MFT September Release Countdown--Day 1

One more sleep until the September release at My Favorite Things
and all new products will go on sale tomorrow, September 1st at 10pm EST!
Have you got your wish lists ready?

Today I'm sharing two cards using a new Die-namics skyline die.
The cool thing about the skyline dies is that you can use them in either landscape
or portrait format. On my first card, I die cut the Die-namics New York Skyline
from watercolor paper and colored it in rainbow order with Zig Clean Color markers.

After the inks were dry, I spattered a bit of white ink over and popped it up onto
a Grout Gray card base. I added a strip of dark gray diagonal striped paper
and the sentiment is from Adventure is Calling.

On the next card, I trimmed the skyline to fit the card in portrait format.
The skyline was painted with Zig markers and popped up on the bottom
of a Grout Gray card base.

A strip of black striped diagonal paper was added to the bottom, and I flicked
white paint over the card. Some white stars were added and the sentiment
is also from Adventure is Calling.

MFT September Release Countdown--Day 2

It's just two days until the September Release at My Favorite Things!
Today I'm sharing a card with a soda pop theme with stamps and dies designed
by the incredibly talented Laina Lamb.

I die cut several soda bottles from watercolor paper and smooshed the tops with
a combination of dye and Distress inks. After they were dried, I spattered them
with white paint and adhered them onto a stitched rectangle panel.

The punny sentiment was white embossed onto a strip of black card stock,
trimmed to a banner, and adhered to the panel. The panel was adhered to a Grout Gray
card base and the card was finished off with clear sequins.

MFT September Release Countdown--Day 3

It's three more days till My Favorite Things September Release and today
I'm sharing a little Pure Innocence cuteness with Thankful Friend.

Truthfully, I was going to create a one layer card but I boo-booed the sentiment
and ended up die cutting the little girl. I also colored her with Prismacolor pencils
on kraft card stock to give the card a warm, autumnal feel.

I think I went overboard with the cross hatching but think of it as texture. (Wink!)
I die cut some leaves from the coordinating die set, and the sweet sentiment
is from the Harvest Mouse stamp set.

MFT September Release Countdown--Day 4

Ooh là là! A little bit of Paris has come to My Favorite Things, four days
before the September release!

There are several new skyline dies and today I'm sharing the Paris Skyline.
After die cutting the skyline on watercolor paper, I used a combination of inks
to add some color and spattered white paint over it when it was dry.

I added a strip of paper from the Dots and Stripes Neutral Paper Pack, and the
sentiment is from the new Laber Maker Sentiments. Some enamel dots were added
for a pop of color.

Next, Birdie Brown introduces Mon Cheri, a little cutie who's strolling through
the streets of Paris, doing a little shopping or sightseeing. She was die cut with
the matching dies and colored with Copic markers. I added some dots to her dress
with a white pigment pen.

The background uses another Paris Skyline die cut that was colored with
Zig Clean Color markers and trimmed to fit the Grout Gray card base.
I added a strip of diagonal striped paper to ground her, stamped the
matching sentiment that comes with the set, and added a few clear sequins.

Speaking of window shopping, here's another card using Mon Cheri, paired with
the new Die-namics Boutique Window that was so much fun to put together.

I stenciled the English Brick Wall for the background, then die cut the window
and added some yummy desserts behind the window pane. And although
it's hard to tell from the photo, I added a piece of acetate for the "glass".
Here's a closer look.
