MFT February Release Countdown Day 5

Are you ready for a month of birthday inspiration? It's time for My Favorite
Things February Release and it's chock full of birthday goodness!
And please welcome our new Creative Team members joining the MFT family--

Anna  Lorenzetto and Nicole Vöegeli

I'm a huge fan of both of these ladies and I can't wait to see their projects!

We're starting off with Stacey Yacula's It's a Mice Time to Celebrate with...
you guessed it, some celebratory mice!

They were stamped, colored and cut with the matching Die-namics. A stitched dome piece
was  inked with Distress inks and a bit of yellow for the candle's glow.

The inked piece was adhered to a Grout Gray card base. The images were adhered
to the card and finished off with the stamped sentiment.

Visit today's Countdown post at My Favorite Things for more peeks at the new
release and be sure to leave a comment there for a chance to win a $75 prize.
Thanks for stopping by today!

CAS(E) this Sketch #307

CAS(E) this Sketch #307 is a little something from me and it looks like this.

And here's my take on it.

After die-cutting the tree on a panel, I masked off its size on a white card stock
panel then ink distressed the area with several shades of green ink. Using the
Scor Buddy, I scored some lines on the bottom of the panel.

The panel was adhered to the card base and I gold embossed the sentiment and
added a single gold heart on the tree.

Visit CAS(E) this Sketch to see how the rest of the team interpreted the sketch
and join us if you can. Link up your card(s) by Thursday, February 7th, and as
the weekly winner you'll be invited to guest with us on a future sketch!

MFT Wed Sketch Challenge #422

There are so many possibilities for this week's MFT Wed Sketch Challenge!

Here's how I interpreted the sketch.

Our Town was cut from a piece of alcohol inked background and five houses
were trimmed from it. The houses were adhered to a card base and a strip
of patterned paper and the white embossed were added. The card was
finished off with a few enamel dots.

Visit the Card Challenges blog for all the details and deadline for this week's
challenge. You could be the random winner of a $50 MFT gift voucher when you
join us. Hope to see you in the gallery!

MFT January Hits & Highlights

Falling in love definitely causes a rattle in your heart, so it’s only appropriate that
your love-themed cards feature a shaker heart to honor that feeling. This month,
we're challenged to create shaker cards featuring hearts — big hearts, mini hearts,
balloon hearts, and multi-hearts--there are so many options available in the shop!

I chose the new bear from Stacey Yacula and added a heart shaped shaker pouch and
balloon to a simple scene.

I added a bit of texture to the bear with Prismacolor pencils and a tiny jute bow. It's
difficult to see the balloon sentiment, but the recipient will be able to when they shake
the card in person.

Visit today's Hits & Highlights post to see how participating Creative Team members
took on the shaker hearts challenge. Thanks for stopping by today!

CAS(E) this Sketch #306

Teammie Brian brings us this week's CAS(E) this Sketch #306.

And here's my take on it by turning the sketch 45°.

The large sentiment was white embossed on watercolor card stock. Three sections were
masked and ink distressed with Distress inks. The panel was spattered with water and
adhered to a white card base. Sequins finished off the card.

Visit CAS(E) this Sketch to see how the rest of the team interpreted Brian's sketch
and join us if you can. Link up your card(s) by Thursday, January 31st.
We hope to see you in the gallery!

MFT Wed Sketch Challenge #421

And here's my take on it.

The bird and sentiment helped me decide to use the music background in the
circular element. A strip of green patterned paper was ink distressed before
being added to the card for contrast.

MFT Card Kit & Stacey Yacula Joyful Heart Bears Release Day

It's time! My Favorite Things January Card Kit--Heart Art, and Stacey Yacula's Joyful
Heart Bears are now available for purchase in the MFT Store!

I can't get enough of Stacey's bears--they are so adorable! I colored the bear with Copic
markers and cut him out with the matching Die-namics.

The Stitched Dome Frame was cut twice from watercolor card stock. I ink distressed
the inside piece with two colors of Distress inks and spattered water over it. Two frames
were adhered on a card base and the inked piece was placed into the opening.

I popped up the bear and stamped the sentiment beside him. The card was finished off
with three butterflies from the set.

Visit today's post at My Favorite Things for more ideas and inspiration using the new
Card Kit and Stacey's new release. And comment on all participating Team members'
blogs for a chance to win a $50 prize! Happy Shopping!

Stacey Yacula's Joyful Heart Bears

The mid-month release from Stacey Yacula is Joyful Heart Bears and even though
there's a Valentine theme, I think the bears can be used for any happy occasion.

For my project I chose the adorable heart hugging bear. I stamped him, colored
him with Copic markers, then cut him out with the matching Die-namics.

A tag corner rectangle was lightly inked as a background for the bear.
A piece of patterned paper was adhered to a white card base, then topped with
the panel. I stamped the sentiment, then popped up the bear.

Visit today's Card Kit post for more inspiration from the Creative Team and
get ready to purchase both the Card Kit and Stacey's new release tomorrow,
January 22nd at 10 AM EST in the MFT Store!

MFT Heart Art Card Kit

Just in time for your Valentine card making is MFT's January Card Kit--Heart Art
and it's chock full of heart-y goodness!

Here's a peek at the kit. Visit today's post at My Favorite Things for a detailed description
of the kit's contents.

I'm sharing two cards using most of the contents of the kit.

Patterned paper was adhered to a white card base. A small panel was cut with
the wonky stitched recangle and adhered to the card. LOVE was cut from the card
stock in the kit and over lapped slightly, then popped up on the card.

The "you"was cut twice from white card stock and adhered together to form a thick
sentiment, then adhered to the LOVE.

I made a second card, constructing the same panel with the LOVE sentiment, and
adhered it to a diagonal striped panel. The "you" was adhered to the sentiment and
I added a pink heart in the center of the "O".

Visit today's Card Kit post for more ideas and inspiration from the Creative Team.
The Heart Art Card Kit. This Card Kit will go on sale Tuesday, January 22nd at
10AM EST in the MFT Store!

Thyroid Awareness Blog Hop

January is Thyroid Awareness Month.

The American Association of Clinical Endocrinologists (AACE) has marked Thyroid
Awareness Month for more than 20 years to raise public awareness of the need for
preventive screening and early detection of thyroid disease. Blogging friend Milka is
doing her part by hosting a blog hop from January 5th thru the 30th.

She's gathered 25 friends worldwide to emphasize the importance of the thyroid
gland and the problems that occur when it's not working properly. The thyroid gland
is shaped like a butterfly so we were asked to incorporate a butterfly or butterflies on
our projects. Here is my card for the hop.

I white embossed the sentiment from WPlus9 and ink distressed in rainbow order, then
offset the panel on a white card base. I finished off the card with three blue butterflies.

The blog hop runs daily through January 30th. Here's a list of all the participants,
Some designers are having a giveaway on their blog, so be sure to check every day

CAS(E) this Sketch #305

Here's this week's CAS(E) this Sketch #305 compliments of Nathalie.

And here's how I interpreted the sketch.

A leafy branch was stamped four times in different shades of green then
overstamped with the sentiment. The panel was trimmed and adhered to a
white card base. Shading was done to the leaves with a Copic marker in
coordinating colors.

Visit CAS(E) this Sketch to see how the rest of the team interpreted the sketch and
join us if you can. Link up your card(s) by Thursday, January 24th and as the weekly
winner, you'll be invited to guest with us on a future sketch--and we hope that you do!
