MFT October Release Countdown--Day 3

Welcome back to Day 3 of My Favorite Things October Release Countdown!

Today's card features Dashing Deer that I paired with the Snow Globe Die-namics
which was part of last month's sold out Card Kit.

The deer, bunny, and bird were stamped and colored with Copics, then cut with the
matching Die-namics. The globe was cut from watercolor card stock and ink distressed
and spattered with water. I used a white Gelly roll pen for a starry sky.

Snowfall Background was stamped on a Stone Gray card base with Versamark ink
and brushed over with Perfect Pearls for a faint glimmer. Silver Sparkle card stock
was cut for the bottom of the snow globe and to ground the trio.

The sentiment was white embossed on Blueberry card stock and cut with the fishtail
sentiment strip. The dome pieces were adhered to the card base, and the critters
and sentiment strip were popped up with dimensional adhesive.

MFT October Release Countdown--Day 4

It's Day 4 of My Favorite Things October Release Countdown!

This month's Birdie Brown is Happy Pawlidays with some adorable holiday pups.

Two pups and the Christmas tree were stamped and colored with Copics, then cut
with the matching Die-namics. I grounded them on a tall fishtail tag that was
ink distressed and spattered with water.

The sentiment was gold embossed and the tag and images were adhered to the card.
I finished off the card with a twine bow through the tag, Nuvo glaze on the lights,
and some Stickles on the star.

MFT October Release Countdown--Day 5

Here we are at Day 5 of My Favorite Things October Release with lots of
new Christmas themed stamps and dies to give you a head start on your
holiday cardmaking!

Today I'm sharing a stamp set in a beautiful font that doesn't need much,
but a simple background or patterned paper to showcase it--Warm Holiday Wishes.

I began by using a new stencil--Drifts and Hills--to create the background.
Using an ink blending tool and mini Distress inks, I began stenciling in
yellow ink, then turned the stencil each time to get a different "hill" and
switching the colors in a warm color palette.

The panel was cut with the Mod Rectangle STAX for a bit of interest,
and the sentiment was gold embossed over it. The panel was adhered to
a Primitive Cream card base and finished off with teeny gold stars.

The Drifts and Hills stencil may be my new favorite for creating fun backgrounds.
You can change up the colors, depending on the occasion, and I'll be sharing more
cards using the stencil during the countdown.

October release and don't forget to leave a comment there for a chance to win

CAS(E) this Sketch #241

CAS(E) this Sketch #241 is a blast from the past, retro sketch!
Chrissy chose Sketch #23 which was her first sketch as a team member.

Apparently I skipped this challenge back in 2013.
Here's what I came up with in 2017.

I ink distressed a strip of watercolor card stock with three Distress inks
and adhered it to a Grout Gray card base. The speech bubble was inked,
then cut with the matching Die-namics and adhered to the card.
Sequins finished off the card.

Visit CAS(E) this Sketch to see how the rest of the team interpreted this
retro sketch and join us if you can. Link up your card(s) by Thursday,
October 5th. Hope to see you in the gallery!

MFT Wednesday Sketch Challenge #352

Are you Yeti for this week's Wednesday Sketch Challenge?
Meet MFT's Wednesday Sketch Challenge #352.

And here's my take on it.

Snowfall Background was white embossed on a Stone Gray panel. A strip
of green chevron paper was adhered to a white card base, and the snowy panel
was adhered over it. The little Yeti was stamped, colored with Copics, then cut
with the matching Die-namics and popped up on the card. The sentiment was
stamped on the card and finished off with stars from my stash.

Concord & 9th Pineapple Perfection

Just popping in to share a card using Concord & 9th's Pineapple Perfection stamps
and coordinating dies.

I.love.pineapples. This stamp is so gorgeous and I love how the flowers help retain
the "tropical-ness" of the fruit.

Earlier on Instagram, I shared photos of how I colored the pineapple after white
embossing the image on watercolor card stock.

Using ink daubers, I could go "out of the lines" and it didn't matter because die cutting
the image made it appear as though I did some fussy cutting.

I added a sprinkling of sequins and stamped the sentiment from Pop Art Pineapple.
For more inspiration and samples, go here to see how the Concord & 9th design team
colored their pineapples.

CAS(E) this Sketch #240

Here's this week's CAS(E) this Sketch #240, compliments of Chrissy.

Here's my take on it, thanks to some very old (c.2013) patterned paper that I found
while doing a bit of summer cleaning.

In hindsight, I should have gone simpler with a solid paper--but I went bold.
I trimmed the paper, getting as many colors as I could on one piece, and adhered
it to a white card base. I added two strips of pink card stock and finished off
the card with the white embossed sentiment and sequins.

and join us if you can. Link up your card(s) by Thursday, September 28th and
as the winner, you could be guesting with us on a future sketch!

MFT Snow Globe Card Kit Release Day

It's time! You may now purchase MFT's Snow Globe Card Kit in the
MFT Store! Today I have one more project to share with you with an "open"
snow globe that still gives you the feeling of having one on your card.

The Snowfall Background was stamped on Latté card stock with Versmark ink
and white embossed. The snow globe shape was cut from watercolor card stock
and ink distressed. A strip of adhesive tape was adhered to the bottom of the dome
and Diamond Dust was adhered to represent a snowy ground.

The snowman was assembled and added to the dome, together with a few
trees. The sentiment was white embossed on a Wild Cherry banner, and I
inked around the card with white pigment ink to finish off the card.

It's Day 2 of the Snow Globe Card Kit Countdown! This fun kit will go on sale
tomorrow, September 19th at 9PM EST in the MFT Store!

Today I'll be sharing a card using other MFT products together with the kit.

The scalloped rectangle panel from Blueprints 27 was adhered to a
Blueberry card base. The snow globe dome shape was cut from watercolor
card stock and ink distressed to resemble a snowy night sky. The snowy
ground was adhered to the dome, then adhered to the card.

Three Bitty Bears were colored, cut, and adhered to the dome. The sentiment was
white embossed on a strip of Blueberry card stock and adhered beneath the bears.

MFT Snow Globe Card Kit--Day 1

If you love snow globes, you'll love this month's card kit from My Favorite Things
which makes a Snow Globe right on your card! Here's a peek at the fun kit. Be sure to
visit today's post at My Favorite Things for a detailed description of the kit's contents.

Here's today's card which was fun to put together.

I cut out the snow globe dome on a rectangle panel that was cut with BP 24.
The piece was cut again from watercolor card stock and ink distressed, then
spattered with water. I added more "snow" with a white Gelly Roll pen.

The snowman was cut from white card stock and I inked around the edges
to give him some dimension. His face and "buttons" were cut and backed with
small pieces of black card stock. I adhered his carrot nose, twiggy arms, and
scarf, then adhered him to the dome. Trees were cut from Sour Apple card stock
and inked to give them dimension.

Diamond Dust was added to the plastic dome, and the snow globe was assembled
over the card base. The white embossed sentiment finished off the card.

this fun kit! Thanks so much for stopping by!

CAS(E) this Sketch #239

Ready for this week's CAS(E) this Sketch? Here's Sketch #239, courtesy of yours truly.

And here's my take on it.

I pretty much stuck to the sketch, thanks to this Pure Innocence sunbather.
A small piece of watercolor card stock was ink distressed for the "water" and the
girl was adhered to it. The sentiment was white embossed on a banner strip and
the card was finished off with enamel dots.

MFT September Release Replay

It's time for My Favorite Things September Release Replay when the
Creative Team shares more inspiration and ideas with the latest release.

Here's my project using the Pop Up Alphabet Die-namics.

Before cutting the alphabet apart, I had a "Kelly Griglione" moment and thought about
using the dies while they were still intact. After die cutting the entire alphabet (plus
the ampersand) from watercolor card stock, I flipped it over and taped down each
row because I knew I was going to ink distress over the letters.

I inked up watermelon colors using Distress inks, then spattered some water over it.
I cut out the "HI" from black card stock and adhered it over the letters on the
inked panel and used the Misti to stamp the second part of the sentiment.
Black Nuvo drops finished off the card as watermelon seeds.

Visit today's Release Replay post for more inspiration from participating
team members. Thanks for stopping by!

CAS(E) this Sketch #238

Teammie Leigh brings us a sweet sketch and you know that flowers will
be involved! Here's CAS(E) this Sketch #238.

And here's my take on it.

Julie Ebersole's Mondo Hydrangea came to the rescue because I knew that I
wanted to use flowers but couldn't decide which ones to use. (Plus this was in
my stash of diecuts--how convenient is that?)

I adhered it to a Stone Gray card base and because it's peeking out from the top
a skosh, I trimmed the bottom of the card so it could still fit in an A2 envie.
Two blooms were added for some dimension. I stamped the sentiment,
rounded off the bottom corner and finished off with sequins.

Visit CAS(E) this Sketch to see how the rest of the team interpreted
Leigh's sketch and join us if you can. Link up your card(s) by Thursday,
September 14th. Hope to see you in the gallery!

MFT Wednesday Sketch Challenge #349

Here's what I came up with.

A piece of woodgrain card stock was trimmed and adhered to a white card base.
Three monsters were inked and cut with the matching dies, then framed on the
card. I added the white embossed sentiment and finished the card with enamel dots.

It's time! You may now purchase MFT's September Release here in the MFT Store!
Remember to comment on all design team members' blogs for a chance to win
one of two $100 MFT gift vouchers!

Before you go, I'd like to share one more project with you using the Grateful
stamp set and a water stenciled background.

I ink distressed several colors on watercolor card stock, liberally sprayed the Funky
Florals stencil with water, then pressed it down on the inked surface. I pressed down
on the stencil with a paper towel to absorb water that seeped through. I left it on for
a few seconds, then lifted up the stencil to reveal the "bleached" image.

After the piece was dried, I used the Mod Rectangle STAX to cut it out and adhered
it to a Cement Gray card base. I stamped the two part sentiment and finished off
the card with a few sequins.

MFT September Release Countdown--Day 1

We're almost there! It's one more day until My Favorite Things September Release!

Today I'm featuring the All Smiles stamp set and Double the Smiles Die-namics which
were both part of the recent All Smiles Card Kit, and pairied them with my favorite
Bitty Bear on a clean and simple card.

I ink distressed a piece of watercolor card stock with Distress inks in rainbow order,
then cut out the SMILE. I adhered the letters to a white card base and stamped the first
part of the sentiment above it. I added a strip of striped paper on the bottom edge, and
finished off the card with the umbrella toting bear.

inspiration, and don't forget to leave a comment there for a chance to win

MFT September Release Countdown--Day 2

It's two days until My Favorite Things September Release! Are your wish lists
growing longer by the day?

Today I'm sharing a card using the new Pop Up Alphabet Die-namics. You've seen
the (now retired) Pop Up Birthday and Pop Up Holiday Die-namics. Now you'll
be able to customize your own sentiments with these fun dies.

I started off by ink distressing a night sky on watercolor card stock, spritzing it with
water and white paint. After the panel was dried, I trimmed it with the A2 Rectangle
STAX. I chose "BOO" as the sentiment for my card, and die cut the letters on the
ink distressed panel.

The second part of the sentiment was stamped on the panel, then adhered to a
black card base. Lastly, I popped up the different Halloween characters on the card
with dimensional adhesive.

release and don't forget to leave a comment there for a chance to win a $75 prize!

MFT September Release Countdown--Day 3

Yes, we're half way to release day! All new products will go on sale
Tuesday, September 5th at 9PM EST in the MFT Store!

Today I've got a fun friendship card using the new Wild Woodland stamps
 and Die-namics.

Three critters were stamped and colored with Copics, then cut with the matching
Die-namics. I ink distressed a stitched dome and adhered it to a Latté card base
that was stamped with Whimsical Woodgrain in Versamark ink.

The dome was adhered to the card and the trio was popped up with dimensional
adhesive. The sentiment was white embossed on Wild Cherry card stock and
cut with the stitched fishtail sentiment strip, then adhered to the card. Small
pink hearts finished off the card, and highlights were added with a Gelly Roll pen.

MFT September Release Countdown--Day 4

My Favorite Things September Release Countdown continues!

Today I'm sharing this month's release from Birdie Brown--Bitty Bears. The
images may be small, but they're HUGE on cuteness! How bitty are they, you ask?
Here's a shot of four bears in the palm of my hand.

And here's my project using them.

I stamped and colored the bears with Copic markers, then cut them out with the
matching Die-namics. The compartment die from Blueprints 27 was cut twice from
white card stock, and the inner pieces were saved. Two triple window pieces were
cut apart, then adhered to a Stone Gray card base.

The inner pieces were ink distressed, then popped back into the frame and a bear was
adhered to each colored square with dimensional adhesive. The sentiment was white
embossed on a banner strip and adhered to the card. Enamel dots completed the card.

Visit today's Countdown post at My Favorite Things for more peeks at the September
release. Be sure to leave a comment there for a chance to win a $75 prize! All new
goodies will go on sale Tuesday, September 5th at 9PM EST in the MFT Store.
