolor panel was trimmed and spattered with black paint, then adhered
to a card base covered with striped patterned paper. The bloom and leaves were
adhered to the panel and finished off with the stamped sentiment.

Big thanks to Michelle for the challenge invitation. Be sure to visit her blog
to see her floral take on the challenge. I haven't seen her card yet, but I know it
will be awesome! Thanks so much for stopping by today.

Snow Many Snowmen

Just popping in to share a card that I made with Mama Elephant's So Many Snowmen.
At first I was planning to stamp the image and color in just one snowman, but I couldn't
decide which one to highlight. So I colored them all.

I masked the snowmen after stamping and heat embossing the image so it doubled
the amount of snowmen on the card. I colored them in with Zig markers and
a waterbrush and Spectrum Noir sparkle pen.
The sentiment was white embossed on a strip of black card stock, cut with
the speech bubble dies and popped up over the snowmen.

Guest Designer for Scrap Rendez Vous

Blogging friend Alexandra invited me to guest design over at Scrap Rendez Vous,
and I accepted the invitation. I was asked to create a sketch and a card based on the sketch.
Since my sketch was super simple, I created three cards. Here's a sneak peek.

Do you spot some Mama Elephant? I used the In My Heart stamp set and
coordinating Creative Cuts. Yay, me, for bustin' out my Copics!

Please visit Scrap Rendez Vous to see the sketch and full reveal of the cards.
I also share a pictorial of how I created the background.
Thank you Alexandra, for having me as a guest.
And thanks for stopping by!

Mama Elephant Guest Designer: Make a Wish

Today I'm sharing my last projects for Mama Elephant using Make a Wish,
my favorite set from the release.

Using Post-it Tape, I masked off a square area on each card, and ink distressed
inside of the square with different colored inks. I used the same sentiment on each card
and gold embossed it and the stars in different patterns for different looks.

I love the collaboration between Pauline Ibarra and Mama Elephant
and I look forward to seeing more awesome sentiment sets from her in the future.

I'm also grateful that I won the guest design spot and got to play with
Mama Elephant's awesome stamps. Thanks for a fun month, Kryssi!

CAS(E) this Sketch 70

Here's this week's sketch brought to you by Sam.

And here's my take on it.

The bunny buddies were stamped and lightly shaded in with Copics.
I colored in a sky and added some grass and flower buds, then stamped
the sentiment from the same Mama Elephant set.
Gotta love a one layer card!

Visit CAS(E) this Sketch to see how the rest of the design team
interpreted the sketch and join us if you can.
Link up your card(s) by Thursday, April 3rd.

Thanks for stoppin' by!

Mama Elephant Stamp Highlight--Everyday Greetings

I absolutely LOVE mixed font sentiments. Love them.
Everyday Greetings from Mama Elephant features Kryssi's handwriting
combined with a "blurred" typewriter font that is so unique. You're gonna love it!

I chose a sentiment from the set and paired it with the penguins from Love Quotes,
colored with Copics. And see that adorable little heart speech bubble? It comes with the set!

Mama Elephant Stamp Highlight--On Point Borders

If you love borders, check out this fun and trendy set from Mama Elephant
called On Point Borders. A selection of five unique borders that can be used
in a variety of ways--from adding texture or color to your work, to building
your own background patterns.

Here is my card. I love working with washi tape which can get bulky at times,
once you start layering them. Not a problem with these border stamps
because you can overlap them and still create a one layer card.

After watercoloring the card and stamping on the gorgeous sentiment,
I stamped the small squares border several times in mid tone and Delicata gold ink.
To finish off the card, I added some gold stars and a spritz of gold ink.

Don't forget to stop by Mama Elephant for more ideas from the design team.

Mama Elephant Stamp Highlight--Make a Wish

Today we're sharing cards and projects using Mama Elephant's Make A Wish
stamp set, designed by Pauline Ibarra.

Here is my card.

It's similar to the card that I shared for the Stampede and bears a striking
resemblance to Laura Bassen's card. Believe it or not, it's just sheer coincidence
that we both watercolored a background, and I like to think that for once,
my brain was on the same wavelength as hers! Ha!

With such a beautiful, bold sentiment, a watercolored background seems like
the simplest thing to do, especially for mass producing.
You could have a bunch of these on hand and never miss a birthday again!
Best part is, anyone can do it.

Visit the Mama Elephant blog for more inspiration from the design team.
And if you head over to Pauline's blog, she's having a giveaway of a Make a Wish set
and all you have to do to enter is answer one simple question.
Full details can be found here. Good luck!

Mama Elephant Stamp Highlight--Just Hatched

This week I'll be sharing cards with Mama Elephant's newest release.
Today we are showcasing Just Hatched, a set of adorable critters and fun sentiments.

I'm on a watercolor kick--can you tell?--and brushed several colors of distress inks
on white card stock, then stamped the chick with Archival ink in a random pattern.

See that little guy in the middle? He's my fave. He's the good egg.

Head on over to the Mama Elephant blog to see more inspiration from the uber talented
design team, and yes, there are matching dies for this set!
All stamps are now available in the Mama Elephant store.

new stamps released! Winners will be chosen at random from the collective blogs

Here's my card for the Stampede. I fell in love with the Make a Wish stamp set.
The big, bold sentiments are so gorgeous! I knew that I wanted it to be embossed in gold
so I first put down some color with watered down distress inks.

After it was completely dry, I gold embossed the sentiment and stars that are included
in the set. I rounded off both corners and finished the card off with some gold lamé thread.

This set was designed by the talented Pauline Ibarra and is exclusive to Mama Elephant.
It's a definite must have set for quick, last minute birthday cards!

So are you ready to Stampede? Your next stop is the wickedly creative LAURA BASSEN
and here's the complete hop list in case you get strayed.
