Homework has never been so enjoyable as it is for Clean and Simple Card Making 2!

I actually look forward to getting inky after learning so many wonderful tips 

and trying some fun techniques.

Here is my ATC--Artist Trading Card--from Day 1.

I used the new Pinstripes from Hero Arts which is fast becoming

my favorite background stamp. It's so versatile!

And I combined homework from Days 2 and 3 with a one layer card
and a fun inking technique that creates a trendy ombre effect.

The sentiment is from Ali Edwards Technique Tuesday.

C.A.T.S. for July

No, not the musical....C.A.T.S. stands for Card And Tag Swap, an acronym and swap created by my local blogging friend, Joy. C.A.T.S. has been going on for some time now and I thought it would be fun to join in and meet some blogging buddies and make some new friends, too.

The theme for July was to use red and blue on your card and tag, and I was paired up with 1LuvnMama who happens to live about a mile away from me. We've never met in person, and possibly passed each other at our neighborhood supermarket or drug store without even knowing it!

Here's what I received in the mail from her. Can you say "awesome"? It's an adorable easel card with a matching tag. The image is so cute, and her coloring is perfection! I love the little details--the cloud background, a bit of Stickles on the bee. Such a work of art! Thank you, Mama!♥

Mama is on the Greeting Farm's Farm Fresh challenge design team and as you can see, she's super creative so the pressure was on! I colored Cheeky Beach with Copics and used Reverse Wonky Rectangles for the card and tag.

Hero Arts' Cling Dots Background was clear embossed and ink distressed with Barn Door and Fired Brick. Both the card and tag were embossed with Sizzix Dots folder.

 I added Glossy Accents to her beach ball and her eyes, and a bit of Liquid Pearls to the center of the flower. The sentiment on the tag is from The Greeting Farm, and some white seam binding and a blue button finished them off.

I'm looking forward to next month's C.A.T.S. with a new partner and a new theme!

A warm ALOHA!

Happy Aloha Friday! Just sharing a card using one of the newer stamps from The Greeting Farm--Surfer Anya. Isn't she a cutie? She and Surfer Ian are such a cute couple, too.

I colored her with Copics, trimmed her out and used some corrugated paper and kraft cardstock for a little beach scene. The background is Hero Arts' Raindrop Background, stamped with Frayed Burlap distress ink. The sun die is from My Favorite Things, and I added lots of buttons for color and fun. The sentiment was made with Harold's ABCs from Lawn Fawn.

The Greeting Farm is once again sponsoring Cards for a Cause for 2011. This year, cards are being sent to some students in Japan who could use some cheering up after the horrific earthquake/tsunami in March.

Cheeky Cool Christmas

Just a quick share of a card that I made for Farm Fresh Friday at The Greeting Farm. I had several Cheeky gals colored--she's my favorite!--so this card came together rather quickly. On the Nestabilities Labels One shape, I stamped Hero Arts' Music Background and ink distressed with Broken China distress ink.

I used lots of Diamond Stickles on her outfit and some pearly snowflakes for the "Let It Snow" challenge theme. The "cool" sentiment is from another set from the Greeting Farm.

Note: This card was picked as a "Wednesday Wow" at Club Anya and Friends and I won a free digi of my choice! I'll share who won Farm Fresh Friday in an upcoming post.

Hoppin' into the Holidays with The Greeting Farm!

Hi and welcome to The Greeting Farm's Holiday Hop! Start at The Greeting Farm and hop your way through all the blogs for lots of Christmas inspiration. Both blog hop participants and commenters will be eligible to win TGF's entire December release!

I've used Cheeky Christmas--she's my favorite gal in the Cheeky series--and made two cards to share. I colored up several images in different colors but stuck to the traditional red for this card and the "Santa Baby" theme.

I used Papertrey Ink's tree die and die cut two trees and placed them behind Cheeky. I moved the die a little higher so the second tree came out a little shorter than the first. The sentiment is from Hero Arts.

I'm thinkin' of giving this card to our mail carrier. Maybe it'll get his heart racing a little faster and he'll deliver our mail a little quicker. You think? ;)

For my second card and the "Let It Snow" theme, I colored Cheeky in vintage colors and added some glittery snowflake buttons. Hope this qualifies as "snow". I added a green ribbon that I dyed with some distress inks
for a bit of contrast.

Hi there! Hope your week is going well...

Just a quick share of some cute Halloween goodie bags from Elle's Studio for Jessica Sprague. The set includes 5 different designs and all you have to do is print them out, cut them, and fold them up.

I attached The Greeting Farm's Hallo Witch digi to the outside of one bag, and another of Sweet November's Halloween babies on another. Easy peasy, no?

Do you get the feeling that Halloween is quickly becoming my favorite "holiday"?

Hello and happy Tuesday! A quick post to share a card that I made using Laundry Anya.

She's an older Greeting Farm image and she was a lot of fun to color. The "problem" was finding the perfect sentiment to go with her.

I finally paired her with a Kid's Quote sentiment stamp given to me by my pal Kelly. Isn't it a great match?

Saturday Sketch #33

I couldn't pass up a chance to make a circle card for the Saturday Sketch #33 challenge at Club Anya & Friends. I love making shaped cards and my Nesties get a good workout almost daily.

Here's my card with an altered Surfer Ian. I had several Ethan heads colored because I was practicing curly hair coloring and decided on a head swap.

I just went with the circle Nesties and used a circle cutter to cut a bigger circle than the largest die. I also used a couple of buttons to help balance the card when it's "standing". It worked!

CMC Challenge #3 -- Curly hair

Challenge #3 at Color Me Copic is to use Copics to color curly hair. The uber talented Amy Young produced her first video here on how she colors curly hair and it's truly mesmerizing to watch!

I stamped Dylan from The Greeting Farm's Roll Call kit and propped myself up next to my laptop and followed Amy's step-by-step tutorial. Here's my card with my first attempt at curly hair alá Amy!

I used Kelly's hair colors (E31, E25, E29, E49) and basically drew squiggles over his entire head, just as Amy explained. No blending at all!

I paired him with a Kid's Quote sentiment that my pal Kelly gave me but I think he looks a bit too sweet for it. Especially since I trimmed off his head and tilted it a bit.

And with the help of Random.org, the winner of Cheeky Glamour is Ruby! I've emailed you, Ruby! I'll also be sending you some rayon seam binding so you can make your own crinkled ribbon...Have fun!

King and Queen of the Farm

Happy Monday to you! Did you all have a fun weekend? We watched Hawaii's Little League team clinch the US title and fall short of beating Japan for the World Series championship. It was so exciting and fun to watch and we're so proud of them for going as far as they did.

Just sharing a card I made for the King and Queen challenge at The Greeting Farm. You had to create a card with a Greeting Farm couple to "reign the farm".

I decided to use Jeremy and Odette from the Roll Call set because they were the best dressed couple. I used scraps of October Afternoon papers that I used on an earlier card, along with my new Nestabilities Labels 14. Love that shape!

Texturize with Kelly!

On this week's WTW, my good pal Kelly Booth shared her technique for texturizing on her very first video here. Did you see it? Lots of technical help from her sweet hubby and very informative, too!

Here's my card using Oliver & Amelia's Happy Day from The Greeting Farm. I used a crocheted flower that I bought on Etsy, saturated it with Copic colorless blender and followed Kelly's tutorial.

Can you see his jeans? I love how it turned out like an "acid wash" and I dabbed a little on each of the dinosaurs, too. Fun! It also gives a lot of dimension on your images and it's fun to watch the "magic" appear.

ATS Crinkled ribbon challenge + a giveaway!

All That Scraps' Wednesday challenge is to use crinkled ribbon on your card. How could I not enter this challenge? But I have to admit, I love making the crinkly ribbon more than I know how to tie it!

Here's my card using Cheeky Glamour from The Greeting Farm and the purple crinkly ribbon that I dyed using Dusty Concord distress ink. Isn't she sweet?

Truth be told, I had her colored and cut out quite a while ago and she was just waiting for the right time to make her appearance.

The background is a Purple Onion Design damask stamp that I just love. I think it goes perfectly with her vintage look.

I happen to have an extra Cheeky Glamour stamp that I would love to give to someone who will give her a good home. Simply leave me a comment on this post and tell me if you tried making your own crinkly ribbon. Or not. Just leave me a comment!

Color Me Copic Challenge #2--Kim's Grass Tutorial

The second challenge at Color Me Copic is to make a card and grow some grass alá Kim and her coloring tutorial here. I decided to use The Greeting Farm's Izzy again--she's my favorite Twinkle Tot--and make a sepia toned card. Pure laziness on my part.

After coloring her, I cut out the image with the Nestabilities Labels Eight die. I followed Kim's tutorial and made the grass a little taller.

I used some October Afternoon papers and finished it off with some red grosgrain ribbon. No sentiment was used so that I can use the card for whatever occasion later.
