MFT Wed Sketch Challenge #374

Are you ready for another MFT Wed Sketch Challenge? Here's Sketch #374.

And here's my simplified take on it.

Whimsical Woodgrain was stamped in Kraft ink on Primitive Cream card stock
and ink distressed around the edges. A wonky stitched rectangle was cut from
a scrap piece of cream card stock and ink distressed lightly around the edges
then adhered to the card base.

The gnome and toadstool were stamped, colored with Copics and cut with the
matching Die-namics. After drawing in some grass with a Copic marker, the
images were adhered to the small panel. The card was finished off with the
white embossed sentiment.

Visit the Card Challenges blog for all the details on how you could be the
random winner of a $50 MFT gift voucher. Come and join the challenge
and we hope to see you in the gallery!

MFT February Hits & HIghlights--Sentiment Round-Up

This month we're highlighting our collection of Word Circle frames. These frames
can be used for simple layering or combined with Circle Shaker Pouches for extra fun!

Here's my project using the Happy Birthday Circle Frame.

I used the frame as a design element. And I must have had a touch of Olympic
fever when I made this. After die cutting three circles from watercolor card stock,
I painted them in rainbow order with Peerless watercolors and a water brush.

It's difficult to tell by the photo, but I snipped two circles to link them with the
third in Olympic fashion. The sentiment was white embossed on a strip of black
card stock and adhered to the card. I rounded off the bottom corners and finished
off the card with colorful enamel dots.

Visit today's Hits & Highlights post at My Favorite Things for more inspiration
from the design team using MFT's fun collection of Circle Frames.

Altenew Build-a-Flower Blog Hop + Giveaway

Today I'm using Build-a-Flower Sakura (Cherry Blossom) which was released
last month. I chose this set because the dies appear to be "stand alone" although
they coordinate perfectly with the Sakura stamp set.

I ink distressed the left bottom corner of a piece of watercolor card stock with
Shaded Lilac Distress ink and spritzed on some water for texture and interest.
Three sakura were cut from light pink card stock and ink distressed around the petals.
The stamen were cut from white card stock and inked in the center with yellow ink.

The leaves were cut from light green card stock and the details were stamped on
top, then ink distressed lightly for dimension. I wanted to add a branch for the flowers
to sit on and the Forever and a Day dies fit the bill.

Brown card stock was cut with the dies and highlighted with white pigment ink.
I trimmed the branch into smaller pieces and tucked them under the blooms.
The card was finished off with the stamped sentiment and sequins.

CAS(E) this Sketch #260

Ready for a new CAS(E) this Sketch? Here's #260 compliments of Chrissy.

And here's my take on it.

I ink distressed the bottom portion of a watercolor card stock panel and spritzed
on some water. The two part sentiment was cut from the panel and popped up over
a Cement Gray card base. I finished off the card with a popped up flower and leaves.

MFT Wed Sketch Challenge #373

And here's my take on it.

After creating a top folded Cement Gray card, I cut a smaller panel from Stone
Gray card stock and cut a circle from the center. I adhered the panel to the card
base, then added three flowers and leaves in the center. I finished off the card
by popping up the white embossed sentiment.

MFT + Chibtronics® Collaboration Day 2

It's Day 2 of our fun collaboration with Chibitronics® and I'll have to admit
that this time around, I felt a little more confident with my circuitry skills 😬
Here's my card before being lit up by Chibi Lights.

I ink distressed a night sky on watercolor card stock and trimmed it with the
largest A2 Stitched Rectangle die. I cut three larger stars from the panel and
backed them with a piece of vellum. Small stars were cut from silver glitter
card stock and adhered to the sky.

The polar bear was stamped, colored with Copics, and cut with the matching
Die-namics. Two icebergs were cut and details were added with a Copic marker.
I stamped the sentiment on the iceberg in blue ink and decided this would be
where the recipient will press the battery to activate the Chibi lights.

The stars were covered from the back of the panel with vellum. Then it was time to
assemble the tape and LED stickers, after sketching a roughdraft of how I wanted
the tape to run to and from the battery.

I doubled up the dimensional tape around the card so the battery wouldn't
constantly be touching the tape and remain on. After adhering the front panel
to the card base, the stars lit up when the iceberg was pressed. Success!

If you've never tried Chibitronics® before, give it a try. The starter kit has everything
you'll need and comes with a handy book that will guide you through every step from
a simple circuit to more complex ones.

Visit today's Chibi Lights post at My Favorite Things for more inspiration from the
Creative Team and comment for a chance to win a Chibi Lights Starter Kit! And

CAS(E) this Sketch #259

CAS(E) this Sketch #259 is a little something from me.
And it looks like this.

Here's how I interpreted the sketch--with tea!

I gold embossed the floral background then cut it with the banner shape and
adhered it to a Biscotti card base. The teapot was ink distressed and spritzed with
water then adhered to the card. A gold embossed sentiment finished off the card.

Visit CAS(E) this Sketch to see how the rest of the team interpreted the sketch
and join us if you can. Link up your card(s) by Thursday, Feb 22nd and as the
winner, you'll be invited to guest design with us on a future sketch!

MFT February Birthday Project--Up, Up and Away

Few things say “birthday” like a beautiful bouquet of balloons. For this month’s
Birthday Project challenge, focus on a single bobbing balloon or cover your card
in copious amounts of colorful images or die cuts.

I decided to go with a single balloon with the help of Blueprints 26. I love that you
can make the balloon as small or as large as you like, depending on the placement
of the die. And of course, it had to be ink distressed.

After die cutting a good sized balloon, I ink distressed it with several shades of
blue inks and spritzed water. The balloon was adhered to a Stone Gray card base,
and I inserted the balloon string and adhered the bow. Using the Misti, I stamped
the sentiment twice over the string, then added the birthday chick and sequins.

Grab your balloon stamps, stencils, and dies and join the challenge for a chance
to win a $50 MFT gift voucher! Get all the details in today's post at the Card
Challenges blog. Hope to see you in the gallery!

MFT Wednesday Sketch Challenge #372

Meet Sketch #372.

And here's my take on it.

I die cut Our Town twice from watercolor card stock in different heights then
colored them with Zig markers and a waterbrush. They were adhered to a Stone
Gray card base and topped with a strip of striped patterned paper. The sentiment
was white embossed on a rectangle piece of Gravel Gray card stock and adhered
to the card per the sketch.

MFT February Release Replay

It's time for My Favorite Things February Release Replay when the design team
shares fresh ideas and more inspiration with the latest release.

Here's my project using Birdie Brown's Birthday Chicks and my first attempt
at no line coloring.

I started out by stamping the seven chicks in the center of the card with
Distress inks in the same color as a Copic marker, masking when necessary,
and then colored them in. Separately, I stamped more chicks, colored them, and
cut them out with the matching dies.

The panel was cut with the wonky stitched rectangle, then adhered to a Stone
Gray card base. I added the extra chicks over the stamped ones, stamped the
sentiment, and finished off the card with clear sequins. To make their features pop,
I dotted their eyes with black Nuvo Drops, and drew in their beaks and feet.

Since I had an extra chick, I stamped a sentiment on the inside, and added
the chick over it. I should do this more often; now the card feels complete!

Visit today's post at My Favorite Things to see how the rest of the team took
on the Release Replay challenge. Thanks for stopping by!
