MFT February Release Countdown Day 1

It's the final Countdown Day until MFT's February Release.
All new goodies go on sale tomorrow, February 5th at 10AM EST!

Today's project features the new Happy Birthday Blend Stamp and Die-namics, paired
with an adorable Party Penguin.

The blended sentiment was inked with four different dye inks and although it's

not a necessity, having the Misti makes it so easy to line up. I die cut the sentiment,

and cut several more to adhere together to form thick, chipboard pieces.

The penguin was inked with dark brown ink, and its beak and feet with yellow ink.

I added blush to its cheeks and a bit of color on his tummy. A panel was cut with the

wonky stitched rectangle die, then adhered to a Grout Gray card base.

 I stamped the sentiment and decided to adhere the penguin to the card with an

Action Wobbler. The finishing touches were the party hat and confetti from my stash.

MFT February Release Countdown Day 2

It's two more days until My Favorite Things February Release!
All new goodies will go on sale Tuesday, February 5th at 10AM EST
in the MFT Store.

The new Card Sized Confetti Stencil Set will add a colorful background to your 
project. You'll be able to layer as little or as much confetti as you want on your 
card with two stencils in the set.

I prepared a card base and ink distressed yellow ink, darker on the top and

fading to the bottom. I stenciled the confetti background in two colors of ink 

using both stencils for a fully covered background.

The stack of Birth-Yay critters were stamped, colored and cut with the matching 

Die-namics. Three more pieces were cut from white card stock and layered to form a
thick, chipboard piece with the stamped image on top. I stamped the sentiment, adhered
the critters, then finished off the card with clear sequins.

MFT February Release Countdown Day 3

We're halfway to MFT's February Release! All new goodies will go on sale
Tuesday, February 5th at 10AM EST in the MFT Store.

This month there are two Pure Innocence cuties with a birthday theme.
For the Birthday Girl was stamped, colored with Copics and cut with the matching
Die-namics. I borrowed the pup from Birthday Buddies and colored and cut him out
and set both images aside.

The Snowfall Background became confetti with tone on tone stamping on a
kraft card base. A stitched dome piece was stamped with the sentiment from
Birthday Bears, then adhered to the card. The little girl and pup were popped up
on the card and finished off with three small hearts.

MFT February Release Countdown Day 4

It's four more days until My Favorite Things February Release!
This month we're welcoming a second critter to the Die-namics family-- 
Raccoon Cutie. And what a cutie he is!

When my (teacher) daughter saw the raccoon she shared with me the story of  
"The Kissing Hand" by Audrey Penn which became the inspiration for my project.

Chester the Raccoon is afraid to go to school so his mother shares a family secret 
called the Kissing Hand to reassure him of her love whenever he felt sad or lonely.

All the pieces were cut from shades of gray and black card stock and ink distressed

before being assembled. Highlights were added to the eyes and nose with a pigment pen.

A strip of grassy border was adhered to the card to ground the raccoon.

The speech bubble with the heart was a good substitute for a sentiment as I wasn't
sure what I was planning to use. A tiny heart on the paw finished off the card..

And this month's Release from Birdie Brown is Birth-Yay--a menagerie of critters
celebrating birthdays in style.

The images were stamped, colored with Copics, then cut with the matching Die-namics.
A card base was prepared with patterned paper and  a scalloped border panel.
The toucan, cake, monkey and turtle were adhered to the card and the white
embossed sentiment was adhered below them. Clear sequins finished off the card.

MFT February Release Countdown Day 5

Are you ready for a month of birthday inspiration? It's time for My Favorite
Things February Release and it's chock full of birthday goodness!
And please welcome our new Creative Team members joining the MFT family--

I'm a huge fan of both of these ladies and I can't wait to see their projects!

We're starting off with Stacey Yacula's It's a Mice Time to Celebrate with...
you guessed it, some celebratory mice!

They were stamped, colored and cut with the matching Die-namics. A stitched dome piece
was  inked with Distress inks and a bit of yellow for the candle's glow.

 The inked piece was adhered to a Grout Gray card base. The images were adhered
to the card and finished off with the stamped sentiment.

CAS(E) this Sketch #307

CAS(E) this Sketch #307 is a little something from me and it looks like this.
 

And here's my take on it.

After die-cutting the tree on a panel, I masked off its size on a white card stock
panel then ink distressed the area with several shades of green ink. Using the
Scor Buddy, I scored some lines on the bottom of the panel.

The panel was adhered to the card base and I gold embossed the sentiment and
added a single gold heart on the tree.

MFT Wed Sketch Challenge #422

There are so many possibilities for this week's MFT Wed Sketch Challenge!

Here's how I interpreted the sketch.

Our Town was cut from a piece of alcohol inked background and five houses
were trimmed from it. The houses were adhered to a card base and a strip
of patterned paper and the white embossed were added. The card was
finished off with a few enamel dots.

MFT January Hits & Highlights

Falling in love definitely causes a rattle in your heart, so it’s only appropriate that
your love-themed cards feature a shaker heart to honor that feeling. This month, 

we're challenged to create shaker cards featuring hearts — big hearts, mini hearts, 

balloon hearts, and multi-hearts--there are so many options available in the shop!

I chose the new bear from Stacey Yacula and added a heart shaped shaker pouch and
balloon to a simple scene.

I added a bit of texture to the bear with Prismacolor pencils and a tiny jute bow. It's
difficult to see the balloon sentiment, but the recipient will be able to when they shake
the card in person.

CAS(E) this Sketch #306

Teammie Brian brings us this week's CAS(E) this Sketch #306.

And here's my take on it by turning the sketch 45°.

The large sentiment was white embossed on watercolor card stock. Three sections were
masked and ink distressed with Distress inks. The panel was spattered with water and
adhered to a white card base. Sequins finished off the card.

Here's this week's MFT Wednesday Sketch Challenge #421.

And here's my take on it.

The bird and sentiment helped me decide to use the music background in the

circular element. A strip of green patterned paper was ink distressed before 

being added to the card for contrast.
