MFT April Release Countdown--Day 5

This month you'll be thinking Spring at My Favorite Things! The April release
features flowers and cute critters, together with stencils and dies and more.

Day 5 of the Release Countdown features Fly-By Friends Stamp Set and
matching Die-namics by Lisa Johnson Designs.

The flowers and butterflies were stamped with Black Licorice Hybrid ink
and colored with Copics, then die cut with the coordinating dies. Several colors
of dye inks were sponged on watercolor card stock, and spattered with water
and watered down coordinating inks.

The panel was embossed with the Dainty Scallop Cover-Up Die-namics,
and the flowers and butterflies were adhered to it. I folded up the butterflies'
wings for added dimension, and white embossed the sentiment on a strip of
black card stock.

CAS(E) this Sketch 166

Here's this week's fun sketch, brought to you by Chrissy.

Truthfully, I panicked. Then I caught an early peek of teammie Michele's card
and came up with this. I turned the sketch 90 degrees counterclockwise, like she did.

MFT's Umbrella Die-namics just arrived in my mailbox--perfect timing for the sketch.
I wanted it to pop so I ink distressed with Distress inks and spattered it with water.
A green handle was added for a bit of color interest. The background was masked off
and ink distressed with Peacock Feathers, then spattered with water.

I stamped the tiny hearts and used a white pigment ink pen to color them in
and added random raindrops. I stamped the sentiment and adhered the
stitched panel to a Whip Cream card base.

Big thanks to Michele for pulling me out of panic mode!

Concord & 9th Bouquet

I love dies. Being scissors challenged, I love that many companies now have
matching dies for their stamps. Most of all, I love stand alone dies.

Concord & 9th came out with a unique Bouquet die, and when I saw it featured
on Instagram, I knew I had to get it. Here's my card using it.

I die cut the image from watercolor card stock and left some of the pieces intact.
I used Peerless Watercolors and did some loose watercoloring on the whole piece.

After it was dried, I adhered the piece to a top folding black card, then
white embossed the sentiment. I added a strip of striped paper along the edge
and finished off the card with a few clear sequins.

There are so many possibilities with this die--I can't wait to play with it more.
Thanks for stopping by!

CAS(E) this Sketch 165

Here's CAS(E) this Sketch 165 compliments of teammate Sam.

And here's my take on it.

MFT's sweet bunny makes an appearance just in time for Easter.
I adhered a panel of green plaid paper on Primitive Cream card stock
and added the fence, bunny, and flowers. The card was finished off
with the punny sentiment.
