The Flower Challenge 71 and SSS August Flickr Challenge

I'm linking up this card to two challenges: The Flower Challenge 71--Circle/Circles, and
Simon Says Stamp Flickr Challenge for August which is Anything Goes.

The circle diecut is from an old deckle edge set that is so old, I don't remember
the company I bought it from. I want to say it's from Papertrey Ink but there was
no packaging so maybe it's not. Lil' Inkers, maybe? I miss that company.

Here's a closer look at the diecut. If anyone knows where it's from, I'd be much
obliged. It came in two sizes and I also have a rectangle set of two dies.

The hummingbird and flowers are from Simon's Dream Big release. I've never seen
a real hummingbird, and I think I colored him a bit too bold. The sentiment is

The Flower Challenge #69 -- Colour Blue & Yellow

Challenge #69 over at The Flower Challenge is to use the colors blue and yellow
to show our support for the brave citizens of Ukraine.

Here's my card--a shaped butterfly. A butterfly? Again?? Yes, I can't stop using the
Spellbinder sets of butterflies and have so many ideas for them.

I die cut two of the largest butterflies from watercolor card stock, then ran half of one
butterfly through an embossing folder. Zig markers and a waterbrush were used to
watercolor the butterfly.

Just the flowers from Altenew's Hill Blossom stencil were inked in with yellow ink.
The leaves were left white and die cut with the matching dies. Additional sprigs
were cut and adhered to the butterfly.

I stamped the sentiment, then added a hinged butterfly piece so the card can stand.
Sequins finished off the card.

I'm not sure if my card shows too much butterfly and not enough flowers but I'm
taking a chance and entering it with fingers crossed.

Thanks for stopping by!

Edited to add: My card was given an Honorable Mention shout out!
Thank you, The Flower Challenge!

CAS(E) this Sketch #398

Are you ready for this week's sketch from Chrissy?
It's a fun one!

Throwback to this card back in 2013 when I was part of the Avery Elle
design team. I used the same (retired) alpha set and updated the card stock
colors with ink distressing on watercolor card stock.

I stamped a lined background from MFT with white pigment ink, then adhered
the letters, forming a triangular tree shape. A shimmery star finished off the card.

Visit CAS(E) this Sketch to see how the rest of the team interpreted Chrissy's
sketch and play along with us! Link up your card(s) by Thursday, Nov 19th
and we look forward to seeing you in the gallery!

CASology 5th Anniversary Blog Hop

http://casology.blogspot.com/2017/07/5-year-anniversary-balloon-blog-hop.html

Melissa and her team are celebrating a 5 year Anniversary with a fun Blog Hop!

CASology is one of the first challenges that I joined and my CAS heart is always
happy there. I've also had the honor of guesting several times and Melissa
is always so gracious and wonderful to work with.

Here's a look back at some of my favorite CASology projects:

This week the cue word is BALLOON.

http://casology.blogspot.com/2017/07/5-year-anniversary-balloon-blog-hop.html

And here's my take on it.

I die cut five of Avery Elle's number balloons and inked them in rainbow order,
adhered them to a card and stamped the sentiment. Tiny clear sequins finished
off the card.

Happy 5th Birthday, CASology!
Here's to many more years of CAS inspiration

CAS(E) this Sketch 120

Here's CAS(E) this Sketch 120 by former teammate Gayatri.

As soon as I saw the sketch, I thought "watercolor". Here's my take on it.

I wet a piece of watercolor cardstock and dropped some Distress inks over it.
After letting it dry, I stamped the images and sentiment and added a few sequins. Done!

Head over to CAS(E) this Sketch blog to see how my teammates interpreted the sketch
and join is if you can. Link up your project(s) by Thursday, April 30th
and as a winner, you could be guest designing on a future sketch.

AEI♥U Challenge 16--Sketch

Challenge 16 at AEI♥U Challenge is a fun sketch by Yana. Here it is.

And here's my take on it.

I used the gorgeous bloom from Petals and Stems--one of my fave Avery Elle sets--
and popped it up on a strip of Sorbet paper. I added some splatters from the
Brushed stamp set, and the gold embossed sentment is a freebie
that comes with your Avery Elle order. Love them!

Visit AEI♥U Challenge blog to see how the rest of the team interpreted the sketch
and join us if you can. Link up your card(s) by Saturday, September 27th.

AEI♥U Challenge 15--Clean & Simple

Here's the next challenge at AEI♥U Challenge.

And here's my take on it.

I'm paying homage to my grass roots and finally inked up the van and surfboards
from Surf's Up. The sentiment--which translates in Hawaiian to "thank you"--is from
the same set. I added strips of patterned paper and a few enamel dots for color.

The gloss on the windows and surfboards were added with a clear glaze pen.

Stop by the AEI♥U Challenge blog to see how my teammates
interpreted the theme and join us if you can. The prize is an Avery Elle stamp set
of your choice, and the newest release will go on sale today!

Thanks so much for stopping by!

AEI♥U Challenge #14--SEQUINS

Challenge #14 at AEI♥U Challenge is SEQUINS.
Use as many or as little as you like, along with at least one Avery Elle stamp
and join the challenge! Here's my card.

I was going for a bokeh look and used different dot images to replicate the effect.
The sentiment was gold embossed and I added a smattering of sequins.
Have you used that word before? Smattering? Sounds sassy!

Visit AEI♥U Challenge for all the details and if you don't own any
Avery Elle stamps, feel free to grab a digital one here.
Be sure to link up your card(s) by Sunday, August 31st.
