MFT September Release Countdown--Day 5

Welcome to My Favorite Things September Release Countdown!
Today I'm sharing some cute little critters from Animal Farm.

I stamped all of the critters and several trees with MFT's Copic friendly Black
Licorice Hybrid ink. Because of their whimsical look, I decided to do "messy"
coloring with Copic markers.

Watercolor card stock was inked with Distress inks and spattered with water.
I used an A2 Rectangle STAX to cut the panel and adhered it to a white card base.
The Animal Farm Fence was cut from Primitive Cream card stock and trimmed
to fit the panel.

I adhered all the pieces on the card and put the babies in front of the fence.
The sentiment was white embossed on Steel Grey card stock and cut with the
Essential Speech Bubble Die-namics and popped up above the trees.

Visit today's countdown post at My Favorite Things for more peeks and
inspiration, and don't forget to leave a comment there for a chance to win
a $75 prize. Thanks so much for stopping by!

CAS(E) this Sketch #237

Chrissy brings us this week's CAS(E) this Sketch.
Check out Sketch #237.

Here's my take on it--a simple sympathy card.

I saw "gingko leaves" when I first spied the sketch, and sadly, I needed a sympathy
card. Two leaves were ink distressed and adhered to a woodgrain embossed panel.
I spattered on a bit of pearl white paint and popped up the sentiment.

Visit CAS(E) this Sketch to see how the rest of the team interpreted the sketch
and join us if you can. Link up your card(s) by Thursday, September 7th.
Hope to see you in the gallery!

MFT Wednesday Sketch Challenge #348

Meet this week's MFT Wednesday Sketch Challenge #348.

And here's my take on it.

I trimmed down an ink distressed piece that was in my stash and rounded
off the corners. The little Pure Innocence girl was colored with Copics and
adhered to the piece. The sentiment was white embossed on a remnant piece,
and cut with the oval windows.

Both pieces were adhered to a Latté card base that was "embossed" with the
stitched lines on the bottom. Small white stars finished off the card.

$50 MFT gift voucher, and we hope to see you in the gallery!

CAS(E) this Sketch #236

Here's CAS(E) this Sketch #236--a little something from me.

And here's my take on it.

Yes, I flipped the bird. 😬 Only because he's facing towards the right.
The branch is a lengthened tree trunk that was adhered to an ink distressed
panel. The owl was fussy cut and popped up on the branch. A white embossed
sentiment and small silver stars finished off the card.

with and join us if you can. Link up your card(s) by Thursday, August 31st
and as the winner, you could be joining us on a future sketch!

MFT Wednesday Sketch Challenge #347

It's Wednesday--time for a new MFT Wednesday Sketch Challenge!
Here's Sketch #347.

And here's my take on it.

A Stitched Dome Frame was cut from Smooth White card stock. The inner portion
was ink distressed with Distress Oxide inks and spattered with water. A large
butterfly was cut from white card stock and ink distressed with two colors of
Distress Oxide inks and spattered with water.

A strip of gray and white striped paper was adhered to a Grout Gray card base and the
dome frame was adhered over it. The butterfly was adhered inside the frame,
together with a few sequins. The sentiment finished off the card.

A Birdie Brown Revisit--Witch Way is the Candy?

Birdie Brown brings back a Halloween favorite--Witch Way is the Candy?
The images have been tweaked and the set has brand new sentiments
in Birdie Brown's trademark font.

I missed getting this set before it was retired, so I'm happy to see a revival--
just in time for Halloween! Today I'm sharing two cards with this set.

The little witch was stamped and colored with Copics, then cut with the matching
Die-namics. White dots were added to her dress with a Gelly Roll pen. Smaller
images in the set were stamped with Grout Gray ink on a white card base.

I adhered the sentiment strip and the witch was popped up over it with
dimensional adhesive. Glittery gold enamel dots finished off the card.

My second card uses the smaller images in the set. The three images were stamped
and colored with Copic markers, then cut with the matching Die-namics. A top
folding, Smooth White card base was covered with patterned paper and set aside.

The Stitched Peek-a-Boo Windows and Edge were cut from white card stock
and the inside portion of the windows were ink distressed. All pieces were adhered
to the card and the critters were popped up inside each window. The card was
finished off with the white embossed sentiment and a few sequins.

Both the X's and O's Card Kit and Witch Way is the Candy? will go on sale tomorrow,
August 22nd at 9PM EST in the MFT Store!

MFT August Card Kit--X's and O's

If you liked and bought MFT's Amaze-ing Card Kit, then you'll LOVE this month's kit--
X's and O's with a super fun Tic-Tac-Toe theme! Here's a peek at the kit.
Visit today's post at My Favorite Things for a detailed look at the kit's contents.

I made a quick, one layer card using the stamp set from the kit.

The tic-tac-toe grid was white embossed several times on watercolor card stock,
then ink distressed with pink and red Distress inks--the same colors found in the kit.
The x's, o's, and hearts were stamped randomly inside the grid, using black ink.

The sentiment was white embossed on a strip of black card stock and cut out with
a banner die. The banner was adhered to the card and finished off with enamel dots.

Visit today's post at My Favorite Things for peeks at the Card Kit and more!
This fantastic kit will go on sale Tuesday, August 22nd at 9PM EST

MFT Wednesday Sketch Challenge #346

Are you ready for this week's MFT Wednesday Sketch Challenge?
Here's Sketch #346.

And here's how I interpreted the sketch.

I pretty much followed the sketch, and substituted the little reader from Our Story
for the circle element. The image was grounded with the sentiment on a strip,
and the card was finished off with enamel dots.

MFT gift voucher as the random winner of the challenge.

MFT August Release Replay

It's Release Replay time over at My Favorite Things! The Creative Team has
fresh ideas and more inspiration for you using products from the last release.

I love Release Replay because it gives me a chance to use products in a different way
or even step out of my comfort zone.

Often times, smaller stamps in a set are overlooked or overshadowed by the larger
main images. I chose the leaves and buds from In Bloom, inked them in Distress inks
and misted the stamp with water before stamping them on watercolor card stock

Using the Big Thanks Die-namics, I cut right into the panel and used the camouflage
technique. Peeled Paint Distress ink was spattered on the panel, then cut with the
rectangle element from Blueprints 24 and adhered to a Latté card base.
Sparkling Clear sequins finished off the card.

Visit today's Release Replay post at My Favorite Things for more inspiration
from the participating Creative Team members!

CAS(E) this Sketch #234

Meet CAS(E) this Sketch #234--a little something from me.

And here's my pretty straight forward take on the sketch.

Lots of ink distressing with Distress Oxides, a couple of jellyfish and a fun
sentiment. Sparkly sequins finished off the card. Funny how that one dot
with a white pigment pen on the jellies' eyes makes such a difference!

sketch, and join us if you can. Link up your card(s) by Thursday, Aug 17th

MFT Wednesday Sketch Challenge #345

It's Wednesday! Time for an all new MFT Sketch Challenge. Here's Sketch #345.

And here's how I interpreted the sketch. I just love those Happy Hippos!

I stamped, colored, and cut the two hippos and balloons. The Happy Birthday
Circle Frame and banner for the sentiment was cut from Ripe Raspberry
card stock. I adhered a strip of patterned paper per the sketch, added the
circle frame, and popped up the hippos, balloons, and sentiment. The card
was finished off with sparkling clear sequins.

join the challenge. You could be the winner of the $50 MFT gift voucher!

MFT August New Product Launch and Release

It's time! You may now purchase MFT's August Release in the MFT Store!
All new goodies are waiting for you right here.

Before you go, I'd like to share one more project with you using the
Mod Square STAX Die-namics. These versatile dies can be used in so
many different ways--as a card base or to form a graphic design.

I chose one of the dies and cut it four times from watercolor card stock, then
ink distressed and spattered water over them. A Stone Gray card base was
inked with the Make Your Mark background stamp with Versamark for
a tone on tone look.

The four pieces were adhered to the card in a petal design with dimensional
adhesive and the sentiment was adhered over them. Sparkling clear
sequins finished off the card.

There you have it--My Favorite Things August Release! Be sure to visit all of the
Creative Teams and leave comments on their blogs for a chance to win
one of two $100 MFT gift vouchers!

MFT August Release Countdown--Day 2

We're almost there! It's Day 2 of My Favorite Things August Release Countdown!

Today I'm sharing a project using More Monsters stamp set and matching Die-namics.
With school just around the corner, I thought little lunch box notes with these fun
critters would make your little (and grown up) monsters smile big.

All the monsters were stamped with Distress Oxide inks and sometimes double stamped
in several colors using the Misti. The funnest part is stamping in the eyes and details
which bring these little guys to life.

I prepped smaller A2 sized cards (3.5" x 4 7/8") from Smooth White card stock. Using
the Gray and White Basics paper pad, I cut 3.25" by 4 5/8" pieces, then cut the center
out using the Rectangle Shaker Frame.

I assembled all the cards and popped up the little monster in each of the frames,
then stamped the sentiment beneath them. I added little pops of color with stars
and hearts from my stash and Nuvo Drops on the eyes. Aren't these fun?

MFT August Release Countdown--Day 3

We're halfway through with My Favorite Things August Release Countdown!
Today I'm featuring the newest Pure Innocence--A Phone Call Away.

I love that the image has a nostalgic feature--a rotary dial telephone!
The little girl and phone were stamped and colored with Copics and cut with
the matching Die-namics. The Make Your Mark background was stamped on
Latté card stock with Versamark ink, then trimmed with BP 24.

The sentiments fit inside of the Essential Speech Bubbles Die-namics and
I did a bit of adjusting on the smaller bubble and added the question mark
with a fine point marker. I grounded the little girl with an oval shadow, and
enamel dots finished off the card.

inspiration and leave a comment there for a chance to win a $75 prize!

MFT August Release Countdown--Day 4

Welcome back to My Favorite Things August Release Countdown!

This month Birdie Brown has Halloween covered with Fab-Boo-Lous Friends--
an assortment of tiny ghosts and goblins with some very punny sentiments!

I couldn't resist their cuteness and made two cards for today's countdown.
The first card uses the set with the new Stitched Collage Frame.

I started off by stenciling a spooky sky with the Stencil Mini Cloud Edges and
Distress Oxide inks on watercolor card stock, then trimmed it with the rectangle
element from BP24. The frame was cut from Latté card stock and adhered over
the inked piece, then adhered to a Kraft card base.

Then came the fun--stamping, coloring, and cutting the adorable little ghosts
and goblins, and adhering them inside the frame. The sentiment was white
embossed and I finished off the card with white star sequins.

My second card a simple one layer panel. Several images were white embossed
on watercolor card stock, then ink distressed with Distress Oxides and misted
lightly with water.

Using a waterbrush, I "took away" some of the color for a bit of interest.
The panel was cut with the rectangle element from BP 24 and adhered to
a Primitive Cream card base, then finished off with sequins.

the August Release and don't forget to leave a comment there for a chance

MFT August Release Countdown--Day 5

It's time for My Favorite Things August Release Countdown!
We're heading into Halloween with little goblins and trick-o'-treaters and
so much more!

Day 5 begins with Shining Stars Die-namics and Written in the Stars stamp set.

Check out the gorgeous font. You don't need much else for a stellar (pardon the
pun!) card as the die cut word makes such a bold statement.

The sentiment was silver embossed on watercolor card stock, then ink distressed
with Distress Oxide inks and misted with water. The panel was trimmed with the
rectangle element from BP 24 and adhered to a Stone Gray card base.

"Stars" was cut from Silver Sparkle card stock and adhered between the two phrases.
Small silver stars were also cut from sparkle card stock and adhered to the card.

Here's a little tip for you. After the card was finished and all the elements were
adhered, I ran it through my Big Shot machine sandwiched between two plates.
The result is a smooth, flat finish and even the silver embossing looks shinier.

Visit today's Countdown post at My Favorite Things for more peeks and inspiration
and don't forget to leave a comment there for a chance to win a $75 prize!

CAS(E) this Sketch #233

Hannelie brings us the newest CAS(E) this Sketch #233.

Here's my take on it.

I completely rotated the sketch because I wanted to dangle a hippo from a
gigantic balloon. The Blueprints 26 balloon was cut from watercolor card stock
and ink distressed with Distress Oxide inks and spattered with water.

The hippo was in my stash so I added a bowtie and wove the string through
his hand and foot. I finished off the card with the sentiment and white stars.

Visit CAS(E) this Sketch to see how my teammates interpreted the sketch
and join us if you can. Link up your card(s) by Thursday, August 10th.
Hope to see you in the gallery!

MFT Wednesday Sketch Challenge #344

It's time for a new Wednesday Sketch Challenge! Meet Sketch #344.

There are so many possibilities with this sketch. Here's what I came up with
after rotating the sketch clockwise 90 degrees.

After adhering striped patterned paper to a card base, I adhered a panel that
was cut with the scallop edge. A strip of the striped patterned paper was
adhered on the panel per the sketch.

Flowers  and leaves were cut from watercolor card stock and painted with
Distress Oxide inks. After they dried, I adhered them to the card and stamped
the sentiment. The card was finished off with tiny clear sequins.

Visit the Card Challenges blog for all the details on how you could win a
$50 MFT gift voucher. Hope you can join us!
